Middle of the night purchase, this is great! Forget the Masonic Temple, I'm going to the church gig!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:04 AM

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:04 AM

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:07 AM

any idea about other on-sale dates?

Posted by oshoney | September 16, 2010 2:14 AM

just shot a huge load of hommus all over my monitor..

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:18 AM

will the show at st pauls be in the basement or what?

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:24 AM

never been to either venue. just got tix for the church gig. hopefully it ads to the epicness that this will be. thanks for the tip BV!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:38 AM

how cool would it be if they did a silver mt zion set also that same night. like 6 hours of awesomeness.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:40 AM

thats a great photo, but is that where the show actually is? i am sure it is a huge facility with a basement and other areas.. basically trying to figure out if I want to go down the street to Masonic or all the way into the city

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:47 AM

Yeah, I was just about to go to sleep when my phone beeped. Glad I bothered to read that email. Unfortunately, I went for the Brooklyn gig without bothering to research other dates. The Manhattan one looks amazing.

Posted by Davin | September 16, 2010 3:27 AM

Fuck it, I bought tickets to both shows. I'm sure I can sell one pair.

Posted by Davin | September 16, 2010 3:35 AM

Damn you SXSW!!!!!

Posted by TXn | September 16, 2010 6:58 AM

Thanks BV this is the jackpot!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 7:21 AM

St. Paul's Church is a no-brainer for this gig. It will be a long show & seats are mandatory for a show like this

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 7:27 AM

How wicked is that! I'm on!!!

Posted by the traveler | September 16, 2010 7:28 AM

wowowow

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 7:57 AM

During SXSW?!? Damn!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 7:58 AM

YES YES YES YES!

Posted by bobby the rookie | September 16, 2010 8:34 AM

i know wordless music has done shows at st. paul before (mew i think? there may have been others as well), so someone out there should know where they put the shows on. i've only attended mass and been married there.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 8:45 AM

YES!!!!! Nothing like waking up and watching $63 you shouldn't really spend disappear! Whatever, I've been waiting to see them for like, 10 years and I'm going BOTH nights!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 8:46 AM

"i know wordless music has done shows at st. paul before (mew i think?"

the jonny greenwood string show as well, which was awesome

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 8:49 AM

"the jonny greenwood string show as well, which was awesome"

so it was in the church. this will rule. my first church show since that spiritualized one uptown around time of let it come down.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 8:52 AM

Mum played St. Paul's and the Wordless Orchestra performed Jonny Greenwood's string orchestra piece there. It will definitely be in the sanctuary. The church has crazy reverb, but I'm sure GY!BE will use that to their advantage.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 8:56 AM

both nights nigga

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 8:59 AM

mum, that's what i meant. thanks 8:56

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 8:59 AM

Did any of you guys go to their shows before? I don't think their live show is anything to get too excited about. Ya, its cool people get to see them that never did, but its closer to a hippy drum circle than a rock show IMHO.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 9:05 AM

Just bought my tickets for the Church show. this is going to be amazing.

Posted by Enrique | September 16, 2010 9:12 AM

WHAT THE FUCK WHERE IS BOSTON>?!!?!??! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 9:13 AM

"Did any of you guys go to their shows before? I don't think their live show is anything to get too excited about. "

Be careful, all the fanboys are going to come down on you now. I posted the same thing before, and people were angry that I offended their sacred cow. I saw them last time around at the Bowery. They played in the dark with no audience interaction. Amazing music, but nothing special about their live show. Watch the comments fly.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 9:15 AM

If people sit, it could be amazing. If you get stuck standing, it could be a long night of weight shifting.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 9:24 AM

Agree with 9:15 and 9:24. Still, such a great band.

Posted by Brian F. | September 16, 2010 9:46 AM

1) Thank god Bowery Presents isn't booking these shows
2) I hope no one is sitting down.....
3) Coachella 2011

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 9:54 AM

going to BOTH!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 9:57 AM

Heading down from PVD for this. Got tix for the two New York.dates ... cant wait for Philly to go on sale too. This pretty much rounds out my "favorite bands not dead that I thought I would never see" list.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:05 AM

I saw GY!BE at Bowery last time, a long time ago, and the shows are intense. I hate to say it, I'm old and they are emotionally draining. I'd love it if I could sit.

That being said, I'm going to both shows and am ready for the jaws of life on my soul.

Posted by Your weird neighbor guy | September 16, 2010 10:11 AM

anyone else still refuse to accept the repositioning of the exclamation point?

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:20 AM

Got tickets to both shows, my head is spinning.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:24 AM

couldn't decide on which show to go to, so got both.

hopefully no power failures at masonic temple..

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:29 AM

Godspeed reunites, Swans reunite and a Grinderman show coming up! My inner brooding damaged seventeen year old is so excited!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:30 AM

I saw Do Make Say Think in a church once. While awesome, this will probably kick the fuck out of that.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:30 AM

wordless just made my day

saw them at bowery and warsaw last time, can't wait to see them again!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:31 AM

@10:05 i'm still waiting for at the drive-in reunion...

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:40 AM

@10:40 i'm still waiting for kurt cobain to rise from the dead

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:44 AM

Saw them at 9:30 Club, I guess, 8 years ago. Amazing show. Got a ticket for the church...should be a good one. Can't wait. Anyone have *any* details of how a show would operate at this church?

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:56 AM

@10:40 would only be good if lennon, hendrix, morrison and joplin also came back to life and they all performed together. otherwise, not worth it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 10:58 AM

What do these guys sound like? I've heard the name before, but never heard their music...I would hate to miss out on the chance to catch this if it's amazing, but again, I also hate dropping $60 bucks for a band I'm completely unfamiliar with...

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:01 AM

they sound like ce ce penistan

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:06 AM

saw GY!BE years ago at a masonic temple in baltimore and thought it was a phenomenal show. seam to remember some backdrop projections a la neurosis but that could be imagination after the years

dunno what the complaints are all about but must say i was seated the whole time and that definitely helped.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:09 AM

What do they sound like? Have you heard of google or youtube? wtf, make an effort...

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:11 AM

@11:09. You are right. The 9:30 show had the projections, an old school projector showing grainy images and I will always remember, grainy images of smoke stacks and pollution ala Newark via the NJ Turnpike. The group was just randomly spread about the stage.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:12 AM

Looks like I know what my St. Patrick's day plans are going to be...

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:13 AM

yea i saw the do make say think show at the church as well. great performance.

church is wayy better than then temple..

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:18 AM

FUCK, both sold out!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:19 AM

Hey Anon 11:11am, some of us on this board (obviously not you) have real jobs at desks amongst other people that don't allow us to play youtube clips, or we are too busy actually working to goof around on google. Of course, other people have jobs that do allow them to do so. One thing I am sure of, however, is that you have neither. Go back to sleep assclown, it's not even afternoon yet.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:23 AM

it's true... they only give you 15 minute breaks at Burger King, and GYBE songs are typically longer. help the guy out BV, he's got breakfast bowls to serve.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:27 AM

Ha. I may not know what they sound like, but I bought up a bunch of tickets. I have 6 months to get familiar with them. And if I don't like it, I'll just scalp them to you suckers.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:28 AM

Anon 11:28: maybe you should skip the show. Scalping is pretty much the antitheses of Godspeed.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:34 AM

breakfast bowls > scalping > godspeed

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:36 AM

Anon 11:34 - Yeah, and that's what they say about phish shows too...who's got my 10/31 AC show for face? HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:40 AM

whats real about sitting behind a desk all day

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:41 AM

sold out? ghay.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:46 AM

f'reals, i'm just going to have to go to the venue with my finger up, looking for a "miracle"

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:47 AM

I just got tickets for the Manhattan show. Had as much as 4 tickets in my cart... don't think it's sold out, but close.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:48 AM

Thursday sold out, Wednesday still on sale, try calling Ticketweb.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:52 AM

i saw mum play a wordless music series show at st. paul the apostle church in november 2008. it as a rainy night and is a beautiful venue-as said in a previous post, there's definitely some reverb there, but if you can get there early and sit in one of the pews, it's a beautiful and unique space for a show-especially for godspeed. i got to mum late and had to stand along the edges-you can see fine, but perhaps not hear as well along the sidelines.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:55 AM

thursday is sold out. wednesday is still on sale, as of noon.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:56 AM

11:23 - Yet you can surf BV and post idiocy all day. But google is off-limits. Stop making a fool of yourself.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:57 AM

More tickets for the church just went on sale

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 12:13 PM

11:23 - Go back to sitting on a dick. Typing doesn't suit you.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 12:20 PM

FUCK GOT MY TIX BUT DIDNT REALIZE THIS IS DURING SXSW. NOOOO.

Posted by musician | September 16, 2010 12:22 PM

yeah, church is not sold out anymore, just got tix to both shows successfully

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 12:23 PM

needs to be seated plan on smoking multiple blunts to the dome for this ish

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 12:40 PM

During SXSW? Fuckin' sneaky Canadians!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 12:41 PM

how about some more shows North of America. Is a hometown show too much to ask ... Heavens

Posted by Breakfast Sandwiches | September 16, 2010 12:47 PM

I went with the temple. I imagine smoking is going to be tough in the church, no?

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 12:50 PM

All the northeast shows are during SXSW. On purpose?

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 1:09 PM

see, i went with the church, bc security is just more lax there, and i want to bring my GRAFFIX SIX FOOTER BRAH.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 1:10 PM

The MEH-sonic Temple for this one...am i right? Am I right?

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 1:18 PM

"All the northeast shows are during SXSW. On purpose?"

yea every musician or journalist who is a godspeed fan is probably very bummed right now. i got my tix without realizing that.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 1:25 PM

musicians, get real jobs and then you won't have to worry about sending you lame band down to sxsw every year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 1:33 PM

How many times can you hang out on 6'th Street and eat at Rudy's before you realize that NYC > Austin for music..and the whole Austin mystique is for people from Oklahoma.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:20 PM

There is more to SXSW than just music. I attended for the interactive portion and it's great meeting place with my peers from the west coast. I then stick around for the music part. Weather in Austin > weather in NYC in March (unless you have allergies). The movie part is all week long.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:24 PM

fucking sold out...fuck!

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:37 PM

hey so it looks like i just bought the last ticket at the masonic temple plth

Posted by aaron | September 16, 2010 2:38 PM

"How many times can you hang out on 6'th Street and eat at Rudy's before you realize that NYC > Austin for music..and the whole Austin mystique is for people from Oklahoma."

yea but if you're in a band playing there it's kind of a necessary thing.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:52 PM

Who wants to trade these stupid Godspeed you Light champion whatever tix I was gonna scalp for Phish at Atlantic City?

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 2:52 PM

fuck, been away from my comp since last night and this is what I get... If anyone has any extras, please don't be a dick and jack up the price

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 3:12 PM

YES oooh YES! Biggest missed show ever -
GYBE and Neurosis @ GAMH on Halloween.
It's gonna be a good weekend in February.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 6:35 PM

Saw them at the 4040 club in West Philly about 12 years ago. Everybody sat. Their projectionist was sick. It was kinda boring.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 7:13 PM

Well, this is what I get when you suddenly realize your debit card has been deactivated when trying to get tickets. The worst part was tickets were still on sale for both shows when I attempted this.

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:40 PM

Also, why am I seeing people asking for tickets after the sellout AS WE SPEAK, as if people already have spares? Just wait a week or so before the show, much better opportunities that way (plus less likely getting ripped off).

Posted by Anonymous | September 16, 2010 11:44 PM

i bought 6 tickets for me and my friends but just realized that its st patrick's day and none of us can go. I want to make sure that real fans get them (not scalpers) so I'll have to charge a bit extra (otherwise scalpers could buy them and sell them for profit). If anyone is interested leave an email address here.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 1:00 AM

yo, if you have an extra ticket I would be interested depending on how much extra. asautumndies(at)hotmail.com

Posted by D | September 17, 2010 1:35 AM

Go figure, after I type that, the next two posts are people trying to "sell" tickets already! Hahaha...

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 1:47 AM

hey, I would really enjoy one of those tickets. mike.ghan(at)gmail.com

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 5:15 AM

hey, i can use 2 of those tickets. my email is chrisaap@yahoo.com thanx for offering!

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 8:06 AM

I'd be interested in 1 ticket for the brooklyn or the new york show (both really). mahlerite122@gmail.com if anyone has an extra they're looking to sell.

Posted by Phil | September 17, 2010 8:44 AM

well, this is mighty generous and confusing:

"I want to make sure that real fans get them (not scalpers) so I'll have to charge a bit extra (otherwise scalpers could buy them and sell them for profit)."

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 10:34 AM

"i bought 6 tickets for me and my friends but just realized that its st patrick's day and none of us can go."

So you can't go because it's St. Patrick's Day? You and all five of your Irish friends? All of you treat St. Paddy's Day like Christmas? Do you make a yearly pilgrimage to anonymous Irish pubs in Midtown? It's such an important day to the six of you and yet you somehow had a momentary lapse when ordering the six tickets? If you're going to be a scalping douchebag at least be transparent about it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 10:58 AM

Yeah, it's so obvious that 1:00 is BS, it's downright laughable.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 11:50 AM

We'll be adding another NYC show.

Thank you,
Godspeed

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 11:53 AM

Dear Godspeed,

please add another NYC show for after SXSW so musicians who are fans of yours can attend also.

thanks

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 1:44 PM

Add another show at Terminal 5!

(please don't)

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 2:04 PM

selling a pair for each night $185 each email me at zendingo10@yahoo.com

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 4:25 PM

Oy, whoever has tickets for either night, do let me know. I need two, and I love GYBE, but failed to get to a computer fast enough apparently...

Posted by hgais | September 17, 2010 5:56 PM

185 per ticket? fuck yourself dude.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 8:17 PM

^^ i think it was a joke.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 8:34 PM

I can't believe people are looking for extras a day after the tickets went on sale. Do you really people purchased tickets and then a day later decided to sell them? Are you really that stupid?

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2010 8:53 PM

If not now, then when? It's the scalpers selling them now. If you wait until later, then you have to hope someone has decided not to go and wants to sell their ticket. Seems risky. Any idea what the demand is going to be for the Metro and Trocadero tickets? I still want to go, but I missed the NY sales...

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2010 11:38 AM

8:53 = Common sense

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2010 1:44 PM

I will trade a TOP SECRET hummus recipe for a ticket. It is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. This recipe dates back to 697 BC and utilizes some EXOTIC ingredients.
email me at hummuslove@hotbot.com

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2010 2:39 PM

FUCK YOU YOU SCALPING FAGGOTS!!! FOR BUYING TICKETS SO ACTUAL FANS CAN'T SEE THE SHOW. I HOPE YOU ALL GET HIT BY A FUCKING BUS!

Posted by George | September 19, 2010 5:28 PM

I'm sure there'll be tix face value or even cheaper once the shows get closer.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2010 5:57 PM

"I'm sure there'll be tix face value or even cheaper once the shows get closer."

Definitely face, but probably not lower. These shows are not at big venues. Last time around, it was still hard to find tickets to the 4 shows they did. I sold one extra for the first Warsaw show, and I had a flooded inbox from all the requests.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2010 6:29 PM

wish there was love like this for silver mt zion shows. honestly i like silver better than godspeed. they are constantly getting better as musicians. amazingly talented people.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2010 7:55 PM

dont use the term "scalping". It's offensive. ticket brokers have kids too and ticket broking is a way to put food on the table for them. Think about that next time you complain.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2010 8:30 PM

the term "scalping" is only "offensive" if you are an american indian (native american).

so are the washington "redskins" and the idiotic looking cleveland "indians" caps to name two.

how would you like it if a foreign force invaded your homeland, wiped you out, and then name sports teams after you?

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2010 9:43 PM

godspeed, please don't add any more nyc shows. i want these shows to be exclusive, open to real fans. The guys that cared bought tickets. Only the fake poser fans missed out. Please dont reward them.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2010 9:47 PM

^comments from a "sccalper"

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2010 10:53 PM

a silver mt. zion blows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 20, 2010 1:56 PM

i dont know if 9:47 or anyone else is a ticket broker, but if he is one, i imagine he's a good man, an honest man, a decent man performing a service to make a living, like most other ticket brokers are.

Posted by Anonymous | September 20, 2010 2:32 PM

Yeah, just remember that when someone buys an in-demand good and immediately sells it at twice or thrice its original value to some poor sucker who missed the boat, that they're a good person just trying to make an honest living.

Posted by Anonymous | September 20, 2010 3:07 PM

its been so long i cant remember if i like this band or not. i remember getting into glenn branca and swans and finding out they were killer immediately but i can't remember anything about that initial godspeed discovery... their ATP festival sure is cool at least. maher shalal hash baz and country teasers and keiji haino!

Posted by Anonymous | September 20, 2010 4:58 PM

hey, whoever has extra tickets and is willing to sell them, e-mail me at mattvidalis@hotmai.com. thanks, appreciate it.

Posted by Matthew Vidalis | September 20, 2010 11:19 PM

close or under face? yeah, right. look at the supply on stubhub. almost non existent, and all priced accordingly. accordingly being, high enough so that the "fans" who failed to get tickets when they went on sale are punished enough for not being fans enough, yet claiming that they are. pay attention, hipsters. it's called the internet. you don't have to miss a show and pay over face value. be a real "fan".

Posted by Anonymous | September 21, 2010 1:08 PM

@9:47 if thats the case then there is no real need to see them because you probably saw them 20 times way back. At least I know I did.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2010 10:40 PM

they a terminal 5 show. everyone who got tickets to the first brooklyn masonic show thinkin it was the first show. You mad? btw im not a huge fan of terminal 5 but fuck it GY!BE will make it awesome

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 4:18 PM

I'm looking for 2 reasonably priced tickets for either of the Masonic Temple shows... e-mail me at discoparlante(at)gmail(dot)com.

Posted by JDS | December 14, 2010 10:45 PM

Hey,
Any word on there being further releases of tickets possibly at the venues? I just called the church and they don't know anything about the show.

Please if anyone has extras I'd love to grab them mlyons(at)pentland(dot)com

And btw i'm not a fake poser fan, sometimes things go over the heads of fans it just happens and now it's happened to me and i really really want to go!!!
