Rollins

Henry Rollins, whose only upcoming 2010 show is a sort of live radio-but-not-radio KCRW show at the Echoplex in LA on December 9th, is turning 50 on February 13th, 2011. And to celebrate he'll be going out on spoken word tour entitled "50". All dates aren't announced yet, but they will include a special 50th birthday event in Henry's native Washington, DC on February 13, sandwiched between multiple-night runs at Joe's Pub in New York (February 8-12) and Largo in Los Angeles (February 16-19).

$35 tickets for the five NYC shows go on sale Friday, December 3rd, at noon - online and at the box office (or at 212-967-7555). "Hipster elite" beware.

In related stuff, check out part one of our interview w/ Keith Morris & Dimitri Coats. Part two is on the way.

Dear BV

New post soon please. Sick of looking at his wirey ass.

Dear 11:16

Sexism and racism is to an extent a part of our DNA. Nobody carries 0% sexist tendencies, nor does any have 0% racial prejudices. NOBODY. Anyone who says they are at 0% are a) denying biology for the sake of being accepted, b) a liar c) running for some sort of office

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 11:28 PM

Does he...Or doesn't he? Only Henry Rollins' hairdresser knows for sure.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:11 AM

Rollins spoken word is and always has been amazing and inspirational. From my days of sitting on the floor listening to him speak at City Gardens to seeing him in giant seated theaters in NYC, it is always fucking awesome. Fuck the haters (more chances for me to get tickets to these shows)

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:18 AM

i want to have gay sex with henry.

Posted by wiki leaks | December 1, 2010 12:30 AM

You couldn't pay me $35 to see this guy speak.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:34 AM

HANK >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> THE FUCKING ARCADE FUCKING DIRE.

OME OMG OMG I LOATHE THE ARCADE DIRE!!!!!

Posted by ADG | December 1, 2010 12:51 AM

Hank was downright pretty in his Charlie Manson period.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:52 AM

is he trying to channel jim morrison in this photo?

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:17 AM

He's almost as pretty as young Morrison there.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:23 AM

I just call it as I see it.

Posted by anonamus | December 1, 2010 5:23 AM

Get him to the Greek!!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 8:40 AM

"is he trying to channel jim morrison in this photo?"

If that's the case, who is EVERYONE hanging around Williamsburg, Silver Lake, the Mission District, etc. trying to channel?

Rollins is way more of an individual, iconic even, than most musicians today.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 8:55 AM

Sick Pinhead!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 8:58 AM

a fucking legend!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:17 AM

Nothing wrong with channelling Morrison -- Morrison is still cooler than the little trust fund muppets who hang around Williamsburg trying to impress each other.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:29 AM

Hank can beat up Win Butler any day.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:31 AM

Seeing all these stupid little comments make me think how much you girls would shit themselves if you were confronted by Henry face to face.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:33 AM

BLACK FLAG reunion, fuck this wah-wah spoken word bullshit

Posted by Jerry | December 1, 2010 9:42 AM

Rollins Band were a great band. Too bad they are only known for "Liar".

This spoken word shit needs to end.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:44 AM

Henry can still kick the shit out of all these little Williamsburg trust fund hipster shits.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:52 AM

if you say Hank ain't cool you're a

LIAR, YOU'RE A FUCKING LIIIIIIIAAARRRRRR!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:55 AM

GREAT CHOICE OF PICTURE

LOLLLLOL HAHAHAHA

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:58 AM

LEAVE HENRY ALONE -- JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 11:08 AM

Dear 11:28 PM
I never said people couldn't be naturally "ist" but its a waste of time to pay Henry Rollins money, hoping for something interesting, and instead he sounds like grandpa complaining. Often times sexist tinged rants are nothing new or particularly worth listening to.

You can hear men saying the same complaints about women over and over again in any song - esp new Kanye - those lyrics about relationships are so weak. At least he's not passing it off as "spoken word." Pretentious!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 11:08 AM

Narcissism to the core. Henry wouldn't know how to have a conversation if it wasn't about himself, and some black coffee.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 11:15 AM

11:08 is a

LIAR, YOU'RE A FUCKING LIAAAAARRRRRRR, HANK IS SO MUCH COOLER THAN YOU, BECAUSE YOU'RE A LIIIIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 11:29 AM

blue collar wisdom + melodramatic sensitivity + false modesty = 99% of idiots holding a microphone

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:51 PM

He's looking pretty "over-tattooed."

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:52 PM

is it in fact unfair to criticize a formerly great artist for his latter day sins, is it better to burn out or fade away?

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:02 PM

1:02: ask Neil Young

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:03 PM

Hank had tatties before they were cool.

The dipsters need theirs removed Sons of Anarchy style.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:17 PM

who is hank?

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:21 PM

Hank Rollins, of course.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:30 PM

I asked if he was channeling Morrison but lets get this staight - Morrison is totally out of his orbit.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:34 PM

Artistically or photogenically or both?

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:45 PM

@9:40 Oh you don't say? and what have you done with your life?

@10:00 MGMT should never be mentioned in the same breath as Rollins or anything having to do with Rollins.

Go back to Connecticut hipster tools.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:10 PM

Rollins is the best, and if you say otherwise.....

YOU'RE A LIARRRRRRRR, A FUCKING LIIIIIIAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:21 PM

both

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:43 PM

OK

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 3:37 PM

Rollins is the anti-Morrison, being Mr.
Str8 Edge.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 3:37 PM

I've gotta commend Henry Rollins for putting that girl in her place. I think we're all a little fed up with having to endure young women calling out the names of our books while we try to shop with our film crew. It's about time someone was man enough to stand up to these hipster girls who think they're safe in the LES. Seriously...WTF is that? He's pathetic.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 4:32 PM

4:32 is a big fat...

LIAR!, YOU'RE A LIAR!, YOU LIE YOU LIE YOU DIRTY LIARRRRRRR!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 6:39 PM

I had a desire to make my company, nevertheless I did not have enough of money to do that. Thank God my close dude proposed to utilize the personal loans. So I received the short term loan and made real my dream.
