gorillagorilla

Tickets for the Gorillaz show at Madison Square Garden are now on Sub Division (fan club) presale. They go on more public presales Thursday (8/5) from 10 AM until 5PM. Passwords include "HEBEACH" and "flute". Public sale begins Friday at 10am. The best seats cost $125 each!

Speaking of MSG, tickets for Arcade Fire/Spoon/Owen Pallett TONIGHT (8/4) are back on sale and tickets for Thursday (8/5) are still available.

Arcade Fire covered Jay Reatard Monday night at the Mann Center in Philly. Video below...

No actually the first 5 rows cost $350 and rows 6-12 will cost you $225.....

Damon loves to make his money....

So even if you're a fan club member, you can't get better than first 12 rows....

How much were Apollo shows again? I believe they were $60 at the most!

It's not Damon, it's Live Nation. They're doing a more steep grade on ticket prices for bigger shows now. It's a new thing they're trying out, assuming that there are enough people who are stinking rich will pay $325 for Gorillaz front row. Though, supposedly, part of the plan is to sell nosebleeds for cheap, for people who want to go but can't afford it... that being said, I'm not really seeing the "cheap" seats for this show... so...

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 12:05 PM

I'm guessing set times for tonight will be.....

7pm Doors
8-8:30pm Owen P
845-930pm Spoon
10-1130pm AF

Can someone call Mercury Lounge to confirm?

gorillaz are over rated and over priced...

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 12:15 PM

"Planet of the Apes" > (hey hey) The Monkees > Gorillaz

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 12:21 PM

Apollo was $75 for Orch

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 12:21 PM

Agreed 12:15

And Panopticon, don't think for a minute that the artist does not have anything to do with ticket prices. At the end of the day, the artist's guarantee is still driving the price.

Did you know that gorillas are vegan? Most people think they are meat eaters, but the facts are that a gorilla will opt for hummus before they opt for a corndog.

12:09 - do you not have a phone?

Actually, most people know that gorillas are herbivores. Guess you and your hummus jokes are the dumb one(s).

You really are a loser, dude. You need a new schtick fast.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 12:45 PM

I would guess
8:00-8:20 Owen P
8:30-8:50 Spoon
9:10-11:00 Arcade Fire

All these big shows end by 11.

Posted by nsfw | August 4, 2010 12:52 PM

Spoon will most likely do 45-60 min

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 12:54 PM

yeah, spoon will def get more than a 30 min slot. i think the "curfew" at msg before the union guys require overtime is 11:30. as such, i think 12:09's prediction is probably pretty accurate. if af plays for less than 75 mins i will feel short-changed, personally.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 12:57 PM

really hoping they cover wavves again tonight, that would be so absolutely radical

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 1:04 PM

@ 11:58....The show was awesome, although you seem like a scrotum

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 1:04 PM

I think AF is on at 10 since tomorrow's webcast starts at 10.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 1:05 PM

just spoke to merc box office

op - 8
spoon - 8:45
af - 10:15

not sure what that means as far as set length, but at least it's a bit helpful

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 1:07 PM

thanks 1:07!

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 1:10 PM

11:30pm's not a strict curfew. I think Neil Young played till like 12:30 two years ago, which stunned me. Bands probably do pay a lot more when they go over, as 12:15 said, to reimburse the union guys.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 1:36 PM

1:04 - No he isn't. Dude is speaking the truth. Philly really is a shit city

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 2:01 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 2:49 PM

I have tickets for section 120, Row B, seats 3 & 4 - would anyone here happen to know if they'll be serving hummus in this section?

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 2:49 PM

spoon played 16 songs in philly, this is closer to a split bill than an opener/closer relationship

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 2:51 PM

can someone go to SEC 120, ROW B and kill the people sitting in seats 3 & 4? TIA!

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 2:56 PM

good luck, because i lied.

i have seats 5 & 6.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 2:59 PM

im ga9 and im goin to the pit

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 3:40 PM

I'm only going for Owen Pallet.

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 3:43 PM

Who is Spoon? Is their name some sort of a reference to a ladle used for serving hummus?

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2010 8:11 PM

The remaining seats sucks.....
