Before you all start hating on this festival, please just admit that you wish you were there....I know I do! Seriously better than any indie-based gathering to happen on the east coast...ever??!

So yes, I 100% wish I was there but instead of being a spiteful jerk, I will just wish everyone in attendance a great time and an amazing weekend!

I guess I should have guessed that there are actually ice cream snobs. Pray tell, what ice cream flavor is avant-garde? And why would anyone want to eat wasabi-flavored ice cream.

maple bacon ice cream...now that's cool.

put that in your vegan pipe and smoke it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2010 3:27 PM

Remember, there is a good reason Chicago is called the SECOND CITY...it cannot compete

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2010 3:29 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2010 3:40 PM

hahahaha, 3:22 are you kidding?!

you clearly dont follow the nyc music scene do you? we dont need a music festival to have the talent roll through on a daily basis.

isnt the saying, "chicago is for suckers?"

if not, ill give you the rights to make the t-shirt.

sucker.

I'm 3:22. In no way am I saying that Chicago is better than NYC....Chicago BLOWS and I dislike almost everyone I've ever met from there. What I'm basically saying is that most of the commenters here are bratty sissypants b!tches. Ya get me now???

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2010 3:54 PM

3:22 if the sissypants fit, wear 'em, though you might want to let out the waist a little bit, they sound tight.

Posted by Anonymous | July 16, 2010 3:59 PM

It's nice to see vegan ice-cream.

This fest is okay for a fest of its size but its gotten more crowded and more expensive every year (I went the first four years) and now it's mostly about "legacy" indie acts than discovering new music (BSS, Modest Mouse, Pavement, etc.) NYC has a lot of good stuff going on this weekend, don't sweat it. Pfork probably peaked around '08. Public Enemy, Sebadoh, Mission of Burma, Animal Collective, Jarvis Cocker, Extra Golden, Dinosaur Jr., Spiritualized, Ghostface + Raekwon, Dirty Projjys, Vampy Weekend, Hold Steady,Fleet Foxes, Les Savy Fav, etc., etc. Pretty epic.

Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2010 3:03 AM

11:12pm, so is that to say they've been a hot mess for all but the two years or so Johnny Marr was working and touring with them?

Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2010 11:46 AM

wtf is with all these commercials on the stream.

Posted by Anonymous | July 17, 2010 1:51 PM

3:03 I don't know how you can claim Pitchfork is all about legacy acts and not discovering new music--Best Coast's album isn't even out yet, and after that I don't even need to explain the eight jillion new and unknown acts who played this weekend. You are wrong.

Posted by LKJ | July 19, 2010 3:51 PM

3:03 Again--Cracks me up that you complain about P'fork being a "legacy acts only" fest, yet in your worshipful list of '08 acts (when you said the five-year-old festival "peaked") includes...AT LEAST FIVE LEGACY ACTS.
