bv, thank u for posting the yyy's merc show like any other; no i dont happen to care about that particular show, i just want to encourage yr recent trend of posting private shows (while of course clearly noting their exclusivity & discouraging ppl from just showing up & clumsily trying to crash without figuring out a valid "in" beforehand). as i really wish u had done with past gigs if u cant tell, like projectors/solange @ ace hotel.

keep it up, we appreciate it, cuz theres a fucking reason we're not just sticking to timeout or voice listings

its not for the thrilling hummus/meh discussions, believe it or not

Learn to write. For example, "u" is not a word. Neither is "ppl".

im ready for all the hipster hate, but alice in chains, deftones and mastodon at msg tonight is going to rule.

Wow, if that's a crowd going nuts, then NYC has some lame crowds. Last night's show had everyone mostly standing around and bobbing their heads. if you want a fun crowd, see shows in the U.K.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 10:41 AM

if you want a fun crowd, leave this city.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 10:50 AM

if you want a fun crowd, go see a better show. pavment? seriously? ha.

I hear it's because New York seems to get jaded with all the cool shows their spoiled with, so it's harder to "impress" them in a sense. I live in New York, BTW, so this is the impression that I've gotten.

I meant "they're", not their. I swear I know how to spell.

The AIC show tonight I feel is going to be for about 10,000 people. You can still pull GA tickets on TM as of this morning, which is NOT a good omen. I don't think they are late-release either, as I tried earlier this week and they were available then too. Regardless...I'm looking forward to it!

is kria brekkan still playing tonight? her name is gone from glasslands and sites

Personally, I read Brooklyn Vegan for thrilling hummus discussions.
I have found a number of fantastic recipes and I feel my quality of life has improved slightly from this new found intake of vitamins and phyto-nutrients that are locked within the chickpea.
I mean, I like Rock and Roll, and even a little electro from time to time, but I enjoy these things with a side order of hummus handy. So why ya gotta be so sarcastic about my vegan lifestyle buddy?

Wouldn't it be awesome if the original hummus person wore an identifying t-shirt to shows. Can you imagine the reactions they'd get...everything from curious pleasantry to pure disdain...and possibly even violence. Anyone else remember that "Manhattan Not A Brooklyn Asshole" commenter from a few years back?

just got word from a buddy that ticket scanners at broken at summerstage. if you've got a pdf ticket, they're just making you show it and you walk in. so if you want to make copies or whatever, go for it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 6:42 PM

ok, ill be wearing my tshirt

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 7:48 PM

Ooof... terrible joke 6:42.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 9:35 PM

Pavement was amazing tonight! It was my first time seeing them and they definitely dissapoint. Also 6:42 was telling the truth I arrived around 645 and they just looked at my ticket and gave back the stub, they were not scanning anything.

went to pavement again tonight. the scalping situation was way worse than before--40 bucks all around. show was good but i think rainy wednesday was more fun and more intense; band seemed pretty tired. the coolest part of silence kid was all soft too, felt weird. still a great show, just a lot more mellow.

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2010 11:51 PM

lots of pavement videos from tonight here:

I just thought the not scanning part sounded weird, didn't seem believable. But hey, if that's the case, lucky for some of yous I guess.
