Hahahaha / Drake quote:

"I love large breasts, no reason to ever get them reduced"

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 6:32 AM

I had a great time seeing Best Coast in Mpls. Not ground breaking, but damn good fun! They're great live.

Posted by Julian | September 29, 2010 7:17 AM

best coast songs do speak for themselves... they're good

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 8:38 AM

So there's probably no chance of getting into that LCD show tonight, right?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 8:59 AM

Drake is a moron...

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 9:00 AM

8:59 - doubt it, but I'm sure the announcement of the final NYC shows is coming soon

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 9:06 AM

You guys make it sound like LCD is on their last tour....

They'll be playing at least 5 to 10 NYC shows the next five years....

they're not going away.

James even said he'll be releasing more materials but not touring as much....never said he's going to retire.

Relax!

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 9:28 AM

Anyone know what time that Chavez show is starting?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 9:39 AM

9:17 - no but he's 100% retiring from touring

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 9:40 AM

@9:40 - Remember when Pavement 100% broke up? LOL

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 9:49 AM

Fake Problems / Let Me Run at Generation Records. 7 pm.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 9:55 AM

Breaking up is simply a marketing method. Nobody ever really "breaks up"

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 9:59 AM

Wild Yaks "un-broke up." Saw they were playing Cameo Gallery this past Saturday night.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:03 AM

@9:49, remember when husker du 100% broke up?

...oh wait

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:05 AM

I could see a Husker reunion in the next few years. Everyone is getting back together. Cash money, yo.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:10 AM

^^That's the one I've been waiting for. No four nights at Summerstage, but maybe a couple at.......T5? :-(

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:16 AM

huskers reunion would be mind blowing, but it'll never happen, at least not with greg

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:20 AM

Those breasts are actually subpar, but to be fair she can sing.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:22 AM

>>huskers reunion would be mind blowing, but it'll never happen, at least not with greg

I'd settle for Bob and Grant, they can add Mark Ibold on bass.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:29 AM

or mike watt

BEST COAST = CRAP!

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:36 AM

The Best Coast album is decent. The songs are great, but the production ruins everything. How much reverb is too much? Listen to Best Coast, that's too much. That album could have been huge with a decent engineer.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 10:48 AM

I know, haters gonna hate, why the negativity, Franny and Zooey, etc. etc. but seriously: Best Coast?

Voice is beautiful, sure. Songs are pleasant enough but kind of dull, right? Lyrics are godawful. Pitchfork seems to favor uninteresting songwriters with familiar sounds that dress well (a la mode, at least).

Nothing wrong with liking Best Coast, I guess it's just the fact that this generation treats their aesthetic as something to aspire to that's weird. Oh well.

Posted by two cents | September 29, 2010 10:51 AM

@9:59- I hope that's the case with At the Drive-In, amiright?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 11:12 AM

@10.51 - her lyrics might not be genius or anything, but you can relate if you're into some girl/guy. it's pretty honest. and the tunes are good summer jams.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 12:35 PM

who has the best hummus in nyc?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 1:27 PM

juliana hatfield and evan dando. is that a sex act?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 1:28 PM

Miranda Lambert at T5!

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 2:12 PM

My girlfriend just broke up with me. Does that mean we really didn't break up? Do I have to wait ten years before we get back together?

Posted by Regular reader | September 29, 2010 3:11 PM

i think people hate best coast because that girl is dating the guy from wavves and everyone hates wavves on here. that and i know she was on that absolutely dreadful converse collab and she stole the opening melody from a beatles song and her chorus was arguably the worst part of the whole thing. hope that clears some things up.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 3:48 PM

yes it does, now how about the set times?

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 4:01 PM

9:00pm - Male Bonding
10:00pm - Small Black
10:30pm - Iggy & the Stooges
11:00pm - Best Coast

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 4:04 PM

Posted by noamjamski | September 29, 2010 5:14 PM

all the info i've been able to find is that it will 21+ and they'll play some time after 8.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 5:42 PM

RIP Greg Giraldo

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 5:49 PM

If you're throwing a birthday party for your 3 year old, make sure the guests aren't armed. And don't have it at 1 am. That's just bad parenting.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 6:18 PM

NICKELBACK AT PRUDENTIAL CENTER!!!! How'd that not make the list?!

(worst band ever)

Posted by Funderburgh | September 29, 2010 6:42 PM

Was just going to post what 5:49 did. I thought he was going to make it.

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 7:26 PM

best coast is hugely overrated

Posted by Anonymous | September 29, 2010 9:44 PM

lcd soundsystem must've damn near torn the roof off angel orensanz tonight.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2010 12:44 AM

"lcd soundsystem must've damn near torn the roof off angel orensanz tonight."

Shut up you stupid overhyping fuck

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2010 12:59 AM

overhype? it was a great show in an incredible (and tiny) venue they'll probably never play again.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2010 1:06 AM

so Chavez ended up going on after Blueshammer.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2010 1:36 AM

the last 20 secs of that Drake video absolutely destroyed me.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2010 1:51 AM

"overhype? it was a great show in an incredible (and tiny) venue they'll probably never play again."

Yes overhype you fucking idiot. Trust me I have seen LCD many more times than you and in as small venues. I managed to get in tonight and the show was good but nothing deserving of your stupid hyperbole. It was a corporate show and it felt like one. You are probably one of those corporate assholes who have never seen them before and just came on here to gloat.
Well I can tell you that the Music Hall show earlier this year blew tonight out of the water.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2010 2:14 AM

i was at the music hall show too and admit it was a better show than tonight (and will forever be really hard to top), but that doesn't mean that tonight wasn't a great show (was really excited to hear dyc live) and i'm not a "corporate asshole" who came on here to gloat. doubt there are many of those on bv.

Posted by Anonymous | September 30, 2010 2:28 AM

also, you wouldn't happen to be the tard from a certain label going off on twitter how the show was full of "clueless suits", eh? i met more than a few really big fans that work in the ad space, pumped to be there when someone in their company offered them tickets ("someone who had no idea who they were offered me these tickets" was a recurring theme). yeah, it was a sponsored show and there was a payday, but i didn't get a real "douche" vibe from the crowd; definitely no worse than the non-sponsored shows that play your local bowery presents venue.
