"What a better way to celebrate Halloween then w/ a black metal show of epic proportions! Woe & Krieg" - Wren Leader
"I know nothing about either band, 'cept that
I just saw Woe & they killed" - AnUncontrollableUrge
Chris Grigg on stage with Woe

Woe frontman/Krieg drummer Chris Grigg did double duty late Saturday night, in the wee hours of Halloween, as Woe supported Krieg at Knitting Factory as part of the BrooklynVegan/Haunting The Chapel production that directly followed the AGE/Hellshock which concluded before 12. Pictures and video from the late show are in this post.
Both Krieg and Woe are touring in support of their new Candlelight LPs, The Isolationist and Quietly, Undramatically respectively. Both are out now and worth a listen.
More pictures and some video from the midnight black mass are below.

This show fucking sucked ass. Crowd was way lame (no moshing allowed, cuz apparently black metal on Halloween shouldn't be about being METAL, it's about holding your dick and feeling sorry for yourself). Woe was crap. Never seen Krieg, expected to see some demented shit ala the black house, instead get some fat fucking hipster in galoshes sporting a trendy elvis-do / goatee combo. No. Black metal this is not.

Best comment EVER! What bands DO you like, captain metal?
Posted by Hahaha! | November 2, 2010 1:56 PM
I'm sure the bands are concerned that you're sad you didn't get to touch other men in the mosh pit.

I think that 12:41 was that douche in the corpse paint that tried moshing and got laid on his fucking ass. Nice try!

I'm guessing you're asking about Whitehead since he played on the new album. Live bassist was Shawn Riley of Rumpelstiltskin Grinder.

Krieg usually has a different lineup every now and then. I saw them in last year at Matchitehew Assembly in Chicago and they had Blake from Nachtmystium play bass.

Way to focus on the fashion and not the music.
