Black Cobra at The Charleston (more by Chloe Rice)
Black Cobra

Metal metal everywhere! Starting TONIGHT, the heaviness gets underway with a marathon of killer shows designed to make your neck tired from all that bangover.

High On Fire kicks off the festivities tonight (7/27) with Unearthly Trance (who play August 14th with Coffinworm) and Natur rounding out the bill at Music Hall of Williamsburg (tickets).

Immolation and Arsis team up with the incredible Disma (we profiled them here) to destroy The Studio at Webster Hall on Wednesday (7/28, tickets).

Thursday means Innumerable Forms and Mammoth Grinder at The Acheron (unmissable).

Friday is Black Cobra / Howl / Struck By Lightning / East of The Wall at The Studio at Webster Hall (tickets).

Saturday is Deathcycle at 538 Johnson, and we cap it all off with a night of pitch perfect darkness with Altar of Plagues/ Velnias / Castevet / Man's Gin at The Studio @ Webster Hall on Sunday (8/1, tickets).

Speaking of these shows, I have a three free pairs of tickets available for giveaway for three of the shows listed above: Black Cobra, Altar of Plagues, and Immolation. Details on how to win are at the bottom of this post.

Meanwhile, dig on a few songs available for download above featuring contributions from Disma, Immolation, Arsis, Torche, Boris, and Russian Circles.

A reminder, Boris/Torche/Russian Circles play Music Hall of Williamsburg on August 6th (tickets), a show that will double as a release party for the Boris/Torche split. In celebration, the label will giveaway pins with a download code for the Torche contribution - but only at this show.

The release show at MHOW is just one day after Unsane rips it at Santos (8/5, tickets) and one day before Fuck The Facts/Magrudergrind beat down Cake Shop (8/7).

mammoth grinder playing with innumerable forms means that they will be playing their new shit. not that it's bad, i just prefer their older, sludgy/hardcore stuff.

high on fire should be good. i'm digging unearthly trance as well.

immolation will be awesome.

boris +, i can't even begin to say how awesome that show will be.

magrudergrind + fuck the facts will be pure damage.

all in all, this is going to be a good streak.

I'd got to Innumerable Forms/Mammoth Grinder, but Malevolent Creation/Gigan is the same day. I HAVE to see Gigan.

Im a huge Black Cobra fan but recently when I went to see them in Seattle, this band that opened for them named Lesbians just destroyed the whole show. They seriously made Black Cobra look like kids.

Well Mammoth Grinder has the good taste to use the cult classic movie Holy Mountain in that video Sentenced to Hell which seems to work pretty good.

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
