Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:26 PM

they should throw in a silver mt zion show if they're gonna be in town anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:26 PM

second

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:26 PM

you had to see it coming.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:26 PM

awesome... I was holding out, waiting for a REAL venue to get announced.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:28 PM

LOLNO.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:29 PM

"awesome... I was holding out, waiting for a REAL venue to get announced."

if terminal 5 is a "real" venue to you, i'm afraid to know what "real" music is to you as well.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:29 PM

uhhh "real venue" 12:28?

that's easily going to be the worst of the bunch. T5 is a blemish on the face the NYC venues.

You really wanna see Godspeed at the same place MIA just headlined- over a masonic temple/church?

yeesh.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:31 PM

BV- why the same godspeed pic every post about them? anything else available?

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:33 PM

um... i'm pretty sure 12:28 was being sarcastic. calm down, people.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:34 PM

Its the joke that turned real.

Are they just fucking with us?

I got 2 pairs to the first two announced shows, this is kind of getting out of control.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:34 PM

"BV- why the same godspeed pic every post about them? anything else available?"

It's a slightly different picture than the last post.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:36 PM

joke's on you, 12:34.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:39 PM

I am satisfied with my single ticket to the church show. I am glad other shows were announced because it should bring down the scalping prices on the other dates...my goal is to get nice and toasty before sitting in a pew and hearing the music....no beer at the church, which I think will keep down the mindless chatter.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:40 PM

ADD. A. BOSTON. SHOW. FUCK. YOU.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:40 PM

...nah the joke is on the dude from Boston.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:42 PM

I thought I was going to the 2nd NYC, turns out I am now going to the 4th?!?

Someone said in the comments previously that these shows will end up like Pavement did: sold out way in advance, free tickets day off. I said no way, but it might happen. People are buying tickets just because they haven't played here in years.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:44 PM

They are such capitalists at heart.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:47 PM

sound at the masonic temple is awful. the venue unorthodox history is just a ploy to get hipsters excited about shit music

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:51 PM

Tom Windish couldn't let them slide without a formal club show, cmon!

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:53 PM

While it can get muddy, the sound is SUPER loud at the masonic temple - that's the sell with these shows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:55 PM

Terminal 5 is terrible. Masonic Temple is no good either. Church shows are the ones to see.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 12:55 PM

sik

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:03 PM

i have a ticket to the church show. wonder if everyone will be blazing in the church lol?

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:05 PM

terminal 5 is by far the most underrated venue in the city. i have a good time every time i go there...it's probably not the best place to see godspeed, but it'll be nice to see how they play in a more traditional venue vs the church shows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:06 PM

Ill be blazing in the church!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:17 PM

I hate the church

I'm going to eat hummus

I'm going to burn it down as well

I'm an athesist as well

but not a hipster

oh and I hate T5

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:24 PM

Fillmore Jive > Terminal 5

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:25 PM

Johnny 5 > Terminal 5

Terminal 5 > Short Circuit 2

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:26 PM

most things > Short Circuit 2

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:31 PM

blunts@da church...u kno wut it is

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:31 PM

Has anyone actually seen them live? I'd rather watch hummus harden.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:32 PM

they aren't bad live, but if it hadn't been like 7 years since their last shows, no way they'd sell out 4 shows, and probably a 5th one.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:47 PM

"Terminal 5 is terrible. Masonic Temple is no good either. Church shows are the ones to see"

Never been to the church, but I agree on the other two. Masonic Temple is just too muddy sounding. T5 also has bad sound (my only complaint).

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:48 PM

waiting for the second philly show to be announced.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:51 PM

First Philly isn't sold out yet. Two nights at the Uni Church Sanctuary would've been superior to one night at the Troc.

BTW, SWANS TONIGHT IN PHILLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:57 PM

The masons have a secret lair underneath the temple that has been converted into a hummus kitchen.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:58 PM

Sorry, Philly is now SOLD OUT! I didn't think it was yet. Yeah, I bet a 2nd show will be announced for Sunday night.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 1:59 PM

@ 1:58... you = loser

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:00 PM

@ 2:00... you = corndog eater?

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:02 PM

The attendee angst and depression associated with going to Terminal 5 will help unlock the music.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:11 PM

@2:02...if fresh and crispy, then yes!

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:14 PM

so my final night tix are still final night? hoping it stays that way.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:16 PM

now there are 2 shows to see them before SXSW.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:23 PM

there won't be a 2nd philly show...the sunday show is gonna be in DC at the 930 club....on presale now, btw.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:23 PM

godspeed who?

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:34 PM

"now there are 2 shows to see them before SXSW."

All the shows are during SXSW.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:38 PM

they can't be that popluar

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 2:43 PM

never heard of these guys

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 3:29 PM

amen 12:53, Windish worships the bottom line

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 4:07 PM

welp people can buy their tickets at the lamesonic temple and the terminal shit venue. Church show will be the best show.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 4:09 PM

Id rather they announce it at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, show would have been amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 4:10 PM

yo, as of ticketmaster within the first hour for the philly show, it was sold out.
where can you get em if you think they are avail?

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 4:13 PM

terminal 5 > jackson 5 > the number 5

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 4:20 PM

the masonic temple rocks... it's going to be a fabulous show... been waiting for these guys for years... if you like listening to your music in a tin can, than terminal 5 is your ear candy...

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 4:50 PM

Still got to think the church wins out...sitting down...cool atmosphere...no BS at the door....

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 5:03 PM

terminal 5 will be a warm up for the rest of the shows... they'll hit their stride in brooklyn...

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 5:09 PM

Security at the Masonic temple is tuff. I mean you can smoke if your sneaky, but they really search ya at the door.
However, i managed to sneak in a Philly and a bowl of hummus in last week. Ya gotta be creative. I hid it in my pals Afro.

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 6:44 PM

sucking NY'ers dicks as usual.

Fuck off GYBE - assholes

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2010 9:57 PM

i bought 10 tickets to the church shows expecting to make a killing scalping them to trust fund hipsters. now godspeed added a million shows and who knows how much the hipsters will pay. regardless, if a hipster thinks he's getting a cheap ticket from me, he's crazy. i'd rather eat the ticket.
i used to love godspeed. now i hate them with a passion.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 12:25 AM

That's great. I hate you 12:25 & you sound like a trust fund hipster. Where'd you get the money for all them tickets, your daddy?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 12:51 AM

I'll bet they'll be sick and tired of New York come the 19th, haha! (From NY, BTW)

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:33 AM

its called an investment. i invested 30 per ticket expecting to get back 80 per ticket. it's like the stock market. but godspeed screwed everything up when they kept announcing new shows. They should have announced them all from the beginning.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:54 AM

where's my uno card?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 11:28 AM

loved the silver mt song in that LOST commercial. screw capitalism...eh what?!

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 12:19 PM

Ticket speculators are scum

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 12:58 PM

yeah they should have announced all the shows at the beginning so you could make a larger profit off of them. they really weren't considering the scalpers when they decided to play these shows.

anyone who is a fan of a band and sells tickets above face value is a douche. karma's a bitch, good luck

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 1:13 PM

The bands and promoters announce these shows one by one with scalpers in mind. Then the city gets flooded with tickets and actual fans who bought an extra ticket or two months in advance get stuck with them if their friends or themselves can't make it to the show. Case in point: Pavement. Promoters and most bands are as eager to screw the fans as the scalpers are.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 1:29 PM

I've only been to the Masonic Temple twice (for Sleep and Boris/Sunn just a few weeks ago) and I thought the sound was really great and balanced

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 1:51 PM

so you pounced on real fans who had an extra pavement ticket and loved to boast how much you ripped them for, but then you hate people who charge above face value. Hypocrisy.

If you're willing to rip off real fans, you can't complain when they're willing to rip you off too.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 5:11 PM

Everyone who is complaining here are human chodes. No one could really care less if you hate the Brooklyn Masonic or if you hate Terminal 5. I seriously think people just go on here to bad mouth every single event that they don't like. It doesn't matte where I see them as long as I get to see them. Btw trust fund hipster? That was pirceless XD
