"Clyde and I will be playing this early show [at Knitting Factory] in Brooklyn [on Friday, October 8th] before Wanda Jackson and Lustre Kings play a 9:30pm show. You do have to buy separate tickets for our show and for Wanda Jackson, but what a night! Woowee! Doors are at 6:30 and we start at 7 and it is all ages but this is not specifically a kids' show. Be forewarned- F*Bombs will drop- if you don't like your kids to hear "profanities" (or songs about jerking off and creamed jeans and hot queer rooftop escapades) leave your kids at home.Kimya Dawson has no other upcoming dates, and did not recently participate in the final Dufus show at Cake Shop though four other members of the Moldy Peaches did.
"But Kimya! That is the night of our 20 year class reunion! How could you be in New York and make plans the same night?!" You ask.
OH SHIT THE REUNION?! Oops. Wait, I wasn't even planning on going. I have no desire to hang out at a football game or a bar all night but maybe we could meet up Saturday morning at a playground and say hi. I'd love to meet your kids- just maybe not at my show (or a football game or a bar).
Okay fuckers, seriously, this show is going to be GREAT!!!! You love Your Heart Breaks, even if you don't know it yet.
And I might even be making sharpie shirts for the first time since I developed an aversion to sharpie smell when I was pregnant.
Anything else you need to know? Start flexing your triceps. I want some solid hugging. Solid. Solid as The Rock." [Kimya Dawson]
