Rollins

While watching Off! at Fun Fun Fun Fest on Sunday, I remembered that I forgot to post this hilarious video of Henry Rollins stopping in Cake Shop in NYC (thx Torsten for the tip). Check it out below...

Hey Henry - Stop being a hypocrite and stop self promoting yourself while being driven around in a town car

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 12:44 PM

i know you're, like, henry rollins and all, but do you have to be so agro ALL the time?

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 12:45 PM

Whoooah Henry...CALM DOWN buddy! Victim much??

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 12:46 PM

he's always been the ultimate prick. he has some major issues with how people perceive him.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 12:47 PM

He should go back to being a talking head on VH1's "I Love the Eighties"

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 12:47 PM

he nailed it, you know it

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 12:50 PM

He's 100% correct though right?

Posted by Jaguar | November 8, 2010 12:58 PM

Dude Henry Rollins can take any of your hipsters out so just shut up and listen to some Black Flag and not Girl Talk or some garbarge music.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:00 PM

You're all one of them.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:02 PM

What a bunch of dorks. No respect.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:05 PM

yeah, he's right. It just took an asshole to say to their faces.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:07 PM

You bet Henry Rollins has got something against you.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:09 PM

Rollins = Worse than Hitler

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:11 PM

I don't always agree with Henry ..but this time he has a point.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:13 PM

So Henry Rollins is a prick with a chip on his shoulder? YA DON'T SAY? He has been combative his entire career. Youre bound to be when you were playing in a band like Black Flag that had to eat so much shit from the audience when they were around. Granted, this was kind of embarrassing, but he was spot-on with the assessment of that girl.

Posted by GregBX | November 8, 2010 1:14 PM

"A very famous book I wrote .. it's very well known.." I bet Henry couldn't bang her either. He needs to come out of the closet already.

What a douchebag.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:18 PM

I love the guy's music, but he comes off like a paranoid, clueless asshole in this video. He might be spot on about the "intellectually intense" young people and their hip music, but when he turns on that girl, he's just being an asshole. Does anyone think she was actually mocking him? It sounded to me like she was just a fan, and her defense of herself seemed genuine. Rollins talks like he's some sort of hipster punching bag, when it's probably more like the opposite. People love the guy.

The people giving him props for taking on trust fund hipsters are ignoring what actually happens in the video: Rollins treats a (probably intoxicated) fan like a piece of shit.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:23 PM

I cannot believe how many asswads are dissing Rollins on here. I don't like the dude, but he's a fucking post punk icon. You can't just write him of because he went off on an entitled cunt.

Anyhow, he's ALWAYS aggro. He's an AGGRO person. Black Flag was AGGRO music. The white music you like was probably influenced somehow by black flag

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:23 PM

Yeah Black flag were so punk rock - give me a break! Listen to those albums, seriously - gimme gimme gimme? Tv party tonight? That's punk rock? Then they went metal after like two albums. Sorry man, your a closet case bodybuilder prick who's sold out so much it's a joke.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:25 PM

^^
"post punk icon?"
Dear Lord, please help me.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:26 PM

He's a little paranoid prick with an HUGE chip on his shoulder. Those people were probably really excited that he was in the store. What a loser!

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 1:31 PM

POST-PUNK asswad

Posted by isfet | November 8, 2010 2:00 PM

I don't give him a pass on any of this shit. He came in there looking to piss on somebody. She yelled out the title of one of his books, so what? I didn't hear sarcasm, derision, elitism. He was so braced to fight, so defensive. It's so transparent and sad. And most of you guys are embracing it. This is no better than scores of new yorkers I know who decide all or most of Williamsburg is just a swath of over-funded, tight-pants non-contributing worthless posers. I hate that kind of reductive, simplistic thinking. Generalizations do so much damage. Way to force alienation when there doesn't have to be any at all.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:02 PM

those ladies may very well be entitled trust fund kids - but you or I nor Henry know that. What we do know is they were being rude, that is all. It was a bit much for Henry to take his opinions about the general state of youth/music/culture out so pointedly on these people without knowing anything about them. If that's how you feel about young people and their establishments, why go into their lair like that and be surprised by anyone's (re)actions? Talking about his Grammy in the town car was especially cringe-worthy too.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:04 PM

sheeeeit

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:10 PM

@ 1:25. They went metal after two albums? What the fuck records were you listening to? They were hardcore punk. Never, never metal!

Or do you only consider The Ramones, Television and Talking Heads "punk." Give me a break and get your facts straight!

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:11 PM

Rollins is coming to Williamsburg....yall better be ready

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:14 PM

Henry Rollins got all his muscles from the protein packed chickpeas he eats almost daily.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:15 PM

wow, lots of pissed off hipsters! au

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:17 PM

1:25 has obviously never heard black flag

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:18 PM

Not the first time Henry has deservedly crapped on people attempting to antagonize him.

Those jerks should have some respect for the man.

Haha what a joke.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:26 PM

as much as i am not into rollins, it seemed like he was being provocative but trying to do it in good fun, almost poking fun at himself. the one line where he accuses the girl of being a tattooed trust fund baby is the only point where i feel like he is slightly crossing the line..

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:27 PM

I know the girl in the video. She is the exact opposite of a trust fund tattooed hipster. She is about as genuinely punk as you can get. No shit.

Henry has always been a prick to his fans. He yelled at me when I was a 14 kid at a Black Flag show when I was simply excited to meet the guy and say hi.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:43 PM

right on Rollins! tell all those gentrifying pussies to go fuck themselves. he should have knocked those douchebags right the fuck out. what a fucking joke the LES has become.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:47 PM

Henry Rollins has earned the right to do and say whatever he wants, period. Is he an asshole, probably. But so what. You don't have to like the guy, but 1/2 the music that is written about on here wouldn't exist without him. Fact!

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:48 PM

What is the definition of "overtattoed" according to Rollins?

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:50 PM

Rollins begat the Pains of Being Pure at Heart?

There is reason to hate him.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 2:51 PM

Life lesson, Anon @ 2:47, no one ever earns the right to do and say whatever they want. Fact.

"to these people I am old and in the way"--welcome to 1993, Hank.

geez, even Bono looks less embarrassed when he has to talk to young people. He's right about Cold Cold Hearts though, fucking awesome band.

Henry Rollins attacks a couple of girls in a record for no reason.

good job dude, you really impressed your lady friend and didn't come across as a delusional egomaniac so ridden with insecurities and paranoia that he's lost the ability to be out in public without flipping out on random strangers. please stop by more record stores with a video camera. it looks really fun for you.

I see that girl around the east village, and she is not a trust fund hipster, but I really don't understand why people hate hipsters anyway... They seem to be an OK bunch. They like music and hummus and that's cool with me. I prefer that to being down in Georgia where people like football and bacon.

@ 4:14. Frat rock? Are you fucking kidding me? They are a seminal West Coast hardcore punk band. Nobody that went to Black Flag shows was in a frat!

You know nothing. TV Party was one fucking song! Most "frat" guys never even heard of Black Flag you douche!

BTW: Henry didn't even like the song TV Party that much from what I remember. But it was an ironic song, you loser. You know nothing. Frat Rock...fuck, you need to get your head out of your ass!

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 4:39 PM

"Frat rock" is a term that just means party rock, dude. I didn't literally mean you or the other Black Flag sycophants were in fraternal organizations.

I know nothing, okay...sure dude.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 4:41 PM

cock, maybe. but when you grow up you'll get it. until then shut the fuck up. you will never, ever come close to being half the cock henry rollins is. never.

you know he's right. you talk too loud and know nothing. most of you are still living off of dad and mom.

you are making what was once the best place in the world to grow up and live in a complete joke. so over you assholes. how dare you make fun of black flag. show some fucking respect.

Wikipedia sez..."In this early period [the early '60s] many bands were heavily influenced by surf rock and there was a cross-pollination between garage rock and energetic and upbeat party frat rock, though the latter is sometimes viewed as merely a sub-genre of garage rock."

Black Flag is most certainly a descendent of this scene. Hey, they covered Louie Louie, the ultimate frat-rock classic...

Go to school, son.

Henry was totally trying to get into that girls panties.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 4:56 PM

@4:41. Black Flag is not Party Rock! Listen to their albums, not just a few songs. Jesus fucking Christ!

They are punk fucking hardcore!

Listen to Black Coffee, Rat's Eyes, Damaged, Nervous Breakdown, My War.

These are NOT party rock! Jesus.

Go to their discography on Wikipedia and then actually listen to their whole albums and then tell me they are "party rock."

@ 4:44. Um. Son? Go to school? I have been listening to punk and hardcore for 25 years. Black Flag is not really a descendent of surf rock or party rock at all. Even if they WERE mildly influenced by this genre, that does not mean they ARE that genre. What the fuck!? They were trailblazers of hardcore punk with a few party-ish songs out of tons of songs that had nothing like this in them!

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 4:56 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 5:50 PM

What a cunt. I've totally lost interest in this egomaniac. If he's so god damned important, how's that music career going? Oh wait? Not the albums that came out over a decade ago. Your current albums....Oh, you don't have any. So what do you do?

"I'm a spoken word artist."

So what...you just get up there and talk?

"yea."

Cool, remind me never to come to your shows.

Also, Black Flag was good. Fugazi was better. Suck on that Garfield.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 6:39 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 7:27 PM

Rollins is not gay, but the homosexual crew does find him to be an icon.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 7:32 PM

Rollins comes off as a douche but more importantly, this video is FUCKING BORING.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 7:44 PM

the bottom line is that he is not nearly as important and influential as he thinks he is. Ian Mackaye, Bob Mould, Greg Ginn, Jello Biafra, Darby Crash, HR and co., these people are way more important, and they never appeared on I Love the 80's. But they WERE the 80's. Rollins added, but he was not the innovator. And he sucked in the 90's.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 8:29 PM

Kind of fun in a Matt Foley kind of way...

Posted by Sphagnum Esplande | November 8, 2010 9:10 PM

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and Rollins comes off like a prick in the video, but it is pretty ridiculous to deny the influence of Black Flag and dismiss them as a "party band" based on 3 ironic songs that were written before he joined the group. He may seem lame and out of touch now, but Black Flag was quite a unique force in a time when punk meant that you were basically homeless and going toe-to-toe with the LAPD. 5 albums of some of the best outsider music in history.

I'd also put 'Turned On' up there with any live rock album ever made. Watching the original Rollins Band line-up as a young teen at City Gardens was a life changing experience for a lot of kids at that time....esp since he had the courage to stand up to all the skins and scene thugs that used to plague the shows back then.

But yeah, I know nothing about the people in this video and think his reaction was a little strong and misguided. I know a few people who are deserving of that criticism, but I think he missed the mark on this one.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 9:24 PM

this clip needed a lot more Shirin Neshat and a lot less Henry Rollins.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 9:38 PM

eh, Rollins was the second lead singer for a second wave punk band.

Posted by Y | November 8, 2010 9:40 PM

Rollins wins on raw honesty alone. Hipster douchebags can go eat it. He called just about everything wrong about your little insular and entitled scene out in two point five minutes flat. You suck. Your attitudes suck, and the rest of the world knows it but is just a little too busy leading real lives to say it. Now go wait for that monthly check and put whatever whitebread soft batch bullshit you're fake enthusiastic about this week on repeat on your itunes. Fucking posers.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 9:43 PM

rollins is a dick but that woman heckling him is a textbook tiresome punkster.

she's like a lite version of those stinky loser fuckers on the sidewalk with their mangy dogs and patch covered black demin outfits

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 9:46 PM

henry rollins once grabbed calvin johnson's balls while beat happening was opening for black flag... i'd say he's positively gay for hipsters!

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 9:47 PM

meh.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 9:48 PM

eh, for a photographer shirin isnt very perceptive. she says "how'd you know she had a tattoo" or something when it's quite clear that the 'hipster' girl had her whole forearm tattooed. i noticed it and the girl's arm was only in the video for like 2 seconds.

Posted by Anonymous | November 8, 2010 11:17 PM

personally I don't find his jokes about tattooed trust fund hipsters at ALL cliched. I've never heard jokes about hipsters before!

incisive social commentary, town car guy! and way to make all the women onscreen look painfully embarrassed for you! including your Iranian lady friend who you keep fondling like she's your Grammy!

Posted by Spot | November 8, 2010 11:49 PM

@ 9:43.... alright henry...

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 12:22 AM

It is very clear that he went into Cake Shop looking for conflict. There are MANY record stores he could have taken his guest to explore music, but he wanted to see what would happen if he went THERE (and with CAMERAS!) And the bullshit set-up of bringing along an culturally obscure Iranian political activist to USE as a bloody shirt, setting a trap for the common 'hipsters', who are simply SUPPORTING the local independent music shop/venue is a total joke. But hey, you and show's producers got what you wanted on tape. It's kinda like "The Hills," right Henry? Don't EVEN pretend this wasn't anything other than a setup for TV.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 2:18 AM

i have tattoos. i like 80's hardcore. i've lived in the east village my whole life. i don't come from a trust fund. i like steak. am i a hipster or not henry?

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 3:26 AM

Yes Rollins has always been defensive and a bit on edge when not necessary. That was kinda sad Rollins, although not surprising. Seeing his spoken word in the late 80's it was almost the same ego. Makes you think Ian from Fugazi who can be mildly the same towards people is much more humble. As in his sit down with the guy from Nation of Ulysses on soft focus.

I agree with what he was saying to a certain extent but he was being a little too paranoid to the girl that mentioned the "grammy book" when he could have joked a bit to feel out the person instead of assuming so quick. The guy does stand up spoken word or whatever its suppose to be but you would expect him to be a little more able to address someone whether or not she was being cocky.

That is not me........I don't have brown hair I have red hair.

Posted by lala | November 9, 2010 8:26 AM

rollins was an aggressor but meredith was being a passive aggressor

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 8:56 AM

2:18 AM is 100% correct and understands how TV works, apparently so does Rollins. The elements are put in place so that something worth filming occurs, then push it out and let it go viral, baby.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 9:10 AM

i'm aick of want to be punk assholes yelling shit at people, if you like something someone's done then you should mention it when/if you find yourself in conversation with them, not yell it across a crowded shop, she may have not meant it as an insult, but the bitch meant it to be antagonistic and just wanted to get on camera...

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 9:18 AM

I'd much rather hang out with Henry than with any of those bitches heckling him. those chicks' personalities are like a halloween costume. trying too hard much?

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 9:19 AM

He should just come out of the closet; he would be a lot happier.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 9:29 AM

best parts:
heckling girl not having the mental capacity to verbally joust with rollins after antagonizing him. actually, i don't think she'd have the mental capacity to form a complete sentence based on what i saw.

rollins suddenly shifting the focus onto the iranian woman (sorry, didn't catch her name..) to make a point. wow, that made me cringe inside, in same kind of way certain episodes of curb your enthusiasm do, when you're really embarrassed for the character. i felt bad for her.

finally, the last spot in the town car where he talks about his awards. oh man.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 9:29 AM

Rollins was definitely overly confrontational and spoiling for a fight. That said, please stop defending that idiot girl. She saw him with a camera crew and decided to yell "Get in the Van!" to draw attention to herself. At that point, she got what she deserved. Act like a civilized human being and maybe you won't get such a negative reaction from the guy.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 9:33 AM

i'm 100% agree with GregBX plus... the girl who was with henry R. was trying to have just a few minutes with H.R. talking about the records at cakeshop til' someone scream "Get in the Van" that take the shit out of Rollins is very ironic if you think about it !!!

Posted by Kazukovox | November 9, 2010 10:13 AM

Henry is the one being presumptuous and narrow-minded here.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 10:35 AM

I love how people are getting pissy about how Rollins behaved here. Of course that's what we've always liked about him and frankly he was right about her.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 10:41 AM

this is really old

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 10:51 AM

there are no two ways about it. Either you side with Meredith or you side with Henry Rollins. No in betweens. The choice you make says a lot about you as a human being.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 11:03 AM

@ 11:03: please enlighten us. exactly what does it say about you as a human being, based on whatever "side" people chose? this is going to be rich.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 11:26 AM

I'm not on either side, but I'll say this for Henry Rollins: he's not the one yelling unfunny references at a "famous" person in order to get attention.

nah, Henry takes the high road: he goes on German reality TV to get attention!

Then again, Meredith has a fucking nose ring, so she's the biggest fool in the room.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 11:45 AM

This is what it means-
If you take the side of Rollins, you prefer your hummus with pita.
If you take sides with the girl, you prefer your hummus with baby carrots.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 11:46 AM

yeah 11:46. this thread needs more hummus "jokes." you are ON THE BALL

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 12:06 PM

Get In The Town Car

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 12:06 PM

Rollins needs thicker skin, but then again who wouldn't be irritated if they had to deal with the likes of Meredith every day of their lives?

Being heckled sucks, being heckled by self righteous no nothing punk wannabees is the worst.

Btw, how old are you anyway, Meredith? Maybe it's time to grow the fuck up a little and wear a different outfit than the one you've been rocking since '99 and 17 years old

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 12:15 PM

12:06 is on MY BALLS.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 12:28 PM

to answer 11:26

if you side with henry rollins, then you side with a possibly over reactive zero tolerance mentality, you side with a putting "punks" in their place mentality, you side with the respecting your proverbial elders mentality

if you side with meredith, then you side with the kill your heroes mentality, you side with the we are all worthy of 15 minutes mentality, you side with the nothing is sacred mentality

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 12:46 PM

If you take a side, then you side with the "one side is better than the other" mentality

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 1:18 PM

siding with Meredith is siding with the concept that any taunt is genius, even if it's super freakin dumb and you don't have a strategy behind screaming easy references at familiar faces

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 1:38 PM

nothing is sacred, but you would accomplish a lot more with smarter put downs than "get in the van"

taking on Rollins is fine, making an ass of yourself while trying to belittle someone who's got a legitimate claim to fame - that's just puny.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 1:41 PM

One time I saw Alan Ruck on the street, I could not recall his name so I said, "Hey Cameron," He smiled said hello and went about his business. Rollins should take a cue from Ruck.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 2:06 PM

that girl is a fucking douchebag

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 2:37 PM

Meredith is a hateful loser, anyone who knows her knows it.

jealous loudmouthed shit talker who's accomplished zero in New York.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 2:45 PM

BUMP!

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 3:45 PM

Rollins embarrasses himself in front of attractive young women in the one place he might actually have a chance at looking cool. haha, funny video

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 3:56 PM

punkster hipsters are the worst hipsters

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 4:14 PM

these ladies, and Hank too, all make me embarrassed to be a white person who likes music made by other white people

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 4:22 PM

i am embarrassed for everyone in that clip. except for ren. ren is all right.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 4:47 PM

Some intelligent comments here, wow I am amazed.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 5:05 PM

it sucks that Meredith is getting any attention out of this.

she sucks!

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 6:11 PM

dude sucks and is irrelevant

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 8:01 PM

She sucks. He sucks. You suck. Basically everything sucks except hummus which is always amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 8:15 PM

she really does suck though

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 8:39 PM

this was like 5 years ago?

Posted by Anonymous | November 9, 2010 9:51 PM

which comments are the intelligent ones?

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2010 12:04 AM

"I know the girl in the video. She is the exact opposite of a trust fund tattooed hipster. She is about as genuinely punk as you can get. No shit."

"genuinely punk" dude she's in a fucking shop where coffee and buttercream cupcakes are served. Those ugly bitches are just in it for the muffins

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2010 6:10 AM

"Rollins embarrasses himself in front of attractive young women in the one place he might actually have a chance at looking cool. haha, funny video"

yup, pretty much

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2010 8:21 AM

This is so outrageous because Rollins is perpetuating a popular interpretation of who these people are and what they represent. But 'hipsters' are now indistinguishable from Disney stars, and are widely recognizable by the vast majority of the public in one way or another, which probably signals this group's lack of, uh, subversiveness (e.g. "I'm not a hipster!"), and is probably suggestive of some type of cultural regeneration.

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2010 8:45 AM

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2010 8:53 AM

that girl in the video used to come into the place I worked. she was in love with all the guys and would get crazy weirdo jealous when one didn't pay attention to her or was seen with another girl. she always seemed to have money, never had a job. dunno about a trustfund, but she definitely isn't poor.

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2010 9:20 AM

heres a question for you guys:

hipster is obviously pretty much a derogatory term these days. was there ever a time where it wasn't and people identified themselves as hipsters?

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2010 3:46 PM

Im gonna Cummus on the Hummus person.

lol

Posted by Anonymous | November 10, 2010 3:47 PM

oh man, just saw this. I know that chick in the video. she is the worst!

Posted by Anonymous | November 11, 2010 5:05 PM

Knowing most of the people in the video, I know that none of them are trust-fund kids that like to hangout and eat fucking cupcakes in the LES, particularly Meredith. They're all punks that work their shitty jobs, set up/play shows and actually do like Black Flag (well, at least until prior to this engaging encounter). Everyone knows that Henry Rollins is a total dick-face, punk icon or not! Since "back in the day," this has been a known fact! Looks like he has some intense self-image issues and came into the Cakeshop with some fucking DAMAGE! Too many tours locked up in the back of a dark U-Haul truck, writing terrible poetry might do that to you. Fuck Henry Rollins! Greg Ginn was the backbone of Black Flag anyway! You'd never see his ass on TV trying to pick a fight with a younger lady (whether or not she "tried him" or not), while putting another woman in between them- LOSER, LOSER, LOSER! That's exactly what a wiener-hipster would do Henry! P.S. Suck it to everyone on this thread who decided to make personal comments about Meredith- too bad that you're not able to just do it in person and have to post them anonymously. Again: LOSER, LOSER, LOSER!

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2010 2:17 AM

Rollins is not a person you heckle.I think Henry Rollins should have had more of a sense of humor though,he looked like a dick.

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2010 4:58 PM

nobody looks good in this video. the kid heckling is obnoxious and inane and entitled, the star being easily ensnared is petty and just sad. it's embarrassing for punk, young and old.

Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2010 5:05 PM

After watching this a second time that girl is a twat and deserved it.Hey Sweet tooth get in the van? pampered hipster

Posted by Anonymous | November 17, 2010 11:26 AM

Would it be worth knowing that Sweettooth is a person that used to live in New York?

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2010 5:17 PM

Get in the town car!

Posted by Bill | November 25, 2010 3:14 PM

She was clearly the instigator, Henry defended himself, and then introduced the girls to someone who's work is of cultural significance. The girl was being really sarcastic. Henry did stereotype these people, and stereotyping is all he is at fault for whether or not he was accurate.

HANK >>>>>>>>>>>>> THE ARCADE DIRE!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 11:26 AM

HENRY PUNKED YOU ELITIST TRUST FUND WILLIAMSBURG DIPSTER DUMBASSES, HAHAHA, YOU ARE ALL LIARS, YOU'RE LIARRRRRS!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 11:37 AM

Put all those dumb trust-fund dipster chicks together and you wouldn't have a three-digit IQ.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:08 PM

"Rollins embarrasses himself in front of attractive young women in the one place he might actually have a chance at looking cool."

You lost with "attractive young women." These trust fund dipster chicks are pooches.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:11 PM

Rollins might be a grumpy old man, but he could knock any of you whiny trust funded Ohio-transplant Williamsburg dipster turds out with one punch, and that's what really bothers you, he's a man and you are a bunch of wimps.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:16 PM

open letter to henry-

this " trust fund chick" is obviously a fan of your's, and so, why so paranoid? cuz henry got money from mac to start his business? who cares? so did pixar. I've read "get in the van" and your other work, and your spoken word records. in high school I found "out of the box" to be very inspiring and life affirming while going through teenage angst. if the "chick" knows that book, then she is very likely to be a fan of your work. even if you did win a grammy, your written work isn't well known to the masses, so people from a specific self-selected demographic are going to be the ones seeking out your material. chill henry chill. and yes people know who shirin neshat is too, so don't act so egalitarian yourself cuz youre going out on date with her. her work is great, I wrote a review of one of her shows published for a chicago based magazine a few years ago. I say this with all sincerity, I have been a fan of your work and am friends with 2 of your co-workers whove worked with you on H is for Hunger and Feast. I dont think most of your fans have any enmity toward you. take care.

Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
