The terrible crowd of 17 year old hipsters + Terminal 5 = Pass (even though I'd love to see him live!)

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:00 PM

fuck it.
this is gonna be FUN.
no sarcasmo.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:01 PM

I can't wait. I don't care what anyone says. Girl Talk puts on some really fun and high energy shows. This show is gonna rock.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:06 PM

I have nothing to say about his shows, but I think the fact that he said awhile back he was going to make his own beats and original music on the new album, but now says it's just going to be more of the same with the mash-up formula proves this guy has absolutely no actual talent other than being a glorified DJ.

@12:09 I understand what you're saying. But have you heard his albums pre-mashups? They're terrible. He got big doing mashups, so why mess up a good thing? I was glad to hear he is doing another mashup album.

Talent or not, it's just fun.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:17 PM

Last time he sold out three shows there right? So they'll probably add two more...

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:18 PM

music for people with little depth or imagination. but to each his own.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:20 PM

HATERS GONNA HATE!!!

Let me tell ya something, GT's mash-ups take more talent to construct than the "creativity" of the Vivian Girls, Beach Fossils or any other talentless, 15-min-of-fame band that sounds like an honorable mention in a middle school talent show.

Bottom line, I'd rather dance around and have fun with my friends at a GT show than stand with my arms crossed like some holier-than-thou prick at a [insert popular flavor of the month band here] show!

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:27 PM

@12:20 I have plenty of depth and imagination. I make no apologies or excuses for enjoying music that makes me happy or want to dance. We can't all be angry about life once a band or artist releases something beyond one album. God forbid they should make a little money off of something they create.

And @12:27, well put. I couldn't agree with you more.

I have more respect for the worlds worst musician then the worlds best computer programmer.

"I have more respect for the worlds worst musician then the worlds best computer programmer."

Yes, me too. I respect Nathan Williams and the guy from Total Slacker more than I do the people working at NSA and computer engineers at the nation's administrative core...

Who's bringing the Rophenol?

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:14 PM

"I have more respect for the worlds worst musician then [sic] the worlds best computer programmer."

Mainly because you have little comprehension of either process.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:26 PM

The laptop is doing a bunch of DJ sets at the cakeshop. I've seen it, and it's really easy to see who drives "girl talk".
"Del" as he's known, is easy to approach too, super nice, and chatty.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:26 PM

That's it. I'm starting a Girl Talk cover band.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 2:43 PM

here in afghanistan it's hard to worry so much about music i don't care for. especially since my mom, sister, bother, and grandmother were shot by americans in the head, eye, penis, and seven times in the face.

but keep up the good spirits as you sit in your offices, earning money for the pentagon.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 2:59 PM

And what cave in Afghanistan are you posting the above comment from? I had no idea such a backwards nation was keeping tabs on American hipster pop culture.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 3:10 PM

ie: Computer programmer POSING as a musician, Man you guys are dumb.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 4:03 PM

where was your father? why wasn't he shot?

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 4:18 PM

i lived in a house. now i live at my friend's house. why?

i did not say the people of my country were "keeping tabs on American hipster pop culture." i said it's hard to worry about what i don't like anymore. and just so you know, you don't have to live in brooklyn to listen to music you were told was hip.

what is a backwards nation?

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 5:30 PM

thanks for the heads up @4:55

i'm gonna try to do that and Ariel Pink that day! :)

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 5:31 PM

4:25pm Could you please post the address of your friend's house so that our American troops can scope it out to ensure you don't have ulterior motives? I highly doubt the men and women serving in Afghanistan would murder your family members if they did not feel threatened by them. You must be a terrorist.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 8:12 PM

I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS. GIRLS TALK SHOWS TURN INTO THE BIGGEST FUCKIN DANCE PARTIES.

"That's it. I'm starting a Girl Talk cover band."

The U.S. and its allies have unleashed a massive air campaign in Afghanistan, launching missiles and bombs from the sky at a rate rarely seen since the war’s earliest days. In October alone, NATO planes fired their weapons on 1,000 separate missions, U.S. Air Force statistics provided to Danger Room show. Since Gen. David Petraeus took command of the war effort in late June, coalition aircraft have flown 2,600 attack sorties. That’s 50% more than they did during the same period in 2009. Not surprisingly, civilian casualties are on the rise, as well.

I hear the new Girl Talk album is going to be called "Bombed in Afghanistan" and will be about exactly this so this thread is totally on topic ironically.
