Mirah @ MHOW in June (more by Amanda Hatfield)
Mirah

Mirah will be at Bruar Falls tonight (Saturday) to play with an "all-star band" that includes, according the venue, "Bryce Kasson from Old Time Religun, Sara Jaffe from Erase Errata, Sara Marcus from Boys of Now AND MORE GUEST TBA!" (K Records also lists "Christy & Emily, Kathleen Hanna, DJ Emoticon.") Also on the bill is Brooklyn songwriter Tami Heart.

The event is a couple of things: a release party for a new video for Mirah song "The Forest," a book release for riot grrl history "Girls to the Front" (author Sara Marcus will be reading) and a benefit for Shaleshock, a group that's "protecting our communities and environment from exploitative gas drilling of the Marcellus Shale."

A video about fracking (the gas drilling they're talking about), and a live version of "The Forest" that Mirah performed with Thao, below...

White people, making music inspired by other white people, who've never heard black music.

Not that it's ever right...but of all the BV posts (announcing a concert of artists celebrating gender equality and open mindedness), why fill this one with stupid, racist diatribe you two idiots.
