The Big Sleep's current drummer Mikey Jones in the band Heaven who are playing a free late show at Mercury Lounge tonight after The Big Sleep play a show at Pianos with Keepaway.

If things seem off on the site at all today and tomorrow it's because BBG and I are working in Austin where we'll be through Monday for Fun Fun Fun Fest which sort of kicks off tonight with a Toyota Antics-presented pre-party featuring a headlining set by the Helio Sequence. If things seem normal, forget I said anything.

Guided by Voices were supposed to play Fallon tonight, but they cancelled their TV appearance.

Yes, worst taste in music because I'd love to see Lucero play a smaller venue rather than see them play with Social Distortion at Roseland, a band I stopped listening to in the mid 90s at a venue I dislike. Worst evar.
