Joanna Newsom

"Arcade Fire will appear on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart tonight [August 12th]. They'll perform "Ready to Start" from their new album The Suburbs which is currently the # 1 record in the country!

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart airs on Comedy Central at 11 PM EDT / 10 PM CST. Check your local listings for channel information and set your DVRs.

The Suburbs is available on CD, dbl-LP and digital download (with special digital artwork) in the Merge store."

Speaking of the Merge store, Arcade Fire weren't the only Merge band that just released an album. 2:42 gets it. Everybody seems to love that song.

At least they aren't playing "Month Of May"--and, hey, they don't have another show until Saturday in Toronto . . .

She sounds great! but since everyone on this site is into anonymous complaining: I don't like all the Bud Lite signs, they're lame.

Dam VS why is your only NYC date tonight. Making me go to Boston and shit.

Really though, what the fuck is with her "slow" look while singing at the side of her mouth? Man, it is beyond annoying

True Love Always are on that VS show tonight!

This girl is beautiful. Her music is wonderful. I'm in love.

Every time I look at the profiled picture, I think she's naked playing the harp and that dress is blurred out naughty bits...

how did this sub-Bjork horseshit get so popular? totally agree with 2:26.

Who cares what she looks like, you rape-apes: Her live shows are amazing.

yeah she looks really annoying.

any one talking about Jo's "angled" mouth singing is completely oblivious to the reality of the voice as an instrument. imagine if the strings of the harp could only be stroked in one direction. the crispness, exactitude, and vulnerability regarding her artistic choices is astonishingly personal. As if one could hear the mind singing.

if you don't like her, why do you take the time to say so? you are like a child stomping your feet... grow up, i would love her music if she was any shape, race or sex, her music is beautiful and if you actually took the time to listen to it you would be astounded at its structural elements; not to mention the harp is one of the most difficult instruments to play and Joanna spent most of her life devoted to learning it.

music is different, it comes in all forms. but if you don't like something write it off and move on. this negative vibe that seems to be recurring in every blog, youtube comment and amazon review is so pointless. stop screaming at the top of your lungs, nobody wants to hear comments like,

"if she was 45 and two hundred pounds, nobody would give a shit about her..."

her music has helped me cope through so many things and her looks have absolutely nothing to do with it. i can't believe i even took the time to write this...
