Throbbing Gristle sadly report:

We are saddened to announce the death of Peter Christopherson.
Sleazy passed away peacefully in his sleep on the
24th November 2010 at his home in Bankok.
Chris Carter also tweeted, "Our dearest beautiful Sleazy left this mortal coil as he slept in peace last night. Words cannot express our grief." RIP Sleazy.

Throbbing Gristle recently ended a tour early, but were still scheduled to play ATP's upcoming The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Throbbing Gristle played multiple NYC reunion shows in 2009. Those were at Le Poisson Rouge and Brooklyn Masonic Temple (more than once).

Peter spent a very busy and long day working and had been in good mood. He had an excellent dinner, went to bed and fell asleep in a post-coital slumber. His houseboys found him unresponsive in the morning and it’s believed he indeed had a massive heart attack while he slept. He wasn’t sick and there was no warning but it was, ultimately, a good way to check out. He was a kind, gentle and very intelligent person that made some of the best music I’ve ever heard and the world is truly a lesser place…he's now with Jhonn again on the other side.

Saddest day since Ari Up died - Coil made frightening, transcendent, expansive and literally free music. Thanks for the update on what happened, Greg - glad to know he died in a peaceful way after a lifetime of total adventure and total creation.

Wow. It was peaceful so thats reassuring after his great music contribution beyond belief with Coil and TG. None the less very sad.

tears for my uncle sleazy,
ahead of his times founding father
and my youth hero.

Sucks. Glad I saw him live with TG when I had the chance.

Fuck. For some reason I was thinking it was heart failure.

I'm not a believer, but it is nice to think that (in a sense) he is with Jhonn now and so soon.

And to think just last year I had seen him and the TG crew perform (for the lifetime of me), they seemed in such good spirits...

There is a huge, fantastic dedication to Sleazy including statements from many musicians here> http://brainwashed.com/

It was sad to know about the death of Peter Christopherson. He was a good musician and directer. God bless his soul.
