Posted by a | November 5, 2010 12:02 PM

So How come you didn't post when the Keith Richards tickets had gone on sale for the NYPL? Huh Brooklyn Vegan?

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:04 PM

cause nobody cares about keith richards.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:13 PM

Keith Richards > Jay-Z

Posted by Anon | November 5, 2010 12:18 PM

yeah, nobody cares about Keith Richards, is why the tickets to his library talk sold out in six seconds.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:26 PM

Fuck the New York Public Library.

Bunch of uptight douchebags who think that all of a sudden they are cool because they are promoting book events like this.

Go to a bookstore if you want a book, or a concert hall if you want to see music.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:28 PM

RE; Keith Richards vs. Jay Z:

The Velvet Underground was still the coolest thing the library ever had.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:29 PM

anyone having any luck with these tixs?

Posted by anon | November 5, 2010 12:31 PM

12:31 - Hell No! Over a half hour in the queue and there's now a message saying its sold out!

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:38 PM

Not much of a heads-up with a posting at 11:55!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:49 PM

First of all for those trying to get tickets to hear Jay Z talk about his book, I can only sit back and laugh at you. Lame idiots.

Secondly, again with wrong info posted on here. Keith Richards tickets did not sell out in six seconds. Took a lil bit but no big deal cause I (and a number of others I saw that night) walked up and bought face tickets from people outside night of the event.

For those that missed it, it was a complete waste of time. Keith's new book is an amazing read but hearing the man talk in person is brutal. He basically mumbles at this point.

Yes agreed with the person above who said that The VU thing was the best so far.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:49 PM

hey brooklyn douchebag, how about picking up your game and announcing things sooner. asshole.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 12:56 PM

love jay z. too bad its sold out

Posted by merchant services | November 5, 2010 1:01 PM

Bullshit. There were no tickets outside for face value for Keith Richards. IF you got lucky and got an extra from someone that's great for you. But to suggest that tickets were easy to come by for anyone that just walked up the night of is a big fat lie.

There were about two dozen people looking, and all got shut out. There were no extra tickets out there for face. Any extras were hard to come by and were going for several hundred dollars each.

BUt I do agree it was a waste of time.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:03 PM

What are you talking about? THe Keith thing did indeed sell out in seconds and there were no extras out there for face.

I was on line early and I saw many people trying for extras and no one having any. The Library also did not make it easy for people to buy or sell any extra tickets the way they had the whole thing set up.

You're full of crap. Probably weren't even there.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:07 PM

12:56, are you serious? my god...

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:09 PM

Why the fuck are you people complaining. You get what you deserve for being bamboozled into being a fan of the biggest douchebag to hit music since puffy!

Jay Z sucks...great marketing and salesman (knows how to fool all of the people all of the time) but one of the worst musical artists of all time!

Hopefully Al Queda targets the NYPL w a giant bomb that night and it's the last we ever hear of this clown.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:11 PM

12:49 did not walk right up and buy and extra ticket.. And he did not see others do this either. I was there for quite a while on line waiting to get in and no transactions were going on of such a simple face value exchange. There were many people constantly going up and down the line looking for extras and getting none.

I only saw one thing go down, for Five hundred bucks! And that was from a crooked library employee promising to get the person inside.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:15 PM

12:49 here, to respond to the few idiots after saying there were no tickets for face. What time did you losers get there when you say early cause I and at least 3 others who got there probably as the first 2 people on line got there all found extras for face. Maybe you came too late when those extras were gone. Too bad for you. Next time get there early enough dumbasses.

Saying there were 2 dozen people looking and no one got any and none for face is you lying you piece of shit.

Again this did not sell out in seconds either as my friend got a ticket about 4 minutes after sale.

As for the last comment about me not being there, I can describe most of the evening and what was said that i could decipher. I would love to shove that right up your fucking lying mouth and make you look stupid.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:17 PM

back to work 1:17... those TPS reports aren't going to write themselves.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:22 PM

12:49 you spew venom to hide your disgusting lies. I was there early. More early than you for certain. I had that area scoured looking for a ticket and there were none to be found. How dare you lie about this? You son of a bitch.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:22 PM

Hey 1:15, 12:49 here, eat shit asshole. You have no idea what i did so go fuck yourself.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:23 PM

The stupidity of some arguments on this blog is beyond belief !

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:24 PM

1:22,Aww loser sorry you did not get a ticket but unfortunately I was there before you and did get one. You can cry and bitch and moan and call me a liar and think I didn't if that makes you feel better

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:24 PM

1:24:

I know you are full of shit because I was there all afternoon (WITH A TICKET) and saw that NOBODY got in that didn't already have one. Nice try.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:25 PM

1:25:

WRONG, but nice try

"I was there for quite a while on line waiting to get in and no transactions were going on of such a simple face value exchange"

Oh you were on line watching and of course those x ray eyes of yours were looking around the corner to see if any transactions were going down. Or you were pacing around all over the place looking for any transaction tsking place, right?

Moron.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:28 PM

"As for the last comment about me not being there, I can describe most of the evening and what was said that i could decipher."

That's pretty easy. All you have to do is read a review of the event on line. Idiot.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:28 PM

"That's pretty easy. All you have to do is read a review of the event on line. Idiot."

Yeah because the wrote every little thing that Keith said word for word.

Whose the idiot?

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:30 PM

this is a pretty hilarious thread, carry on

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:31 PM

HA HA HA. I know for a fact that the first few people got on line more than 5 hours before the event started. So if you got there that early, you waited in line for FIVE FREAKING HOURS to see something that you describe yourself as a waste of time.l... HA HA HA. You deserved that face value ticket you freaking loser!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:31 PM

12:49, why do you lie? whats your motive? just for kicks, you sick fuck?
tell me where exactly you got this ticket and what time. Corroborate your story. What's that? You can't because you're full of shit? Worthless cunt.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:31 PM

people aint gon sell no ticket to no keith richard for no face, man aint go sell no jay z for no face nuttin

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:32 PM

12:49 back one more time. This is kind of funny the morons who were not able to get tickets being all irate cause i managed to get one for face. In tears laughing at you now.

1:31, agreed that waiting around for a while for this event in retrospect was lame considering it sucked big time.

As for the haters, I am done. Go on and keep posting how I am lying etc etc. You can make 1200 posts but it still will not make it true.
Fortunately for me I got one outside for face, Unfortunately for many of you, you did not.

Tough luck.

Don't worry though losers, you did not miss much.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:37 PM

12:49 - come back!

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:51 PM

Can you eat in the library? I'd love to snack on some hummus while hearing about literature.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:56 PM

12:49, you worthless son of a whore, admit you never got a ticket. admit it you sack of shit. thats why you left. you got caught in your web of deceit. lies have no legs asshole.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 1:57 PM

WHAT ABOUT THE FREE nas/cee-lo/diplo/kanye CONCERT????

www.showclix.com/event/15025

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 2:11 PM

Keith Richards at NYPL sold out in 46 seconds, and Jay-Z said that he would beat it. If you were at the Richards event you would've heard this. Anyway, the night was a bit tedious but the price of admission came with a signed copy of the book. Check ebay, those copies are selling for $500 or so now. Not a total waste.

Posted by keith-z | November 5, 2010 2:19 PM

def. think yhe back & forth above is all one person. which is kinda awesome, kinda sad.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 2:37 PM

i hadn't considered that it was one person. though sometimes i think a lot of these threads are. what i would give to be able to see the IP addresses of all the posts.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 2:57 PM

does anybody know if people from the Keith Richard's event were able to sell BOTH of their tickets from will-call? or was it only their +1?

Basically, what was the will-call process like for Keith Richards on the night of the event???

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 3:10 PM

They had a table set up outside where you got the tickets and slip for the book, then you could either get in a queue or not, so, yeah, you could've sold both tickets that evening. It will probably be the same for Jay-Z.

At the Richards event the first section and the front 2nd section were all reserved seating, which was pretty annoying. For all you VU fans, the funny...or sad thing was that Lou Reed had one of the poorest reserved seats in the house in the 2nd row of the 2nd section, seated next to Richard Belzer. They kinda looked like brothers. Steven Van Zandt had a much better seat, in the third or four row.

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 3:26 PM

i wonder what kind of boring small talk lou reed and richard belzer had

Posted by Anonymous | November 5, 2010 4:13 PM

the funny back and forth conversation was not written by the same guy, unless he's really good and has different writing personas.

i think the second 1:22, the third 1:31 and 1:57 are the same person and he's just having fun and intentionally trying to provide comic relief.

I'm afraid it's all a fraud. Unfortunately, almost a decade only everything revolves around money. People who until recently had an enviable character fall prey to these temptations. Unfortunately, society as a whole began to decline and only fault I see greed. We humans would be to think that there are many other things more important than money. And maybe we will be able to change something in our thinking.
