Cornershop

Cornershop will be touring the U.S. for the first time in eight years this fall, including a November 19 stop at Irving Plaza (tickets). The group released their fifth album, Judy Sucks a Lemon for Breakfast, on these shores back in the spring (out in the UK last summer). It's a welcome return from Tjinder Singh and crew who haven't released anything new  -- apart from a couple singles -- since 2002's Handcream for a Generation. In the interim the band have apparently been working on a film about the UK independent music industry.

Look out for a new EP from Cornershop around the time of the fall tour. Below, you can check out videos to a few of the new album's singles, plus all announced North American tour dates...

Cornershop were one of those good bands whose radio hit actually killed their career... Kind of pointless now and cant see them filling Irving Plaza... too bad

Not surprised that some people have no idea how good this band is.. . ........your loss

In 1997, Spin listed Cornershop's "When I Was Born for the 7th Time" as their number 1 album of the year. Radiohead's "OK Computer" came in at number 2.

As insane as that sounds, Spin was dead on.

If you wrote them off as a one-hit wonder, simply put -- it's your loss. A welcome return to the US of a truly great, hard-working band. Can't wait for this show.
