Man or Astro-man? @ the Horseshoe Tavern
Man or Astroman?

The eagle has landed, and it's filled with tesla coils and weirdo costumes. After triumphant sets at SXSW and NXNE (where they shared a bill with Mudhoney), the outer extravaganza known as Man or Astro-man? will touch down on the east coast for at least seven shows this November! That trip includes two shows in NYC. They'll play Bowery Ballroom on November 12th and then a show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on November 13th. Tickets for the Brooklyn show are currently on AMEX presale with regular sale kicking off on Friday (8/13) at noon. No tickets for the Manhattan show yet.

All dates, some videos and more pictures from the NXNE show (like the one above), below...

Sweet! I have always liked this band, especially the 1st two cds and the singles comp.

FUCK YES!

Man or AstroMan? remind me of GBV in regards to constantly touring. In the late 1990's, early 2000's, this band was always a staple at Maxwell's. Hopefully they will add a show there. Last time I saw them was at the Mercury after they released Infinite Spectrum.

I guess the Polyphonic Spree royalties don't cover the mortgage anymore.

Excitement!!!

Yup, they were at the first Siren. I remember talking to the guitarist afterwards and he told me that he kept messing up because he was distracted by the Cyclone.

Yea. These dudes rock out. Lots of hip thrusting on stage!

i was on the cyclone while they were playing, so in a sense that was my fault! my apologies, Astromen.

love these guys. aside from seeing them a couple of times, i also saw two shows of the clone tour (two different -versions- clones of the band). glad to see them back. i think the MHOW show might be smaller no?

Great band live and their first two or three albums are excellent. They actually made surf music progress. Although they weren't just that type of music all the time. Television Man is a good cover song.
