LCD, FOALS yes!

Gorillaz should be higher...way higher..whatever

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:08 PM

gotta love how they rate My Chemical Romance at #48 (I haven't heard it so I won't rush to judge whether it belongs on the list), but feature the My Chemical Romance bro as the biggest on the cover.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:10 PM

nme hasnt been relevant since 1999.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:12 PM

Ahhh, It must be December: Chill in the air, rampant consumerism, and pointless year end lists from publications that are obviously on their last legs.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:13 PM

The top 5 years of The Fall:
1982
1981
1985

It shouldn't matter what magazines think.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:18 PM

yay for no wavves

boo for no tame impala

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:19 PM

LCD is #4 and B&S are #60? Seriously? NME need to get their ears replaced.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:29 PM

No LOWER DENS? Terrible list.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:32 PM

Why do year-end lists mainly ONLY consist of albums that fall under the genre of "indie rock"?

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:38 PM

Flying Lotus, Gorillaz, Joanna Newsom, No Age are waaaaaay too low.

LCD? at #4? what?

Posted by Anonymal | November 30, 2010 12:40 PM

Arcade fire are winning that grammy!! Go indie!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:41 PM

this list is fucked.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:45 PM

12:40 Lcd album is great...deserved number 4...Where is Hot Chip?

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:46 PM

Who the F*CK is Laura Marling?

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:46 PM

lower dens should be listed on everyone of these "top #" lists. I think tamaryn deserves a spot too, that album was pretty great.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:47 PM

No Local Natives?

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:51 PM

Los Campesinos! ?

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:51 PM

Overall poor picks. Most of these fall under boring. Where's Titus Andronicus, RVIVR, screaming females, Los Campesinos, Grace Potter, Shout Out Louds, The Gaslight Anthem, The Thermals, Wolf Parade, Jukebox the Ghost? C'mon. Who's with me?

Posted by Sarah | November 30, 2010 12:51 PM

What about screaming females!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:58 PM

Los tigres del norte?

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 12:58 PM

NME is based in the UK... so that is why the list is like this... as it is every year aka artists like Laura Marling

There are a good amount of decent artists on it.

If the list was based here, Kanye would be number 1 followed by Drake and Katy Perry.

Exactly why I prefer NME list.

Posted by C | November 30, 2010 1:03 PM

halycon digest is #1 for me all the way

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:03 PM

12:51--- must agree. Titus' album was probably the best of the year. But according to NME it isn't even in the top 75? What a bunch of idiots.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:06 PM

"12:40 Lcd album is great...deserved number 4...Where is Hot Chip?"

i'm a big hot chip fan, but that album does not belong on these lists. sorry, try again next year

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:10 PM

Talk about diluting the "Best of" list with 75 albums. It actually makes the list less meaningful.

/Doesn't actually like lists, but likes posting gripes on BV.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:10 PM

How did Antoine Dodson - Bed Intruder not make this list...

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:16 PM

you said it 1:03

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:17 PM

no Korn? no Disturbed? no Filter?

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:17 PM

This is just every indie band that released an album this year.

Posted by riley | November 30, 2010 1:17 PM

THEIR opinion is different from MY opinion!!!!

derrr hummus

Posted by every BV commenter | November 30, 2010 1:18 PM

1:16... it's better than that fucking LCD Soundsystem album anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:18 PM

i meant the 1st 1:03 - C

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:18 PM

Truly horrible list. No Burzum? Terrible.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:19 PM

The Brits have much better taste than Americans, we should learn from this.

Of course NME is still relevant, its the Rolling Stone of the UK. Oh, wait....

Lower Dens was underwhelming, glad they're not on.

Posted by Rupert eSilvio | November 30, 2010 1:29 PM

Los Campesinos! ?Los Campesinos! ?Los Campesinos! ?Los Campesinos! ?Los Campesinos! ?

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:40 PM

yeasayer is terrible. and that was confirmed when i recently saw them live.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:45 PM

This is a better list than Q list, but still suspect given the lack of inclusion of the Walkmen's Lisbon.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 1:57 PM

Foals album is great-they crushed it live too-well deserved

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 2:01 PM

Spanish Sahara is pretty amazing. Video too

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 2:05 PM

Foals are terrible

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 2:16 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 2:35 PM

Nmeh...

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 2:42 PM

fuck yeah, finally some These New Puritans love

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 3:02 PM

It has been said, but any list without Lisbon on it is not a list of the best albums of 2010.

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 3:08 PM

uhh...the year isnt over yet

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 3:19 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 30, 2010 9:43 PM

UK publication or not, Kanye is STILL on the list, people. Get over it.

Posted by James | November 30, 2010 11:20 PM

Kanye, MGMT and Big Boi need to be higher, The National need to be lower, most boring band.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:38 AM

Danzig's Deth Red Saboath >>>>>> all of this crap.

What a shit year for music.

Rock isn't dead, but it sure smells funny.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:54 AM

Arcade Fucking Dire, #2 -- rock is dead and it smells like shit.

Posted by Arcade Dire Guy | December 1, 2010 12:56 AM

Keep SWANS, Salem, Gil Scott-Heron, Crocodiles and Grinderman and toss the rest.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 12:59 AM

Lack of Titus Andronicus here is embarassing. I mean male bonding over titus andronicus? Seriously?

Posted by Greenberg | December 1, 2010 6:34 AM

I like turtles.

Posted by jonathan | December 1, 2010 7:38 AM

^ Dude the Turtles have not had a good album in 50 years....I wouldn't even put them in the top 50 of that year either...update your music there daddy o'

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 8:01 AM

2:16-Katy Perry more to your liking? Dooooosh

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:25 AM

Still laughing about them placing My Chemical Romance > Gorillaz, Crocodiles and Gil Scott Heron, let alone on the list at all.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 11:02 AM

why does NME always have to put a UK band as number 1? what's up with all this national pride/supremacy?

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:21 PM

LOL this list is absurd. Kanye West should be much higher.

In fact, NME gave Kanye West's recent release 9/10 while the gave the recent Klaxons 8/10, so someone explain to me how the beep klaxons are above Kanye?

Posted by anon | December 2, 2010 7:52 AM

Im with all the Los Campesinos! and what about Tame Impala! And what about Toro Y Moi! and what about Twin Shadow! and Wild Nothing! and Baths! and Ty Segall! and Thieves Like Us! and Woozy Viper! and Woods and Young Man!
