Will Sheff & Beth Wawerna @ Living Room
Sheff Beth

Tonight, Tuesday, August 24th, marks the third week of the Bird of Youth residency at the Living Room in NYC. Tonight's guest is Charles Bissell of the Wrens, so that should be especially good. The first week's special guest was Will Sheff who played solo, as a duo with (his girlfriend) Beth, and with her band Bird Of Youth who also played without him. Videos of all four situations, including previews of possible new Okkervil River songs, below...

Will Sheff - "Lay of the Last Survivor" @ the Living Room

Will Sheff & Beth Wawerna - Walked Out On A Line

Bird of Youth w/ Will Sheff - Stop Staring @ Living Room

Bird of Youth - When I Write The Book (Nick Lowe cover)

Anyone know how packed the Sheff show was, and what time one would arrive for tonight?

The Sheff night was totally packed. If you want a table, I'd get there like 7:30.

did everyone leave when he finished? or did the bird of youth bait and switch actually work?

He played after them - no bait and switch. A lot of people were there for them.
By the way - they were good.

2:16 - how is it a bait and switch when it's fully advertised as a Bird Of Youth show with "special guests". It's the bloggers that choose to turn the special guests into a headline. Aside from that, Bird Of Youth isn't bad at all.
