"Los Campesinos! rockin' the crowd, literally."

That doesn't make any sense.

Thank god we don't have to give ticketrapist any money via the Galleryac link.

@ 2:01 - they typically come jam off the stage on the floor for their last song

I dunno, I like them but after they kicked out Ollie....

I know. But "Los Campesinos! rockin' the crowd, literally" still doesn't make sense. If they were literally rocking the crowd, there would be rocks and blood everyone. It's like saying "I was so high last night, I literally ate a refrigerator full of hummus."

Ollie is gone?!?!?!? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I wouldn't use "literally" here but it does make sense; "to rock" is used in the musical sense, so "literally" to rock the crowd would not call to mind throwing objects.

Only thing is, "rocked the crowd" is not a metaphor but rather a colloquialism meaning "caused us to enjoy ourselves, with music" so there's no need to emphasize "literally." Still, it works.

A good use of "literally" would be if you would have said they "literally" played all night long and they really did start at, say, 8 p.m. and played until 5 in the morning.

Anyway, they kinda blow. Fucking boring.

Or, you know, if you would have said that they "literally" sucked balls last night and they actually did, you know, give a...

@5:32 - you are literally a "douchebag"

Posted by Anonymous | August 26, 2010 5:41 PM

5:32 typed that out on his iPad while sitting in Starbucks wearing thick-rimmed glasses, flannel, and drinking a mocha while listening to Wild Nothing.

That sucks that they kicked out Ollie. As cute as he was, he just couldn't keep up. Poor kid. Keep practicing....

Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
