Bettie Serveert

Dutch band Bettie Serveert was originally scheduled to kick off their US tour today (9/23) with a show in Cambridge, MA before scooting down to Hoboken to play Maxwell's Friday night followed by Southpaw on Saturday, but thats all off now due to visa issues. The NEW tour kickoff will happen on Tuesday (9/28) in Toronto and the Maxwell's date has moved to 11/3 (tickets are on sale and previous ones will be honored), the Milford, CT date moved to 11/4 (ditto), and the Southpaw date is cancelled.

The rescheduled dates happen at the end of their tour which also includes a show at Bowery Ballroom on 10/29 (a few days before the new Maxwell's date). Tickets are still on sale for the Manhattan show (and no opener is listed).

Bettie Serveert recently released their new LP Pharmacy of Love (dig on a pair of videos from that below), and are also part of a super-mega Matador at 21 boxset currently available for preorder:

On September 28, on the eve of the label's 21st anniversary celebration in Las Vegas, the Matador at 21 box set lands in stores. The limited-edition box contains five CDs documenting the history of the label with remastered songs released from 1989 through 2010, and one CD of unreleased live recordings from the Matador 10th Anniversary concerts in New York City in 1999. These were recorded to multitrack via the Rolling Stones Mobile Truck and not mixed down until now.
Bettie Serveert are not playing the fest though.

Full tracklisting for the box set, which features songs from Teenage Fanclub to Unsane to Fucked Up to Pavement and everyone in between, is below with all tour dates and stuff...

BOX SET INFO

On September 28, on the eve of the label's 21st anniversary celebration in Las Vegas, the Matador at 21 box set lands in stores. The limited-edition box contains five CDs documenting the history of the label with remastered songs released from 1989 through 2010, and one CD of unreleased live recordings from the Matador 10th Anniversary concerts in New York City in 1999. These were recorded to multitrack via the Rolling Stones Mobile Truck and not mixed down until now.

As shown above, the set comes in a blue-grey foil-stamped linen-bound box. The six CDs sit in custom digipaks. An 85-page perfect-bound book documents the history of the label with essays, photos, ephemera, emails and more. In addition, the box holds 36 custom Matador poker chips in three values.

The release has been assigned the catalog number OLE-1000, which is pushing it a little bit because we're really only up to OLE-949 (the upcoming Kurt Vile 7?) in the main sequence. A budget-priced double vinyl set reproduces the contents of Disc 5, 'Matador Today,' and will be available on the same day as the box. All proceeds from the set will go to benefit three charities chosen by the label owners, enumerated at the bottom of this post. The artists have graciously agreed to donate their royalties as well in order to make this all possible.*

Omg, this is so sweet. I was annoyed I was going to miss them tomorrow and Saturday due to other shows. Definitely will catch them at those upcoming shows.

Blah, they need to reschedule Southpaw.

Still love this band. Selfishly wish the Chicago date were rescheduled too (or that they were playing Matador 21).

Ha! I was thinking the same exact thing, 3:16.

I caught BS the last time they did Southpaw. One thing I can say is that they certainly give value for money - played for over 90 mins.
