Citizens Arrest

There were a considerable amount of "thank you"s and "it's an honor"s peppered in between hyper blasts and vocal grunts at Knitting Factory. The reunited Citizens Arrest played the Brooklyn venue on Friday (12/17), and then one more show at Kung Fu Necktie in Philadelphia the next night. It wasn't their first outing thought - they played a surprise show on Long Island on 12/4/10, but it was their first with Ted Leo back on guitar (Ted was on tour during the Long Island show).

Mind Eraser and Asshole Parade also played Knitting Factory as part of a helluva of a triple bill. All three bands killed, though both cXa and Mind Eraser were jawdropping. More pictures and video from Knitting Factory, as well as video from Kung Fu Necktie is below...

Posted by Anonymous | December 19, 2010 7:05 PM

I didn't know Chino and Ben Folds had new bands...

Posted by Anonymous | December 19, 2010 7:07 PM

I'm absolutely sick to my stomach that I missed this show... Awesome!

Posted by Anonymous | December 19, 2010 7:13 PM

I'm absolutely sick to my stomach that you wanted to go to this show

Posted by Anonymous | December 19, 2010 7:19 PM

In absolutely suck to my stomach because I just ate some leftover hummus that wasn't properly refrigerated.

Posted by Anonymous | December 19, 2010 7:21 PM

Ted Leo is so talented! I love this fuckin guy! He's just the voice of our generation, really. He's like Gandhi but wiser. Ugh, doesn't he just get your dick going in all sorts of ways? Oh wait, nevermind, wrong guy, Ted Leo sucks dog cock.

Posted by Anonymous | December 19, 2010 7:22 PM

I can't wait to ring in the new year with Sharon Jones.

Birther party.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 12:36 AM

I think I saw one female attendee in the entire audience. That's all I'm gonna say.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 3:35 AM

Why are these brohams so pissed off? They're clearly enjoying a plentiful diet, have glasses if needed, free time, etc.

Posted by Brian | December 20, 2010 8:56 AM

wow. the commenting just gets more and more creative with each passing day. and who the fuck is chino and ben folds? CA rules.

BBG, you must laugh yr ass off every time you read the comments on yr posts. people are idiots. nice write up and nice pics...

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 9:19 AM

There were actually a lot of women in attendance, and I'm pretty sure that the only "Birther" question they might have is why you were born.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 9:46 AM

Amazing show! If you weren't there, sorry... I'm sure your parents' rumpus room was a lot of fun too.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 10:28 AM

you ever dance with the devil in the pale moon light?

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 10:37 AM

10:37
I was the fuck annoyed that they weren't let back into the country.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 10:45 AM

But what does Cooch think about this?

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 10:54 AM

yea, They're clearly enjoying a plentiful diet, have glasses if needed, free time, etc.

Posted by Massagem Tântrica | December 20, 2010 10:58 AM

Great coverage, BBG!

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 11:14 AM

@12:14 Macho? You quite obviously know nothing about music.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 11:57 AM

I love the sound of babies crying...in India and Japan only.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 12:48 PM

Oh sorry, I thought this was the Weezer thread.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 1:34 PM

Guided By White People.

Where's Lauryn Hill when you need her!

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 1:36 PM

"why are those guys so mad at stuff?"

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 2:20 PM

Yah those a darn ABC No Rio bands were so darn macho and violent.!!!

Then again the were around before you were most likely born.

Maybe your a child? Thirty year olds can be scary to toddlers.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 2:50 PM

"Ted Leo hates Mexican people."

- Barack Obama at the Bowery in '97 for lunch

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 2:54 PM

Yeah, and why do some of them wear glasses? Too stupid, and poor to wear contacts... myopic jerks!

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 2:55 PM

Its shocking to me that a CxA thread has received so much attention. Where were all these people when they were around, I dont think I ever saw more than 30-40 people at a show way back.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 3:09 PM

I for one was angered by this ABC No Rio band's June band reunion macho anger!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vcnut9GBNaw

Who do they think they were!!!

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 3:24 PM

yes this is a major concern in my life

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 5:52 PM

Hardcore/punk bands don't age well.

Something about approaching middle age aggro doesn't do it for me.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 6:02 PM

@6:02 - What a complete, and utter douchebag statement "doesn't do it for me"... Who the fuck are you, Thurston Howell? Moreover, nobody fucking cares what DOES do it for you.

Posted by Anonymous | December 20, 2010 6:10 PM

Great pictures and a really fun show! Thanks BV for putting them up. I never thought I'd ever get to see this band play. They sounded amazing and crowd was fun.

Posted by Chris Russo | December 20, 2010 6:46 PM

Would've been there if I lived in NYC. Mind Eraser was pretty good live, but they got wiped off the stage the time I saw them. Of course they played after Slang (Japan) who are probably the best live hardcore band on Earth right now.

Posted by Hank Detroit | December 21, 2010 12:08 AM

Looked like a fun show.

Gimme some bands (at least somewhat well-known) that Citizens Arrest and Mind eraser sound like.

Thanks in advance.

Posted by Anonymous | December 21, 2010 10:56 AM

No aggro macho bullshit - only 29 years of enthusiasm for and dedication to hardcore punk.

Posted by Quaid | December 23, 2010 1:00 AM

CXA was AWESOME! The other bands were great too but CXA seriously ROCKED. More more more please!

Posted by Anonymous | December 23, 2010 4:46 PM

great, great show!!
