Posted by chris | October 15, 2010 1:39 PM

anyone got an extra lightning bolt ticket? :(

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 1:49 PM

For those people that go to Todd P shows, do they start on time? It says on the website 8pm but is that door/show time?

I'm guessing it's door time?

8pm-doors
9pm-1st band
10pm-2nd band
11pm-Dan Deacon
12am-Lighting Bolt

???

P.S. Will it be easy to sneek booze into this place?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 1:59 PM

anyone know set times for tonights casiotones/deacon/lightning bolt show? or band order? right now todd p's site is listing casiotones tour opener (otouto) as the heacdliner and lightning bolt as first opener...

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:00 PM

Ok, i'm going you convinced me!!

Posted by carnaporto | October 15, 2010 2:07 PM

This is 2:00 I just realized I'm an idiot and have been reading the order upside down - really? Casiotone is the 2nd opener?! I suck for buying tix for this show and not the Mercury Lounge show last night. Why was this moved from Monster Island?!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:13 PM

this is 2:00 again, i think hitler is sexy

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:21 PM

That is NOT the Dead Kennedy's playing at Irving tonight.....

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:21 PM

bv ever consider adding set times to certain shows in ur post? like for dh tonight?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:39 PM

Well, not what the DK's should be anyway. But it seems contray to the slogan, there's no longer room for Jello.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:41 PM

Also, Lightning Bolt, muthatruckas!!!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:47 PM

Lightning Bolt is amazing live! Fun, high-energy show that is 100% worth checking out!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:48 PM

Lightning Bolt, out of all of these, is clearly the SHOW of the day!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:51 PM

dungen and lightning bolt shows are sold out!
destination: rosetta/constants

Posted by brandonmetal | October 15, 2010 2:52 PM

Lightning Bolt/Deacon is 100% sold out, no tix at the door (per Todd P's twitter).

They have a liquor license for this show, so BYOB will be possible but you will have to be stealth.

This show was never going to be at Monster Island.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 2:53 PM

Dude... If I can smuggle a tub of hummus in, then smuggling in booze should be a ^no brainer.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 3:00 PM

2:53pm...he was talking about Casiotone, not Lighting Bolt silly. If LB played at Monster Island, the place would break down.

3:00pm....your hummus jokes are getting old. Get a job. oh wait, hipsters don't work right? They're trust funded babies....I mean how else would they afford rent in Hipsterville.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 3:09 PM

anyone have set times for King Khan tonight?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 3:11 PM

its 2010 get over lightning bolt for christs sake, it's like geeking out over seeing black flag in 1986 or something

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 3:11 PM

Any Todd P interns wanna tell us teh set times for LB? or are they still sleeping?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 3:13 PM

1st time seeing Lightning Bolt after missing out on them Halloween Eve last year. Should be cool.

3:11: What is your band to see, just out of curiosity?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 3:15 PM

I'm not 3:11 but have to agree with the statement.

Bands to see in 2010? Portal and Krallice. Seriously, LB? Yawn...

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 3:37 PM

Nothing interestin happening again for me this friday :(

Posted by Tsontes | October 15, 2010 3:54 PM

jesus. are lightning bolt still around? didn't that i'm so wild and crazy, short attention span shit die in the 90's?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 3:59 PM

Anyone go to casiotone last night? Setlist?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 4:04 PM

when does penguin prison go on @ cameo?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 4:31 PM

3:37: 3:15 here. Funny enough I've seen Portal and Krallice (several times) before. Great stuff! I'd agree with you on that.

Also, didn't I hear about some crazy shit that went down on the LB show in the Auto Parts Store or something?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 6:50 PM

is lightning bolt death before 1979?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 7:02 PM

hum mehs

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 7:02 PM

Godspeed, you ticketless trying to get one at the venue. I don't have the energy to try that today. I imagine it will be very tough.

And screw the Lightning Bolt haters. Anyone who can't respect their live show is an idiot.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2010 7:07 PM

Lightning Bolt was ridiculously amazing, as usual.

Posted by panopticon | October 16, 2010 3:16 AM

Deerhunter ruled. some sound probs, but pretty sweet setlist. Bloody Beetroots was a nonstop shove-fest but sounded sick.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 3:51 AM

Deerhunter were solid, but kinda swallowed up in the place. I prefer them in small venues. It was a great setlist, and closing with Fluorescent Grey was great.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 8:37 AM

Deerhunter were phenomenal. The kick drum went out on "Hazel Street" for like thirty seconds but no one seemed to notice but me. And their bass player is clearly the weak link.... good bass player, but hits the wrong notes at least twice in every song. They are forgiven by the fact that they are so fucking great.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 8:54 AM

Casiotone was amazing, sound a little off at first but then sounded great. Only bad side was he did not play longer than he did. Also dan deacon fans are obnoxious....if you don't want to see an opening band why stand up front and talk through the whole set...go to the back...

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 9:24 AM

i heard the kick drum die too...but they totally rocked it.

Desire Lines
Hazel Street
Never Stops
Memory Boy
Rainwater Cassette Exchange
Don't Cry
Revival
Little Kids
Fountain Stairs
Nothing Ever Happened
Helicopter
He Would Have Laughed
Encore:
Basement Scene
Spring Hall Convert
Fluorescent Grey

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 10:14 AM

Fuck Webster Hall and $8 beers. I'm never going back to that place.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 12:05 PM

Great encore, but seriously about the beers. That place is the worst.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 2:11 PM

Yeah closing out a $48 tab is not fun. Perhaps I shouldn't drink so much, or bring a flask. Anyway, Deerhunter fucking rocked.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 2:22 PM

Just drink beforehand. Plenty of cheap bars in the area.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 2:46 PM

What's the going rate for Beer at a show in NYC? $8 seems a bit towards the highend, but nothing outrageous compared with what I generally see at concerts...
And I have no desire to see what a concert with cheap beer would look like by 10:00 PM... that'd be an ugle scene... drink before the show if needed

anyway, Deerhunter were great as always... sideprojects, studio albums, EPs, live shows, etc... they're the closest thing to a can't miss act as far as quality in this era

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 3:32 PM

I'd rather pay $6 like at Bowery or MHOW, but it was pretty awesome to see deerhunter in such a big place. Question though: at the end of Nothing Ever Happened, do they have someone playing that keyboard part offstage? I don't see how any of the four of them couldve been making that sound with their guitars.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 3:46 PM

what time did bloody beetroots end?

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 9:38 PM

Buds were $3 at Lightning Bolt.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2010 11:38 PM

Ok, i have to go, i ove this band!!
