Wow that is really really funny. Although I am sure he has played to larger crowds at festivals.

...

What a dick

From the ridiculous, to the profoundly ridiculous...this might explain why their was an awful Wavves video on MSG's new "indie rock" show a few Fridays ago.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 5:17 PM

Was Owl City busy that night?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 5:27 PM

Tickets go on general sale Saturday, July 17 at 10am.....and will be available right up until they take the stage.

I guess it's cool to say you played MSG, but I can't imagine more than 1,000 people show up in time to see Wavves. Most of those will probably hit the bars in the concourses. The remaining ones will say that the room was too big and empty and the sound sucked. Waste of time.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 5:29 PM

Do we need any more proof that this upcoming decade of music is absolutely going to suck?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 5:35 PM

have a meltdown that night. I dare you.

Remember when CREED was sued by an audience for sucking? true story.

uh huh

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 5:39 PM

I shant be purchasing a ticket but can someone in the GA section please lob a single banana creme pie at Williams in my stead? Good day.

even though I kind of enjoy some tracks on the new 'king of the beach' album, in no way does wavves deserve to play msg. nor should any other band be playing that venue this early in there "career". however, I don't really think dirty projectors or phoenix should be playing there either, but that's because I don't really like either of them...

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 5:44 PM

indieeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 5:47 PM

You can't really trash on this too hard because it's too fucking absurd.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 5:56 PM

I think this will sell out for the following 3 reasons:
1. The pointy shoe crew is massive and love this band.
2. The hype machine is running on high for them.
3. Free hummus will be available til 9pm.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 5:57 PM

awesome!
the new albums great & im sure theyll put on a sweet show

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 6:06 PM

@5:57....FREE HUMUS FTW.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 6:14 PM

This story is as about as pointless as the Vivian Girls drummer going to Best Coast. Maybe if you ignore this talentless nonsense it will just disappear.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 6:24 PM

I usually keep my mouth shut, but i'm sorry- wavves sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 6:42 PM

New album is tits.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 7:01 PM

my lord - wasn't this a joke at one time?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 7:09 PM

This is not surprising. Wavves just recently signed with crush management who also represent the likes of Courtney love & fall out boy. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the first of many large scale shows to come.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 8:00 PM

usually I just look at these comments but this is worthy of a HA!

so undeserved

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 8:09 PM

If only Courtney Love and/or Fallout Boy were capable of playing large scale shows anymore.

What happened, was Staind's management busy?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 8:13 PM

Wouldn't it be groovy if the crowd did the wave at a wavves concert?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 8:20 PM

what is this shit?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 8:43 PM

i was goign to get a ticket to the bowery show but now ill get one to msg so i can see dirty projectors also

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 9:02 PM

It's official. Saying you played at MSG it's not what it used to be.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 10:06 PM

Yeah, but how *many* nights in row is WAVVES playing the Garden? Oh, just 1? Thought so.

Posted by Bruce Springsteen | July 13, 2010 10:27 PM

Who is Wavves?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 10:48 PM

im into it. also did anyone get ga tix i didnt see them as on option...

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 10:53 PM

this will sell out cause Phoenix is huuuge. and awesome. you guys are idiots.

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2010 11:20 PM

so glad I made this little bitch cry in philly

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 12:05 AM

wavves are absolutely terrible. "no hope kids" is one of the worst songs i have ever heard in my life. if you listen to this band you clearly just enjoy listening to what the blogs tell you to listen to.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 12:16 AM

my favorite wavves song is "viva la vida"

that is wavves, right?

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 1:17 AM

what a dreadful show. god how can someone listen to phoenix

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 2:14 AM

"They are boring rich kids who can't play for ahit anyways"

i would rather get my ass kicked every day by Jay Reatard than play with that guy.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 4:05 AM

MSG stock drops another 6 points

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 5:27 AM

Pathetic.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 8:16 AM

I thought the stuff before the new record was trash over-hype blog filler, BUT..."Post Acid" is a refreshingly youthful track in the same way "the sweater song" was when i was a kid. Kids will be rocking this record for YEARS. Deal with it.

Posted by Not-Anonymous | July 14, 2010 9:46 AM

go away

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 10:35 AM

@946. Sweater Song was known by 9 out of 10 kids in that songs target audiance when it was released. 9 out of 10 kids today think wavves's name has a typo in it because they have never heard thier music. Kids will be rocking out to this for weeks...maybe.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 12:34 PM

This is the most recent sign of the impending apocalypse. Time to get into my fallout shelter.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 1:12 PM

apocalypse is every day, apocalypse just ended, apocalypse just started, i am the apocalypse, you are the apocalypse, apocalypse is over, apocalypse is nearly happening, apocalypse is long past, apocalypse is now

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 1:20 PM

We'll see. The album doesn't even come out until August 3rd.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 1:24 PM

@1:24- its been streaming on blink 182, er, wavves website all month.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 1:30 PM

Right, but as far as Wavves catching on, we won't really know until the album gets out and starts circulating.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 1:37 PM

I know, I was sort of just looking for an excuse to say that many of these songs sound like blink 182 songs.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 1:45 PM

wammeehhes

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 2:00 PM

Hey 1:45 that is really not fair to Blink 182.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 2:43 PM

@1:20 - is that you Nathan??

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 5:03 PM

@5:03- Nah, Nathan would probably claim that the apocalypse began in Spain when people threw shit at him for being a total dick onstage.

Posted by Anonymous | July 14, 2010 5:57 PM

Dudes I was tripping balls. Forgive and forget.

Posted by Nathan | July 14, 2010 9:30 PM

SHIT, I forgot you guys were in a band and have already played MSG, and made it in the music business! I also forgot that all you angry commenters know everything and your opinion is all that matters.
Well, shit. I guess you guys are all fucking right.
Shut the fuck up, seriously? If you don't like it keep your damn mouth shit, there's no reason to be a dick.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 5:32 PM

Let us not forget amidst this Wavves bashing how much Phoenix sucks as well.
