Ruffeo

As fashion week is coming to an end, Williamsburg Fashion Weekend is just beginning...

Now in its seventh season, Williamsburg Fashion Weekend continues to show the work of designers who have their fingers on the hip and now, with a nod to the past and eyes wide open to the future. Assembling a dozen young designers who make one-of-a-kind garments or small-run collections with an emphasis on fair trade, ecofriendliness, artisan techniques and transparent business practices, WFW celebrates the handmade and the visionary. Founder and curator Arthur Arbit has a passion for the unwavering, personal, take-no-prisoners aesthetic vision. A designer and fine artist himself, he is interested in combining all forms of performance art into his fashion shows.

This season's event will be held at Glasslands Gallery, located at 289 Kent Ave. Williamsburg, Brooklyn on September 17th and 18th, 2010. Doors open at 8pm. Entry is $8.

The hottest look for this season is dressing up like you work at a falafel place.

Another huge fad this season is pita triangles as earings.

I want to go as a spork - perfect for hummus because you can spike the little olives if there are some on top.

The hubris emanating from Williamsburg is making me choke.
A whole bunch of people crippled by feelings of inferiority. Stop copying everything about Manhattan.

The hummus in Brooklyn is generally really good, but that spot on north 7th and Bedford let's me down a little. But I usually grab a little side before I hit the L train to 1st ave.
