Grinderman are Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos. On September 14th they will release their new studio album Grinderman 2 via Anti-Records and follow with a tour of North America beginning on November 11th.

Together Grinderman have forged a distinctly different way of working, having cast off musical baggage, shrugged off accepted wisdom and tested pre-conceptions about who they are as musicians. The new album was co-produced by Grinderman and Nick Launay (Public Image Ltd, Birthday Party) and mixed by Launay.

Grinderman will kick off their North American tour November 11th in Toronto, Canada. [ANTI]

Grinderman will play Nokia Theatre in NYC on November 14th. Tickets will probably go on sale soon.

Metamorphosis, another Nick Cave and Warren Ellis project, debuts at BAM on November 30th.

Anything is better than Terminal 5.

Did they do a proper tour for the last album or was the only NYC date opening for the White Stripes? That first album was amazing (so was the last Bad Seeds) and it was disappointing to not see them play it live.

the couple of times i've been there i always felt like the sound wasn't loud enough or something at Nokia. other than that, cool venue. can't wait for this

This album cover is even cooler than the first one.

Saw them last time, will definitely go see them again! Stoked.

Nokia sound is a mixed bag. I've been to both terrible and good sounding shows there. It might not be the best venue in the city and sure we got the usual "Let's do NYC on a Sunday night because New Yorkers will come to the show regardless." Still they're playing and it's not at Terminal 5 or Roseland, so I'm happy.
