Crystal Castles @ Don Hill's - 9/12/10 (Nat Ma for Dirty Durty Diary)
CC

So just to recap, the now-renovated Don Hill's reopened for Fashion Week and so far has hosted private shows with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club on Thursday, Iggy Pop and The Stooges on Friday, Courtney Love and Hole on Saturday, and (as you can see above) Crystal Castles on Sunday. I'm not sure what happened on Monday, but someone just told me the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are playing there tonight/Tuesday. The Dead Weather played pre-renovation.

Video of Courtney Love covering Lady Gaga on Saturday below...

Isn't this related to Belvedere or something with their new vodka line or something?

who takes an H2 hassy with a digital back to a show?

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2010 11:19 PM

how is this venue getting all of these shows and/or why is it suddenly a big "sponsored party" spot?

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2010 11:29 PM

It's beyond me why anyone would leave their home to hear and or see Courtney Hole.

because Nur Khan is part of the team "revamping" the place. he's behind Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar and the newish Kenmare. a lot of "rock 'n roll" connections

HOW DO YOU GET INTO DON HILLS, SERIOUS ANSWER PLEASE

Posted by Anonymous | September 15, 2010 12:08 AM

UNFORTUNATELY IF YOUR NOT SOME SOCIALITE, MODEL, CELEBRITY, ANCIENT ROCK STARS,BLOGGERS, AND WHAT HAVE YOU NOT REGULAR PEOPLE WHO JUST WANT TO LISTEN TO GOOD BANDS AND HAVE A GOOD TIME. DON HILLS HAS TO LIVE UP TO ITS NEW IMAGE AND THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE US

Did you try the front door?

Posted by Anonymous | September 15, 2010 12:39 AM

^^^
ha!

Posted by Anonymous | September 15, 2010 12:55 AM

I managed to get in. I slipped the doorman a secret recipe that an old Lebanese man gave me years ago that substitutes tahini with almond butter. He was really excited and let me in.

The only thing that old Lebanese man slipped you was his cock.

you can sneak in, just be slick about it. i saw both iggy and the YYYs over the last few days. the back door is around the block. look important, like you own the place.

Will the Strokes be playing there tonight?

Posted by Anonymous | September 15, 2010 8:45 AM

so... did they play or not?

Posted by Anonymous | September 15, 2010 10:10 AM

not

Posted by Anonymous | September 15, 2010 10:14 AM

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs played, but the venue itself was a shitshow. So many people.

Posted by Anonymous | September 15, 2010 10:14 AM

so they did play?

Posted by Anonymous | September 15, 2010 10:45 AM

By "revamping" the place. you must mean instead of booking no name bands and letting the public in, start booking name bands and not letting the public in.
