The Jesus Lizard at FFF 2009 (more here)
The Jesus Lizard

Dear lord. In their fifth year in existence, it looks like Austin, Texas's Fun Fun Fun Fest have gone all out. First, the previously two-day fest will expand to three (!). It's happening November 5th, 6th & 7th at Waterloo Park and will feature headlining sets from MGMT, DEVO, Mastodon, Bad Religion, Slick Rick, RJD2, A-Trak, GWAR, The Hold Steady, The Dirty Projectors... WEIRD AL YANKOVIC and more. In addition, look for sets from such notables as Cap'n Jazz, Deerhunter, Polvo, Wavves, Municipal Waste, High On Fire, Suicidal Tendencies, Jeff The Brotherhood, Floor, Kylesa, The Bronx, Devin The Dude, Yelle, Pharoahe Monch, and too many other names to count. Looks amazing, and tickets are currently on sale. - BBG

Perfect lineup for people who started reading Pitchfork 2 years ago but were also into terrible punk and hardcore in high school.

Ummm....Deerhunter? A dumb punk band? Kaki King? Hold Steady? MGMT, Devo, Dirty Projectors, Mastodon, Kylesia, Valient Thor? Actually, I'm buying a ticket because Deerhunter will be followed by Wavves...and there is no Black Lips on the bill! That Orange stage is hot!

lovin the troll @ 6:00 because it proves that we've gotten to the point where liking Wavves is an effective antagonistic motion

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 6:20 PM

"Get your plane tickets now."

And don't forget to check with your airline for special meals like "Vegan". This will avoid the dreaded Continental "meatloaf" burger or other microwaved mystery foods.

Too bad I'm not personally pulling in the banner ad revenue to fund this in advance, but I appreciate the "plan ahead" sentiment.

So glad I live in Austin

Hipster fest.... Shit gets worse and worse

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2010 12:24 PM

still overusing the word hipster, especially to a fest that is this diverse and not directed towards that? you are 2 years late, child.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2010 5:01 PM

suicidal, bad religion, municipal waste, ringworm, snapcase, vandals...definitely hipster material.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2010 5:37 PM
