Kill The Client

So nice, I booked ’em twice! Kill The Client was a strong cup of coffee as the opening band at my SXSW day party at Emo’s, and provided the most perfectly brutal primer for Trash Talk at their appearance at Hoeks Death Metal Pizza the next day. More recently you may have caught KTC on their tour with Venomous Concept (though they weren’t aboard when VC came east and hit Europa).

The Texas band released the sublimely subversive Cleptocracy in 2008 (one of my favorite records of that year) and now the band have recruited Relapse to release their newest and possibly greatest offering, Set for Extinction, out Tuesday (10/26). Over 19 tracks of unhinged brutality that blast through a shade under 25 minutes, Kill the Client conjure thoughts of a more grind-y Pig Destroyer, Napalm Death, Phobia (one of drummer Brian Fajardo other bands) and even the much lamented Nasum (RIP Mieszko). This record smokes. Dig on the track “Industry Of Fear” available for download/stream below and stream the entire LP at their myspace.
