what time did you have to get there to get tix? if you showed up at 5:30 would you have gotten them

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 12:33 PM

def not, latest maybe 400

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 12:35 PM

Why were these $20 and why is no one making an issue out of it?

This is a loft party show for fuck sake.

Way to give back.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 12:42 PM

I was first one to get tickets. I was at the place at 11:30. Wasn't a bad day for waiting. And shut up about it being a loft party. The fuck, it's not everyday they play the early catalog.

Posted by CNC | September 22, 2010 12:44 PM

Yeah $20 for Yeah Yeah Yeahs in a small place, playing older material. I think it's worth it. If they played a free show it'd be insane. I gotta respect a band who goes back to their roots.

i love the meh meh meh's, she better be given out hj's

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 12:54 PM

who was the d-bag who walked down the line asking $200 for his extra ticket?

he:

- hadn't bathed in years
- doesn't have a single person in his life to go to the show with
- is clearly unemployed
- needs $200 b/c his parents shorted him on this months $2,600 rent payment

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 12:59 PM

They only gave out 150 tickets, and there were a lot more than 300 people who didn't get them.

Hollister Hoodie Crew...Represent Brah!

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 1:04 PM

I am willing to spend money on a scalper for this show, but no one wants to put a dollar amount on Craigslist. 40, 50, 100? How much?

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 1:07 PM

I'll trade my ticket for some fresh Hollister gear. YYY's is one night...a new hoodie will last all season!

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 1:11 PM

You people are all idiots.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 1:37 PM

who cares?

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 1:40 PM

cool broken social scene vinyl bro

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 1:49 PM

So is this how Todd P is making $$$ these days?

Since he can't book shows at Market Hotel anymore, he books mediocre band to play at small venues?

P.S. I bet Animal Collective or MGMT will play Todd P show soon!

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 1:57 PM

For all you hummus-heads, a good diet will help you rock a fly Hollister V-Neck.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 1:59 PM

in order to secure a ticket to this event, i might be willing to trade my blue hollister hoodie which happens to have multiple stains from incidents related to dipping into fresh hummus with red pepper.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 2:10 PM

Removing hummus stains is rather difficult. The high olive oil content really makes a substantial stain... Be careful people!

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 2:14 PM

Art Star is still an awesome tune! I seriously love that song!

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 2:39 PM

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 3:59 PM

Fuck Starks, I got my Karl Malone Utah jersey circa '95! Shit still fits because I was a fat ass back then. I love cocaine y'all!

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 4:04 PM

hey, the door money goes to expenses and to the bands, not to the promoter, just fyi for future reference.

if you have a problem with a ticket price, your scorn should lay with the band in question and their management.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 4:21 PM

do you have any idea how much bands like Animal Collective and MGMT and Yeah Yeah Yeahs typically make playing shows?

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 4:28 PM

Why not put the headline as "You're a ZERO" instead. This doesn't make fans feel loved. Stop doing this to your goddamn fans. Who is in charge of this shit? I know you have a living to make, but you are pushing us away.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkhX5W7JoWI

Posted by i'm a ZERO | September 22, 2010 5:16 PM

Who is pushing you away? The ticket price? Tickets sold out as fast as possible, so the price was definitely not an issue. Get a job.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 5:30 PM

Who? The band and your shitty ass promoter that's who. I am sticking up for all the fans who didn't hear jack shit about it. Maybe they can go play for some more douchebaggins at Fashion Week or suck on the teet of Todd P. It isn't about the price, it is about the simple fact that this post on this blog is a big "Go Fuck Yourself" to the rest of the fans. Next time keep it quiet. Nobody wants to hear you brag you hummus eating fuckface.

Posted by i'm a ZERO | September 22, 2010 5:44 PM

"I am willing to spend money on a scalper for this show, but no one wants to put a dollar amount on Craigslist. 40, 50, 100? How much?"

Dear newbie - that is the point. They make up a line of bullshit about how someone just offered them $300, you cave in and offer $350. Demand determines market value. Pick the max you would pay and still love yourself in the morning and stick to it. Start out offering face value.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 5:49 PM

"this post on this blog is a big "Go Fuck Yourself" to the rest of the fans. "

This post on this blog is a picture of two tickets that a fan got by waiting on line for 5 hours.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 5:50 PM

This was the most epic line ever. Line of the year for sure.

And I stand on a lot of lines so I know.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 6:03 PM

Do you realize how much hummus you can get for $350?

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 6:09 PM

" I am sticking up for all the fans who didn't hear jack shit about it. "

What difference would it have made? With little advance notice, the show sold out as fast as it possibly could have. If people knew a month ago, the situation would have been the same. The only people that got tickets are those without day jobs, so the only ones that have room to complain are those without day jobs that could have gotten tickets. But since they have no day jobs, I don't feel sorry for them.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 6:19 PM

what about the fans though? the real fans. the ones that have been there from the start. the ones that grew up with the band and shared the good days and the bad. the ones that know there's more the catalog than maps and pins. What about them?
This entire ordeal makes me sick to my stomach. I thought the yeah yeah yeahs care about their hardcore fans. I guess i thought wrong.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 6:50 PM

lol @ 6:50 PM

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 6:53 PM

Trolling is an art. ;)

Posted by troll | September 22, 2010 7:09 PM

6:50 Then you should've gone to see them back then. Shut up and stop crying.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 7:51 PM

7:51 You lose the game

Posted by Anon | September 22, 2010 8:03 PM

Hardcore fans know the song is called Pin singular and also follow their shit online and find out about such shows on Monday.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 9:26 PM

" I thought the yeah yeah yeahs care about their hardcore fans. I guess i thought wrong."

What else should they have done? They are playing a small intimate show for cheap. They are doing it right.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 9:46 PM

i will up the hummus anty. fresh baba ganoush.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 11:49 PM

"This entire ordeal makes me sick to my stomach. I thought the yeah yeah yeahs care about their hardcore fans. I guess i thought wrong."

so the YYYs put on a small show to celebrate 10 years and play old material many have not heard and its their fault that too many dipshits didn't know and are now unable to go?

Posted by matt | September 22, 2010 11:50 PM

the problem was all the people cuttin line with their friends who were already there. (each person could buy 2 tickets and did) i got there at 4:30ish and there were only like 50 people ahead of me... but then as it got closer to 6... everyone and their rude-ass uncles snaked into the line and bought all the tickets... leaving those who actually got there and waited with nothing. i hate people

Posted by Anonymous | September 23, 2010 1:04 AM

^ i hate the world

Posted by Anonymous | September 23, 2010 1:56 AM

"the problem was all the people cuttin line with their friends who were already there"

That does suck, but it's not the band's fault. The venue should have had better policies in place, but then again, they are not used to events of this type. I do not want to defend anyone, I haven't seen the YYYs play in the past 5 years, but you cannot hate a band that does a tiny, cheap show like this one.

Posted by Anonymous | September 23, 2010 9:19 AM

yeah-- agree totally-- wasnt blaming the band- its great that they did this show. i saw bonnie prince billy there in the spring and it was great
