Anamanaguchi at Death By Audio on 9/23
Anamanaguchi has been trickling out singles right and left via their website, and now the NYC band has a new offering, "Mess", available for download above. To go along with their 8-bit steelo, the band has also released a digital animated "cover". Check that out. And if you can, "be a bro" and donate to the cause at their site.
Anamanaguchi will play a DJ set at Glasslands on 10/23 at the Unofficial Popgun CMJ show with Baths, Yuck (who are also playing the Official BV CMJ party at MHOW on 10/21 - tickets), Mon Khmer, Dominant Legs, Teen Daze, Porcelain Raft and Jaill. Anamanaguchi recently supported Ra Ra Riot at Music Hall of Williamsburg (on 9/24). One night earlier they played Death By Audio with Tera Melos, Pteradactyl, and Fiasco. anamanaguchi is great. the WHOLE crowd went fucking crazy within literally 1 1/2 seconds of them starting. we were packed like sardines in there. the scott pilgrim video game soundtrack plus the free singles they've been doing have gotten these guys attention that they deserve. but they can't play in small places like DBA anymore even though it's my favorite venue. they're too big now. i couldn't breath while they played!

I wish anamanaguchi would play somewhere out west... like maybe in nevada.... reno to be specific....
Actually, they played at the Penny Arcade Expo at the beginning of September, and in late August before that, in LA and Portland, OR. Pay attention to their web site(anamanaguchi.com), twitter (@anamanaguchi) and/or follow them on facebook. That way, you won't be left out in the cold.
