DOWNLOAD: The Autumn Defense - Back of My Mind (MP3)

The Autumn Defense
Autumn Defense

Jeff Tweedy isn't the only member of Wilco playing Bowery Ballroom on December 4th (TICKETS ON SALE AT NOON). The Autumn Defense are opening the show which means there will be a minimum of three Wilco members in the house that night since The Autumn Defense is a side project of both John Stirratt and Pat Sansone. They're also opening for Jeff on December 6th in Tarrytown and Dec 8th in Charlottesville.

December isn't that far away, but the Autumn Defense are also playing other shows even sooner. They release a new album called Once Around via Yep Roc on November 2nd, and they go on a tour to support the LP that same month. That trek brings them to Le Poisson Rouge in NYC on November 12th, and that night they are the headliner. Johnny Irion & Sarah Guthrie are also on the bill. Tickets are on sale.

Grab an MP3 from their new album, "Back of My Mind", above for free. All Autumn Defense tour dates below...

Ticketmaster is fucking me again!

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:02 PM

damn that was fast

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:03 PM

ugh

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:03 PM

Got two with a confirmation number. If the tickets are only available at will call, why was there only a ticket fast option for delivery?

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:04 PM

This is horseshit...

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:05 PM

FUUUUCK

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:05 PM

Sold out in 1 minute. How many of the 550 tickets are on Stubhub already.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:05 PM

JEEZ

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:07 PM

How is the Tarrytown show sold out already too????

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:07 PM

Sold out already. Would have been nice if there was even a remote chance to get a ticket to this.

Hey Jeff, thanks for playing one show at a club you could have sold out 10 years ago. What an amazing level of access.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:15 PM

I assume they will change the delivery method to will call later or they realized that it is actually illegal now in NY to offer will call only tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:15 PM

only 18 on stub hub. sold my pair for $399.98 less 15%

- $104.05 orginal cost

net gain... $235.94

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:16 PM

Got my tickets. Very excited!

Posted by Kurt C. | October 29, 2010 12:18 PM

A few years ago Sufjan did two nights at Bowery and two nights at MHOW. Same deal with Will Call only and Tickets were only $15.00!! There was a chance for people to actually get tickets.

Tweedy does one show at Bowery charges $50 and no one can even get a ticket...

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:18 PM

^ how do you get around the will call only issue?

love the post! he/she is going to set off a ton of anger comments.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:19 PM

will call only? It's called ticketfast! print your tickets at home. It was not a will call only show.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:20 PM

12:16 is part of the problem

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:20 PM

I'd love to see the guy, but I'm not going to pay hundreds of dollars on stubhub or ebay to do it. I'm hoping they add another night at the Bowery. The dates allow for it.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:22 PM

Im sick of those word verification things on ticketmaster. they should be hard for a computer to figure out....not for a person. It seriously makes me feel like ticketmaster doesn't want me to get the tickets. besides...ticketmaster/ticketsnow is the main perpetrators of scalping, and everybody knows it. Down with ticketmaster!! Where's Pearl Jam when you need them?

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:25 PM

There's a day in between Bowery and Tarrytown. I smell a MHOW show. When is it going to be announced???

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:27 PM

not unless Jeff Tweedy is performing with Matisyahu

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:29 PM

12:25, Don't you get it? The corporation reigns supreme and it will only get worse...not even Pearl Jam or The Boss can save us now.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:30 PM

fuck it, I'm going to Taylor Swift

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:33 PM

The only thing I can't stand about those captcha things is that they don't even spell real words any more, so if the letters are blurry or distorted, you have no way of telling whether you're 'spelling' it incorrectly or not.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:33 PM

Tweedy is playing Sunday night with YLT at Maxwell's, so there will be no "added" show.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:47 PM

Those jibberish captchas are really terrible. They had actual words until a few weeks ago. Now it is almost impossible to type them correctly unless you do it slowly, which defies the purpose of getting tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:47 PM

yeah really, when i have to decipher something like:

vribulous potamas

it's really EFFIN annoying

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:49 PM

"Tweedy is playing Sunday night with YLT at Maxwell's, so there will be no "added" show."

Yeah like you even know you fucking moron. Nice try.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:49 PM

its not only jibberish, its intentionally hard to read...blurred words scrambled or smushed together. I'd say that actually gives a computer an advantage because the human brain naturally tries to translate the image into something that makes sense...but these are meant to be senseless and deceptive so you end up typing the wrong thing once, and then ball the tickets are gone...to Stubhub and ticketsnow. WTF is the purpose of that?

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:56 PM

Actually, I have it on inside sources that on Jeff Tweedy's off night between a NYC show and Westchester show he has orchestra tickets to see Cats on Broadway, while his friends are playing holiday shows in Hoboken with special guests that don't include him.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:58 PM

It would make sense for Tweedy to come sit in with Yo La Tengo during one of their Hoboken shows. YLT has opened for Wilco a bunch of times over the past few years. They have played together during shows. I am just not sure if it will be Friday night or Sunday night. But one of the two.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 12:59 PM

12:58... Cats closed on Broadway years ago. Dumbass.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:00 PM

1:00, it was sarcasm. Of course Tweedy is playing in Hoboken. Isn't it pretty obvious.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:03 PM

"I am just not sure if it will be Friday night or Sunday night. But one of the two."

Another idiot who has no idea and is just praying and hoping. Lots of things make sense and it never happens. So just stop it. This is like all the idiots who make up fake Coachella lineups or post lineups that they know for sure are taking place and never seem to materialize.

You want a sure thing for Tweedy. I got an extra Bowery for sale. Look for my Craigslist posting in an hour. No bids less than 200 bucks. Tweedy is gonna subsidize part of my Prince floor tickets

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:05 PM

"No, no. He's NOT playing an obvious show that you already have tickets for. He's ONLY playing the show that me, your local scumbag scalping dirtbag, has a ticket for."

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:10 PM

FACT

Jeff Tweedy playing Bowery Ballroom

SPECULATION

Jeff Tweedy will open up for Yo La Tengo at Maxwells

End of discussion shitheads.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:13 PM

From Wilco's website:
PLEASE NOTE: Tickets for this event can only be picked up at will call on the night of the show. Tickets will not be mailed. All purchasers must present a government-issued photo ID. Tickets are non-transferable and you MUST enter the building upon receipt of your tickets. There is a two (2) ticket limit for this event. The ticket limit will be strictly enforced. Exceeding the limit will result in cancellation of your tickets without prior notice.

It's pretty senseless to not mail tickets but allow people to print them out at home. Ticketmaster must really need that $5.00 for people printing out two tickets themselves.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:14 PM

fuck everyone on this thread

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:18 PM

FACT: You have an extra scalping ticket for Tweedy and you're a scumbag. Why pay $200 to stand in a crowded Bowery with an obstructed view to see someone who you...

FACT: ...Already have a ticket to see a small club with another amazing band, where you can see Tweedy from 10 feet away.

CONCLUSION: Don't buy from scumbag scalpers.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:18 PM

what a bunch of babies. christ. life isnt fair...get over it, or try and do something constructive about it.

you think ticketmaster is going to change because you're bitching on some blog? if you have a problem, do something about it.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:25 PM

Most of the tickets were sold on Wednesday on the Wilco site.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:46 PM

^ only 10% were..

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 1:56 PM

looks like I should have held out for the $400 a pop they're now going for. I was ripped off at selling them for $200 each.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 3:30 PM

Tweedy tix will go on sale mid afternoon the day before or the day of the show.

It happened for Morrissey. It happened for NIN. It ALWAYS happens.

So everyone, relax. And try closer to the date.

Jesus christ. You should really step back and take stock because a lot of you are acting in a way that should embarrass you and would embarrass people you know

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 3:50 PM

tweedy doesn't even give a crap about this stuff

Posted by any mouse | October 29, 2010 3:52 PM

Id Tweedy were to appear at a YLT, it would be as a guest during the encore for a song or two, and not as an opener.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 3:53 PM

he would be the opener as YLT opened for wilco

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 3:59 PM

"he would be the opener as YLT opened for wilco"

Have you ever been to one of the Hannukah shows? The big names are always encore guests, never openers.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 4:04 PM

First Tweedy fires Jay Bennett and now this...what an ass

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 4:22 PM

The presale was 46 tickets. there was a wilco HQ tweet about it.

Posted by Steve | October 29, 2010 4:59 PM

Jay Bennett is rolling in his grave

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 5:12 PM

i got a ticket and now i'm showing the receipt my ass, FUCK YOU

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 5:33 PM

shoving*

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 5:36 PM

Have you ever been to one of the Hannukah shows? The big names are always encore guests, never openers.

Define big names. Because in 2007 they had the new pornographers as openers and in 2008 they had the magnetic fields as openers. They sound like pretty big names to me!

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 6:58 PM

Big bands....small bands. we all eat hummus.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 9:49 PM

"They sound like pretty big names to me!"

Meh at best. Not in the same league as Tweedy.

Posted by Anonymous | October 29, 2010 11:46 PM
