Beirut @ MHOW in 2009 (more by Kyle Dean Reinford)

today in NYC
* Whiplash @ UCB
* Sir Richard Bishop @ Zebulon
* Jim Campilongo @ Living Room
* Vivian Girls, Dutch Treat @ Union Pool
* Beirut & Woom @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
* Kaki King, The Ballet & Julia Weldon @ Littlefield
* Unrest, Tuscadero, True Love Always, Jonny Cohen @ The Bell House
* Faith No More, Neil Hamburger & James Chance @ Williamsburg Waterfront
Yesterday was July 4th, but today is the day lots of people get off work, so I hope you're enjoying your day off.
Sir Richard Bishop kicks off a four week residency at Zebulon tonight.
Vivian Girls are playing a show?!?! That used to be an extremely common occurrence. Now it's an extremely rare one.
Kaki King headlines a benefit at Littlefield which is where Holly Miranda is playing on Wednesday.
Tonight is Beirut's first of two shows @ Music Hall of Williamsburg. And there's a third show coming in a museum.
What else?

Faith No More were terrible back in the day, and they are worse now. This reunion is a disgrace.

^----- why bother commenting here then? A lot of people loved FNM and are excited for the reunion. You must be a dick.

I was excited for the FNM reunion till I saw it! Absolute garbage. Those old farts should have left their legacy alone. It's a shame what Patton's turned in to.

L Train indeed shut down.
The L train between Myrtle-Wyckoff and 8th Avenue will be out of operation from 5am Monday, July 5, to 5am Tuesday, July 6; free shuttles replace the trains on street level at each station. The route will continue to run from Myrtle-Wyckoff to Rockaway Parkway.
To compensate, late-night M service will be extended into Manhattan to 57th Street on Monday. Buses and other trains will follow a Saturday schedule in observance of the July 4th holiday.

Vivian Girls do not suck! They sell out every show they play, and they are known on a national level. They are awesome and if you dont know that by now, you must be from Ohio.

“Epic” Faith No More's first pop hit was released in 1989 and was a proper old timey hit.
Intern this means there fans are pop metal men up to there mid fifties who are not the Bushwick or Williamsburg set. Suburbia + Corn Syrup + Cars + Computers + Age = Obesity

In other words... they are the same fat people that all of you will be in 15-20 years.
