Miike Snow

The Stooges ended up playing a Pop Magazine party at Don Hill's on Friday night. Whether or not they also show up at Varvatos this weekend remains to be seen. Speaking of Varvatos, did anyone end up getting their picture taken by Mick Rock or see any good shows on Fashion's Night Out?

Metric played Juicy Couture' Fifth Avenue Flagship store as a two-piece. They covered "The End Has No End" by The Strokes (who are playing their own fashion week party). A video of that, and more pictures of Miike Snow's Andrew Wyatt DJing at the Theory store, below...

Non-NYFW event but Interpol sounded wonderful tonight....good to see them back!

Not Even Jail was the best song I thought!

Is it just me or does Metric sound like shite and about as far away from the Strokes as you can get?

Posted by guy | September 11, 2010 1:50 AM

Blk Jks played outside Scoop in the Meatpacking district.

Posted by anonymous | September 11, 2010 2:15 AM

Ditto 1:32!!! More Interpol Coverage.

Posted by CNC | September 11, 2010 2:29 AM

Re: Iggy>>It's a drag, to a working slob like myself, who has been a fan for years that there wasn't a proper show (Raw Power)in NYC.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2010 10:37 AM

Wasn't the ATP show proper enough for you? Was it like too far to drive?

Iggy

Posted by Iggy | September 11, 2010 11:10 AM

@252, yeah Combat Baby is a classic.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2010 11:28 AM

Iggy went on around 12:30. Quote of the night (slight paraphrase): "I know there's a lot of fashion people here tonight, and I just want to remind you all that your faces are going to HELL." (Cue loud cheers)

A sad state of affairs.

Posted by Anonymous | September 11, 2010 12:17 PM

The Ralph Lauren Janelle Monae show was a total scam. People waited in line up to three hours, and at its peak there were probably 400 people in line. The security guards didn't know how many people would be let in or when. Meanwhile, all the models and invited guests get in, then Janelle shows up, and the guards suddenly announce that the space is full.

That's right: NOBODY IN LINE got in.

I went to a local souvlaki grill guy and asked if he had any raw eggs. Nope. Evidently he doesn't sell omelettes. I figured Mr. Lauren's Little Shop Of Assholes could use a pelting. The rest of the crowd, though, just accepted it. What the hell is wrong with kids today?

Something needs to be done about assholes who let people stand in line for hours with absolutely no chance of getting into a show, just so they can take publicity photos. Until then, all we can do is confirm that anybody who wears Polo is a pair of broken glasses away from being Urkel, and Mr. Lauren is a Grade A Asshole.

(By the way, the show was lousy. Ms. Monae sang four songs, including a dreadful version of Smile. Didn't say a word to the crowd. If you've seen any of her performances, you've already seen what she does. Girl needs something new FAST.)

N.E.R.D. blocked off West Broadway and played a show from a truck. Great music, great crowd, lots of fun. Also saw some bizarre female singer at Paper's show at United Nude.

Anyway, was a great party. Don't get the concept -- free alcohol, free food, free concerts, people trash stores and don't buy anything -- but I'll see you there next year.

If you're in NYC, Vivian Girls at Andrew Edlin gallery at 6 today.

you won't get a real setlist from this show because there weren't any real fans there who would ...a) care, b) know most of the songs, c) report it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2010 6:19 PM

The Stooges need to quit whoring around doing Industry shows and do a proper NYC gig.

(and hopefully not at T5)

Posted by anonymous | September 13, 2010 10:31 PM

Why do you think they're called STOOGES?

Posted by Anonymous | September 13, 2010 11:03 PM

Iggy and The Stooges are the official VIP Invite 0nly Corporate show band for hire.

Want some down and dirty 70's street cred rock for your brand? Want to cool up your image? Just call the the direct line to Iggy and he'll be there with his Stooges pronto.
