"The Rock & Roll Circus, a two-day, three-ring, musical extravaganza featuring Ariel Pink, Amazing Baby, Nick Zinner and Aska, Saint Motel, contortionist, acrobats, and more will kick off 2011 under the 40,000 square foot Big Apple Circus Tent at Lincoln Center on January 3rd and 4th."
Meanwhile you can catch Ariel Pink (who strangely replaced OK Go on the originally advertised circus lineup) in Brooklyn on New Years Eve (aka tonight).

so no bands or musicians play in the big apple circus tent during its annual lincoln center residency for over 30 years, until another promoter produces devotchka and angus and julia stone with circus talent back in october....then these guys come in with mere weeks notice and claim to have been planning for ages with this ammmmmaaaaazing never produced before concept? do i spoiled party promoters with no music production experience turned plagiarizers? come'on. ok go obviously backed out with good reason.

Didn't The Rolling Stones do this first? So who's biting who - and who bit who first? Who cares? Plus OK Go sucks anyway, Ariel Pink is way better!

it seems like they have done a great job of bringing together some really amazing bands, and all ideas in this world are shared and reinvented always.... why complain, its just music and art, meant to be shared, meant to be heard.

wtf happened at this show tonite?

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2011 12:20 AM

that was one of the craziest, oddest shows i've been to in a while. pandemonium broke loose. if tomorrow's day 2 even happens, that'll be the last time lincoln center opens its doors to rock bands. it was pretty fun till the very end. stupid kids, agro's for dorks.

Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
