Despite the rain and potential lightning (Jelly can't catch a break), all four acts scheduled to play the free Pool Party at the Williamsburg Waterfront on Sunday got to play their sets. The bands, chosen by A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs' label Fool's Gold, were Telephoned, The Suzan, Kid Sister and Chromeo.

Senator Chuck Schumer, who earlier that day announced he helped restore the final Pool Party which is happening this coming Sunday (8/29) (Gucci Mane rumored to be one of the special guests), also made another appearance.

Posted by guuuurrrrllll | August 23, 2010 12:47 PM

Are they supposed to be like the Robert Palmer girls?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 12:48 PM

I really wish it didn't rain... It made my hummus soggy. :(

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 12:49 PM

that polaroid is here (http://ianperlman.tumblr.com/post/996687285/chromeo-more-grandpa-al)

Posted by ian perlman | August 23, 2010 12:50 PM

Wow, it looks like I missed out....not. It doesn't surprise me that Chromeo used Robert Palmer (rest his soul) rip offs because they are the most unoriginal band ever.

Posted by guuuurrrrllll | August 23, 2010 12:50 PM

People, don't bring umbrellas to rainy concerts because they block everyone's view and are just plain annoying. go to the dollar store and buy a cheap poncho and everybody will have more fun.

not at this show though- it looks lameh.

Fool's Gold doing J-Pop bands now? Get the fuck outta here with that bullshit. Stick to big-room house.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:04 PM

It's pretty simple...Chromeo sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:14 PM

Chromeo is the modern take on daryl hall and john oats.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:22 PM

SINCE WAY BACK!

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:24 PM

I want to marry the Robert Palmer girls.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:28 PM

cute asian girl in front, get at ME!

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:39 PM

they are still relevant?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:39 PM

In 2010 the only relevant thing is hummus and pita triangles.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:41 PM

wow why didnt let the bands(Cap n Jazz,No Age) weeks before do the same but let this shitty unoriginal dance bands play in the rain, OSA, JELLY , SCHUMER WHATEVER

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:42 PM

1:41 is right.

and don't worry the Hummus Mehs will be playing this soon and it will be raining hummus.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:50 PM

OSA/State cancelled the Captain Jazz show you fools. As a result JELLY fought them every step of the way on this date and made it happen, at least that's what a JELLY intern told me but he looked a little bit like Chuck Schumer and was covered in hummus so I don't know if we should trust him...

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:52 PM

@1:39. maybe talk to her?

nah - just facebook creep

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:54 PM

Chromeo was amazing, as were all of the bands yesterday. All of you haters should just move back to Jersey and LI and save your parents some money. You're all just upset that you sat at home and got fatter smoking shitty pot. You missed out, the senator was passing around a blunt of gov. issued chronic yesterday.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 1:55 PM

^huh?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 2:04 PM

can't believe this went on but the Cap'n Jazz/Lightning Bolt/No Age (which was the best lineup of the summer) turned into a clusterfuck

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 2:39 PM

People that like Chromeo hate hummus and take Flinstone vitamins.

Posted by guuuurrrrllll | August 23, 2010 2:51 PM

show owned, fags. smfd.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 3:20 PM

Miss U/H8 U Hummus

Posted by DanCo | August 23, 2010 3:48 PM

did anyone fart in the pit?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 4:00 PM

bringing an umbrella to a show is incredibly rude, obnoxious and just fucking stupid. your choices are to get wet, wear a poncho or stay home. it's self-absorbed bullshit behavior. if you disagree, you bring umbrellas to shows. i know, cognitive dissonance can be a real motherfucker can't it?

Posted by kowloonwalledcity | August 23, 2010 4:21 PM

....okay, but did anyone fart in the pit?

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 4:23 PM

Re: the hyperbolic Twitter comments.

I'm sure Chromeo at Williamsburg Waterfront will enter the annals of all-time legendary shows.

Re: "I'm sure Chromeo at Williamsburg Waterfront will enter the annals of all-time legendary shows."

I'm sure the Chromeo show will go down in history of being the most mediocre show in a span of mediocre shows Waterfront shows.

What is that crazy camera the guy in the red shirt has? Doesn't look like something that should be out in the rain...please post your pictures camera guy.

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 5:25 PM

The cap'n jazz show was moved because someone from jelly threw a police barricade at some cops, the rain had only caused a delay of the show up until then

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 6:35 PM

it's a polaroid camera, and i did (http://ianperlman.tumblr.com/post/996687285/chromeo-more-grandpa-al)

Posted by Anonymous | August 23, 2010 10:35 PM

@ian perlman
Woah, cool photos. Nice to see some creative concert photography.

Posted by Anonymous | August 24, 2010 12:03 AM

thank you
if only BV or another blog would toss me some cash for film, i'd shoot an entire show in polaroids

Posted by ian perlman | August 24, 2010 2:23 AM

Who was that super douche photographer on stage with the long hair? I could barely watch the concert for the spectacle of that super douche. He would take pictures of girls in the crowd then blow creepy kisses at them. Though maybe it was dudes, who knows. I don't normally call people douche, but this dude was off the charts. His mere existence is one the most offensive things I have ever encountered. I just wanted to take a metal bar to his face for the sake of humanity.

Chromeo were SO Dope, but the opening acts, especially the Japanese chix, were SO Butt. Thank Gawd Chromeo redeemed that show.
