Oberhofer @ Public Assembly in June

Oberhofer were added as first-of-three opener for Autolux/This Will Destroy You at Bowery Ballroom tonight (Aug 26th). Tickets are still on sale for that show and for the one at Music Hall of Williamsburg (where Light Pollution is first-of-three), and for Maxwell's too (where it's only the two bands).

The first MP3 above is from Oberhofer's new/debut o0O0o0O0o 7". The second one is a repost from February.

Oberhofer also has a show coming up at Monster Island Basement on September 17th with Small Black, Indian Jewelry & Total Slacker. They/he recently played a show at Mercury Lounge with Twin Sister and Memoryhouse, and back in June he played a Northside Festival show at Public Assembly. More pictures from both of those NYC shows, and all dates below...

I love this kid. that monster island show will be a blast.

Autolux will be on around 11

brad oberhofer: biggest joke in the city? seriously, the kid's lucky that he's receiving any "attention" at all because he has no TALENT. and to determine that, just watch a video of him playing, and you'll know what i mean. he'll be even more of a joke in a few months.

even more satisfying than just saying this: knowing he'll read this comment.

@1:16... you're kidding right?

His free EP was one of the most refreshing things I've heard in the past year.

I have no idea how this stuff translates to stage, but dude has talent.

^^ nice try, "mechanic" (obvious you are brad)

so much hate on this board. but usually the hate is justified haha.

Posted by Anonymous | August 26, 2010 1:27 PM

he is actually good... granted I love it when people hate hate hate so he actually sucks ass....

if he can keep releasing new stuff he will end up becoming the new vampire weekend... though not as big because it is not as original

fuck me and fuck dogs

I'll bet dinner and a movie that 1.16pm is Brad himself. BV comments should be that meta...

@1:16 Sorry no one likes your band, bro. It's probably a sign that your music isn't very good. Keep at it. Don't give up.

I heard he doesn't even eat Hummus. Fucking bastard.

Posted by Anonymous | August 26, 2010 4:52 PM

I'm just having a good time!

And I pity the foolish retard who believes this shit

Posted by Hulk Hogan | August 26, 2010 6:59 PM

I like this band. I think they are good.

Posted by Anonymous | August 26, 2010 7:37 PM

can't believe you ppl even pick on kids
even if they're music did suck they're too adorable to say anything mean about

seeing them this summer and dancing around was the most fun i had at a show this season!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2010 12:09 AM

I was getting ready to hate them last night but I thought they were alright. Nothing I would go out of my way to listen to but they were fine for an opening band. Autolux were awesome. TWDY were great, too.

Pretty sure this band isn't allowed in, Mercury Lounge is 21+

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 4:43 PM

Who here has got laid recently... Everybody except 4:43.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 5:03 PM

oberhofer is legitimately blowing the fuck up. piles of 20 year old girls swooning over them last night... knowing the words, singing along

I totally agree, and I like a lot of electronic music. Most electronic acts sound better touring with a real band, i.e. The Field. And while we're at it: Real DJing is mixing tracks, not playing some songs cause you're semi-famous.

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
