Green GrassHollywood Town Hall

The Jayhawks are releasing reissued and expanded editions of Hollywood Town Hall and Tomorrow the Green Grass on January 18th. On January 20th the alt-country band will perform Hollywood Town Hall live at Webster Hall in NYC. On the 21st they'll perform Tomorrow the Green Grass at the same venue. Tickets for both shows go on a band presale on Tuesday at 10am, then AmEx presale Wednesday at noon, and then general sale Friday at noon.

The Jayhawks reunited over the summer for three big shows in Minneapolis, and will also play a show on the reissue release day at the Phoenix in Toronto.

The band's lineup for these dates will comprise Gary Louris (guitar, vocals), Mark Olson (guitar, vocals), Marc Perlman (bass), Karen Grotberg (keyboards) and Tim O'Reagan (drums).
"I'm very excited about the reissue of Hollywood Town Hall and Tomorrow the Green Grass," says Olson. "It's great that our fans will get a chance to hear some of our earliest songwriting through the bonus tracks."
Louris adds, "These tour dates will also be an opportunity for fans who didn't catch us early in our career, to hear these songs played again. The Jayhawks are re-energized and our next chapter starts with these shows in January."

Gary Louris sounds great these days, just as good as ever. Sadly, the same can't be said of Mark, who is such a nice guy but who has aged badly, including his voice.

These shows are going to be ok, but I don't expect that they are going to be anything to write home about.

3:52 is right.

At Town Hall you will be able to hear all the finest details of the music. At Webster Hall you will be able to hear the guy next to you shouting to his date about the time he saw the Jayhawks in 1994.

Very excited about this. The only time I saw the Jayhawks was post Olson, when they were touring for Sound of Lies. It was a great show, and Sound Of Lies is an awesome album, but I want to hear the two of them together.

Saw them at Primavera Sound 2008 in Barcelona (one of their only two reunion dates that year) and they were fantastic. Can't wait for these shows.
