I know it's a reach, but what if, just what if, it's Jay-Z??? He was at the Grizzly Bear finale last year, albeit in the audience, and didn't he try to make a free concert a couple of months ago? It would seem like this would be the perfect opportunity to have that surprise concert that he wanted!

Perfect opportunity for Big Freedia to duet with Gucci Mane for a little "Ass Everywhere"...assuming Gucci's time in prison taught him not to be a homophobe.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2010 7:37 PM

who the fuck is Gucci Mane?

Gucci Mane is Jellynyc's way of saying "we have no more money and this is the best we can do, we suck!" Talk about a pitiful way of ending a great run!.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2010 8:36 PM

I bet Pitchfork likes Gucci Mane, which makes it the "OK" kind of hip hop.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2010 8:48 PM

^Hipster Hop.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2010 8:52 PM

Hipster Hop is the new Chillwave!

fun pool party. so drunk.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2010 9:24 PM

dmc.... with andrew w.k..... with TIM HARRINGTON... followed by Doug E. Fresh

a kinda lame, kinda hilarious sight to witness

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2010 9:27 PM

in the end, the pool parties closed much like the finale of a medicore suburban fourth of july fireworks display -- an unpredictable kitchen sink of cheap hasbeen entertainment with the uncertainty of whether the charade will continue another year.

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2010 9:46 PM

whats the deal with the pokemon video. inappropriate for today i think, which is weird cause all the other ones were fine...

todays pool party was hilarious fun. dmc with andrew wk, hahahaha

Posted by Anonymous | August 29, 2010 9:54 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 1:34 AM

big freedia was amazing. worth being out in the hot ass sun at an otherwise mediocre show to see him play three songs. and for once vinnies wasn't mobbed so we got to sit inside. thanks hipsters, for blowing this one off and letting everyone else have all the fun instead. meh. hummus.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 2:01 AM

YOU ARE LISTENING TO PUNCHES...PUNCHES...PUNCHES.

Fuck you, you annoying twins.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 2:13 AM

So it really doesn't bother people that Michael Jackson molested kids?

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 2:57 AM

yes it does, special needs kids at that

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 5:27 AM

OSA confiscated my hummus at the gate.

Posted by chrysler5thavenue | August 30, 2010 6:06 AM

^learn grammar please, that makes no sense^

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 7:14 AM

"gucci get $ 30,000 a show, no way jelly was gonna pay that"

my bet, Jelly obviously had financial issues this year as proven by their spat with OSA. Gucci Mane is promoting a new album coming out next month. perhaps Gucci's label paid for the headlining spot to get some press and exposure to undiscerning hipster hop fans (using the new term!).

Gucci Mane was do derivative, by the way.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 7:38 AM

Gucci Kane is derivative, there'll be no need for the "wannabe gangsta version of drake" once wayne's free....

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 7:51 AM

nitorus mafia!

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 8:35 AM

"Music is a man of wisdom, human solidarity, to a world of music to the joy and gladness. the great musician was an indelible contributions to mankind, heard the music makes people easy to think of the great Michael Jackson, the fine as the voice of God give the wounded in the soul. we thank him, and will always love him"

Yeah. This shit makes absolutely no sense.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 9:25 AM

i'm not even into hipster hop and this was still a fun party. thanks jelly. and better luck next year!

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 9:31 AM

MEHssion accomplished.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 10:30 AM

calling people "derivative" in 2010.

get a grip.

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 10:34 AM

Posted by Anonymous | August 30, 2010 11:52 AM
