roseland... i guess we lucked out?

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 11:57 AM

That's basically what they played last Halloween. That and like 2 new shitty songs and Beverly Hills.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 11:58 AM

wow, people actually like this band? sad.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:03 PM

Thank you weezer, T5 eats a**

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:08 PM

Roseland along with T5 is as bad a venue as it gets in NYC. However I stopped by two free shows there in the summer. They had set up the stage mid-floor. It was a big improvement over the usual setup there. If that's a permanent change, I might actually start going there.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:09 PM

"wow, people actually like this band? sad."

were you around during 1995?

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:09 PM

I rather T5 than Roseland!

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:10 PM

same shit!

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:11 PM

Not a big Weezer fan, but it does not get much sadder than leaving "people actually like this band?" comments about bands with a big following.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:12 PM

any word on price? the other shows on this tour are ridiculously expensive. might have to settle for one night instead of 2. they play half of the blue album every other show anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:15 PM

PinkerMEH, the Hummus Album, lol

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:16 PM

12:09 Ha you saw Hanson!

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:19 PM

Let us all argue about a power-pop band that does not even deserve to be argued about!

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:23 PM

So happy it's at Roseland and not at T5. Shit on Roseland all you want, but at least it's set up to actually have ALL 3500 people view the stage (as opposed to T5). Plus, it's GA so we can have fun and the true fans can get up close.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:30 PM

12:30 huh? T5 is GA too...I take it you have never stood at the back of Roseland...sightlines are worse at Roseland!

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:35 PM

12:35,

Not a chance. T5 used to be a dance club so they may be able to fit 3000 people, but 3000 people certainly can't view the stage. I've been at the back of Roseland and, yes, while it's crowded, you can still see the stage.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:45 PM

wait - so they aren't playing BOTH albums each night? aren't they like 40 minutes each?

wtf.

Roseland trumps T5.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:49 PM

@ 12:09.

Yeah, I was. They sucked then too.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:52 PM

Rivers Cuomo is in my fantasy league. I lost last week because Shonn Greene still hasn't picked up his game.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:52 PM

Bored to Death...HBO...solid!

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:53 PM

at least Roseland is easier to get to than T5.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 12:58 PM

1245 I am 6'1" and can't see the stage from the back of Roseland..how tall are you?

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 1:04 PM

Yeah it sucks that this isn't both albums in one night. I saw them right after Pinkerton came out and they played every song from both albums plus a couple b-sides.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 1:06 PM

@ 12:52

22 carries, 117 yards...

Yeah, really needs to step it up. And before you say "But he didn't have any TD's," I'll say you should have known LdT would be the TD back when you drafted Greene.

Posted by Scott | October 5, 2010 1:09 PM

Tickets actually go on AMEX presale on 10/8. (Friday)

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 1:18 PM

I think that little kid in the picture giving the "W" sign epitomizes Weezer's target audience nowadays.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 2:08 PM

" I am 6'1" and can't see the stage from the back of Roseland..how tall are you?"

That is pure BS. I am also 6'1" and I have no issues with seeing from the back. The sound underneath the balcony overhead is terrible (even more so than the front), so you don't want to stand there, but the visibility is NOT an issue. I usually stand there by the bar if the opening band is not that great. Which Roseland are you going to?

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 2:22 PM

last time i was at roseland was for Rancid in 2000... place blows

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 2:25 PM

I've hugged the barrier between the main floor and the bar area at Roseland lots of times. Sightlines were never a problem.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 2:26 PM

2:22...um youare BS..I usually hang in the back for the last few songs of a band so I can get out of the venue without the crush eiting. Every single time I can not see more than 1 person on stage when hang out in the back.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 2:27 PM

exiting

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 2:27 PM

does seem pretty lame they aren't playing both albums both nights. oh well... I'll be seeing "Blue Album" and hopefully they play "The Good Life" during the hits portion of the concert. Honestly... "pinkerton" live doesn't seem like a lot of fun. Are there big enough corners in Roseland for the entire crowd to sob between their legs listening to "butterfly"?

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 2:33 PM

I saw the pinkerton / blue album tour in 2000.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 2:45 PM

I find it interested of how Weezer started off in smaller venues, played in MSG, and is now back at Roseland. Is this due to their choosing, or lack of money/popularity/all/none of the above?

Posted by Chillingworth | October 5, 2010 2:59 PM

As someone who grew up in the NY metro area, I much prefer Roseland to T5. Not only do I prefer the views, sound, and location, but I also have seen a lot of good shows there over the years so it has some sense of history. I saw Daft Punk there in September 1997. I forget what time they went on.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 3:21 PM

roseland is SO much better then T5, very happy about this.

NOT happy about two seperate shows though

Posted by Slob | October 5, 2010 3:25 PM

I saw Weezer at the Roseland in 2001? - Yahoo tour with the Get up Kids opening. Even then, I thought they were awful.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 3:31 PM

I was at that show too, 3:31. I remember the whole thing being a total pain in the ass.

They were pretty good when they first came back... maybe in 2000... I saw them at 9:30 club and it was a pretty great show. Except for that Mikey Walsh db.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 3:45 PM

I think it's hilarious that hipsters love to b*tch so much that they like to waste their time commenting about bands they don't like. Comments like 'people actually like this band?' are very thought-provoking and bring a lot to the discussion.

Posted by John | October 5, 2010 3:51 PM

I think it's hilarious that people have to censor the word BITCH when they are commenting on MOTHER FUCKING brooklyn FUCKING vegan. shit poop cunt.

fuck. bitch. asswipe. see? no need for an asterisk. you can actually type out the whole word and your mommy probably won't even know....

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 4:12 PM

fuck, shit, piss, cunt, titty fucker

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 4:46 PM

shit piss fuck cunt cocksucker motherfucker tits

seven words you cannot say on BV

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 4:58 PM

Stop being an a**hole.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 5:05 PM

fuck you stupid cuntrag.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 5:28 PM

wow am I back in elementary school again??

Posted by John | October 5, 2010 5:34 PM

Can you please not be so vulgar?
It's rather juvenile, and interferes with meaningful comments about hummus.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 5:35 PM

hummus lovers. yeah i said it.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 7:23 PM

once good, now shitty band at an always-shitty venue. pass

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 9:05 PM

this proves once and for all that rivers cuomo will do anything for attention, including admitting that everything he's done since pinkerton has been a desperate ploy for attention.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 10:31 PM

Glad you haters will not be clogging up the server traffic when tickets go on sale. I'll be singing along with other fans. It's gonna be a glorious day.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 10:40 PM

2:27 PM, I seriously doubt your are 6'1". In your dreams perhaps. There are no sightline problems at Roseland or T5.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2010 11:07 PM

11:07 yeah you're right..I am actually closer to 6'2"...

Posted by Anonymous | October 6, 2010 7:18 AM

>>Glad you haters will not be clogging up the server traffic when tickets go on sale. I'll be singing along with other fans. It's gonna be a glorious day.

Agreed.

Weezer offered $10 mil to breakup..

http://www.nme.com/news/weezer/53312

Posted by Anonymous | October 6, 2010 1:01 PM

10 million to break up? Who would do that?

Posted by St. Louis Landscaping | October 8, 2010 10:43 AM

holy shit. tickets are $75

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2010 9:57 AM

Hahah, who's going to pay $500 for a two night VIP package?

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2010 1:32 PM

Some people have so much money they can't even spend it all... Some sucker will indeed pay 500 bucks for weezer tix and the promoters laugh all the way to the bank.

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2010 3:43 PM

regular tickets are $74 each (face value). that's just disgusting. i hope these shows don't come close to selling out.

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2010 6:43 PM

stop complaining hipsters.
this is a once in a life time event. Is 75 dollars worth it for something that will happen once in your lifetime? yes.
and yes, weezer tickets are more expensive than, say, waaves, but theres a reason for that. weezer is one of the most significant bands of the last twenty years and these are their two most significiant albums.

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2010 7:11 PM

7:11 = epitaph records intern.

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2010 8:13 PM

I bought tix to both shows and even i think 7:11pm is delusional. i hate admitting that i spent that much money on weezer but this is their going away tour. as in, this is the last time i will ever go see them live again. they must hate their fans. the prices are absurd, and they could have done both albums in one night but spaced it out to cash in. and lets not forget Hurley. ughhhh.

Posted by Anonymous | October 10, 2010 5:13 PM

what exactly do you expect tickets to be? weezer have kids and they need to feed them somehow.

Posted by Anonymous | October 11, 2010 1:13 PM

75$$ is simply rape... They havn't come out with a good album since these, they should be paying us

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 11:20 AM

no sightline problems at T5 - what idiot thinks this?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 11:22 AM

Seven foot tall idiots.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 11:37 AM

weezer tickets used to be $20 even when they were playing at Continental Airlines arena. $75 is completely retarded.

Posted by Anonymous | October 18, 2010 11:09 AM

Only one Jealous J-Hole person could be behind all these Anti-Weezer (nerd this, and this band blows this worse than hootie this and that crap ).
