Ink and Dagger with the late Sean McCabe, RIP
Ink & Dagger

Ink & Dagger was a Vampire-themed punk band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that was active in the 1990s. The two permanent members throughout the band's career were guitarist Don Devore and vocalist Sean Patrick McCabe. Other members included Ashli State, Terry Yerves, Ryan McLaughlin, Joshua Brown, Jennifer Park, Graham "The Tank" Williams and Eric Wareheim, co-creator and star of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim shows Tom Goes to the Mayor and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!. Band members frequently incorporated references to vampires in their music, painted their faces, and played with fake blood. Some members were previously in Crud is a Cult, The Mandela Strike Force and Frail. -[Wiki]
One of the bands that people are drooling over on the sold-out This is Hardcore 2010 lineup is the returning Ink & Dagger with Thursday's Geoff Rickly will filling the hole left by the late Sean McCabe (they play the Philly Fest on August 15th). Now comes word that the Philly band will play Party Expo in Brooklyn on August 12th alongside another band TBA. Get ready to get nuts.

Other bands who are playing This is Hardcore like Nails, Ceremony, Judas, The Love Below, Starkweather, and Ringworm all have NYC shows in the near future too. Nails is set to play Europa with Venomous Concept (tickets). Judas and The Love Below are scheduled to play Acheron on 8/13 with Pollution and Megasus. Ceremony will play ABC No Rio and Death By Audio this weekend. Ringworm takes the stage at Santos the same day as Ink & Dagger (tickets) and with Seraphim.

In preparation for the show I will be making my own yogurt.
Hey Geoff would you prefer to be pelted with blueberry or strawberry?

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2010 2:44 PM

That Ceremony show is gonna be sloppy. I dig their albums, and when they play on a stage where theyre not getting swarmed every 2 seconds, then yeah they can put on a good show. But ABC is gonna be a mess. I'm going to see Magrudergrind instead.

Posted by GregBX | August 6, 2010 2:45 PM

Strawberry. Are you making it from scratch or growing it from a small batch of store bought?

Posted by Geoffrey Rickly | August 6, 2010 2:48 PM

I'm throwing iiiiiiciclesssssssssss

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2010 3:20 PM

at your heart

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2010 4:06 PM

@Mr. Rickly

From scratch of course, DIY TILL DEATH! And the strawberries will be organic don't worry.

If you want to discuss my yogurt making process at the show I'll be the guy in the fur coat.

NO sean, NO ink n dagger..cant be replaced. why is this happening?

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2010 4:18 PM

Their TIHC appearance is a benefit. I'm assuming this show is too.

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2010 4:20 PM

@4:18 I'd assume that the benefit show at TiH, which seems to be for a close friend of Sean's, is a big pay-day event. Maybe the band got all practiced up and decided they didn't want to have a tough-guy fest be the only thing they played. Then again, maybe they need drugs and VICE promised them some.

jesus fucking christ at these comments

Posted by steve | August 6, 2010 5:58 PM

Where does it say vice has anything to do with this show?

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2010 6:07 PM

Former VICE-president, Walter Mondale, is presenting the show... with Rich Hall, I believe.

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2010 7:36 PM

Yeah dude, TIH is a total tough guy fest. Sheer Terror, Kid Dynamite, Ceremony, Mindset, Foundation, The Rival Mob, Blacklisted, Cro-Mags, Bane, Starkweather, Outbreak, Pulling Teeth, Ringworm, Touche Amore, Hands Tied, Hour of the Wolf; none of those bands can come close to being confused with tough guy hardcore. And those are only the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Try again.

Smacked down!

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2010 1:15 AM

Fair enough. Merauder and Bulldoze though...

Posted by Anonymous | August 7, 2010 11:12 AM

I agree, no SPM, no I&D. This may be interesting nonetheless. Another 90's band I can pretend to like but never listened to.

Posted by Mizra | August 7, 2010 9:22 PM

Just a lil heads up...we're also playing September 17th and 18th in LA at the Eagle Rock Performance Center...there, I said it. See you in hell fucks.

Posted by Joshua Brown | August 8, 2010 5:05 PM

does anyone know why they chose the terrible singer from terrible thursday to lead i&d? maybe they were trying to drive home an actual feeling of sacrilege, to align with the band's unholy lyrical content. if so, well played!

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2010 2:46 PM

Geoff, nice job tonight, bro.

Posted by Ryan McLaughlin | August 13, 2010 2:56 AM

I like very much their last the beginning I didn't find them so cool, but now I've changed my mind.
