Tame Impala

Although tickets may still available for their appearance at Bowery Ballroom on 11/18 (though presumably not for long), Tame Impala has added a second show at the venue the next night (11/19), and also with Stardeath and White Dwarfs & Kuroma. Tickets for the 11/19 date are currently on AMEX presale, and go on general sale at noon on Friday (10/15). More dates HERE and below.

Tame Impala's trek begins a few days before the first Bowery show, but the Aussie band has a new Daytrotter appearance, that you can listen to now, where they ran through four songs from their new LP, Innerspeaker.

Their new video for "Lucidity" with updated dates below...

Tame Impala is OK. I believe they will get better. Even though they are rich kids that haven't earned any amount of success, they will prevail as one of the best bands around...

^^^^^ That makes no sense.

I think 4:22 is stating that they aren't "great" yet, but sees potential. I agree. I saw them at Pianos. They kind of sucked, but I could see where they are going.

I really dig tame impalas new album. but they have to step up their live act. it just doesnt do the album justice.

Am I the only one that thinks the singer is ripping off Lennon? Will somebody agree on this? It's cool to have influences, but he sings like he's doing a mock impression of John Lennon. Not hating on the band, just curious if anyone else hears the Lennon resemblence.

?

Is innerspeaker their only full lenght? I'd like to hear something else by them to have a real opinion on the band before I pass judgement.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2010 5:19 PM

@5:03 yes, i also think he sounds exactly like lennon, but hey, if you're going to rip off someone's vocal style lennon's not exactly a bad one to go for if you can pull it off which he can. i think its more the effects put on the vocals than the actual vocals that create the resemblence too.

@5:19, yes, innespeaker is the only full length but they do have an EP as well.

Lennon is too particular to "rip off". I think he should sing more like Syd Barrett.

They are pretty trippy live. half shoegaze/ half beatles

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2010 8:22 PM

@5:03 and @ 8:22, that's what i like about them - looking forward to seeing them next month

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2010 9:44 PM

I don't know this band, but If they sound like the beatles, then they suck real real REAL bad.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2010 9:52 PM

The Beatles made a couple good albms. lol!

Posted by Anonymous | October 14, 2010 8:08 PM

I smell crap when I listen to this bands music.

Tame Impala is going to be very very famous! Bigger than Jesus!

TAME IMPALA!!!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 11:50 PM

taMEH impala

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 12:44 AM

they are sort of meh live. they need to at least appear like they are enjoying themselves. they seem like they would rather be hiding out getting high in the corner.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 9:34 AM

I just found out that this is basically like a solo project of the lead singer...not gonna lie that's kinda weird and kinda bullshit. When you are listening to the album going "OMG that drumming part and bass part are awesome!" it's basically all the lead guy playing every instrument on the album. I have read the liner notes and the other guys barely get any credit. WTF!
