Weezer

"Weezer have announced the details of "The Memories Tour" Driven by State Farm®. Beginning on Friday, November 26th, the band will perform four very special residencies in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and New York, during which they will play two classic albums in their entirety.

really hope this is in a GA venue... probably something like the beacon or radio city though.

Driven by State Farm? Hahahaha

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 10:55 AM

Yeah, that's not weird at all, LOL!

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:00 AM

It'll be two nights at....

Hammerstein or Roseland

Won't be at T5

Might be at Radio City.....
They won't play at Beacon....

Can't they just play The Blue Album and Pinkerton back to back in one night (and forget about their other albums)?

Posted by Venkman | September 24, 2010 11:05 AM

aren't all the greatest hits on the blue album and pinkerton anyway?

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:08 AM

I was lucky enough to see them at CBGB's on the Blue Album at a CMJ show and at Roseland on Pinkerton. Both of those shows were beyond amazing. I have a feeling these shows coming up are not going to be that great, especially if the drummer is playing guitar.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:08 AM

Let's hope they open the show with the albums...this way I can leave before the "greatest hits" part starts.

Posted by Scott | September 24, 2010 11:09 AM

Wow, why would i pay 60 bucks to see them now when I saw the Blue Album tour for 15 in '95?

Posted by John Oatess | September 24, 2010 11:09 AM

my wish exactly 11:05. the buzzcocks did that very thing this year - played their first 2 albums back-to-back in order with greatest hits saved for the encore.

and let's face it, aside from the blue album and pinkerton, there aren't many weezer tracks that rise to the level of 'greatest hits.'

personally, i'll skip the first night and just go for the pinkerton show as that album has been woefully represented live for so long.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:10 AM

The risk of hearing "My Sex" is just too great

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:10 AM

I hope they play The Hummus Album

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:11 AM

No GA venue like Hammerstein, T5, Roseland for me. If it's a proper venue, I'll go.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:13 AM

why don't you just hang yourself John OatASS you cheap, living-in-the-past douchebag?

gas used to be 89 cents a gallon also, idiot.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:13 AM

@ 11:11 - you mean the beige album?

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:16 AM

Last time this band was anything but decent was back in 2000 - the gig at the Stone Pony was pretty incredible.

And I agree with what the Buzzcocks did - I was at that Irving gig and it was a great night.

RIP =w=

I don't know about these shows...by this point the band's output of crap has far eclipsed these two albums, so what's the point? Being nostalgic for 'good old' Weezer has gotten tiresome and trite.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:20 AM

agreed about doing the 2 albums back to back would be much better. would love to hear both of these albums in their entirety... but I'm not going to pay for 2 fucking shows and sit through a bunch of crappy later-era songs for 2 nights in a row.

i'll probably just get tickets for the blue album night if the prices aren't insane. as much as i love 'pinkerton'... the blue album is almost perfect and it holds up a lot better today. 'pinkerton' is like the classic album for moody 15 year olds...

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:28 AM

Will probably be at United Palace...

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:32 AM

anyone over the age of 18 who will pay to see these dickheads should have their head examined.

"Being nostalgic for 'good old' Weezer has gotten tiresome and trite." -- truer words have not been spoken by a BV commenter in ages.

Its NOB Hill, not Knob :P

Posted by Amber | September 24, 2010 11:53 AM

shows will be at CBGB

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:57 AM

Wah wah wah. Haters gonna hate. Go listen to Wavves or Beach Fossils or anything you want, I'm not going to stop you or shit on it.

The Halloween show last year in NYC was a blast. They're fucking great live and tighter than ever these days.

I'm in as long as I can get tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:57 AM

weezer, please play in NYC anytime after the 18th.
thanks.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 12:07 PM

They'll play where State Farm says they'll play, damn it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 12:42 PM

RIP Weezer 1992-2000. I don't care what songs they play, if I have to look at that assclown of a bassist. I would pay some good $$ for a reunion with Matt Sharp that includes songs off of Return of the Rentals.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 12:44 PM

Damn people, it's NOB hill....not Knob Hill...you knob.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 12:56 PM

Weezer is in good hands.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 1:12 PM

wont be radio city. christmas show is going on. since all the other shows in other markets are in venues with seats im assuming it will be the beacon. msg maybe?

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 1:35 PM

"Driven by State Farm? Hahahaha"

In the days of the old Soviet Union, they used to force all kind of things to be grown on the State farm, however and quite sadly, the beloved chickpea was not one of them...hence, the ensuing collapse.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 2:13 PM

Worst band of all time. It's not even real music. If you like Weezer, you are clueless.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 3:20 PM

shut the fck up with the chickpea/hummus bullshit. it's fcking lame!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 3:26 PM

Pavement for the remedial crowd.

"Worst band of all time. It's not even real music. If you like Weezer, you are clueless."

Please please pleaaaaase, inform us on what "real music" is?

Seriously.

"Go listen to Wavves or Beach Fossils or anything you want, I'm not going to stop you or shit on it."

i'm not trying to STOP you from listening to weezer, i'm just suggesting you get your head examined by a professional.

while we're at it, wavves and beach fossils can both suck it too.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 4:09 PM

Photo above credits wrong photographer.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 4:19 PM

This band really isnt worth it to us anymore

Well then kindly list your favorite acts so we can tell you how much they suck.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 5:21 PM

Weezer is joke rock for people too feeble-minded or underdeveloped to appreciate anything earnest, edifying, or with real depth. I will direct you to their last two album covers for one remedial example.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 7:06 PM

Paying current crappy Weezer for old stuff will only allow them to go right on being crappy.

Posted by Locke | September 25, 2010 12:50 AM

75$$ for a ticket- go kill yourself weezer.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 11:18 AM

i paid 80 for two tickets. its a gift to my girlfriend for our one year date.
im really excited for the concert.

Posted by sean | November 14, 2010 10:20 PM

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
