Cold War Kids at Terminal 5 (more by Bao Nguyen)
Cold War Kids

Cold War Kids have the day off in Mid-Atlantic states today, but will play Charlottesville, VA Thursday and various spots in the Southeast through middle December. On January 25th the band will welcome a new LP, Mine is Yours, via Downtown Records. They'll kick off a North American tour in support in March. That tour includes a very big NYC show, March 24th at Radio City Music Hall to be exact (same month & venue as Bright Eyes). Tickets (like Bright Eyes) are currently on AMEX presale through 9AM on Friday 12/3, and go on regular sale at 11AM that same day.

Who?

Really?? What is this, 2005?? But even then & I wouldn't think they'd be able to fill Radio City.

Everyone & their mothers are playing that venue in the new year.

Posted by M | December 1, 2010 1:47 PM

Or 2006. Whatever. Regardless, I didn't think people still cared about them anymore. I thought they were total flavor o the month.

Posted by M | December 1, 2010 1:48 PM

There is no way 5,000 people still care about this band. Why is every band trying to play Radio City these days?

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 1:50 PM

Hey 1:50 it's actually 6,000 people not 5,000 and this show will be moved to The Rock Shop about a month out just watch.

i don't think they're trying to court the brooklynvegan electorate.

sometimes i am stunned by the bowery presents' hubris / accuracy.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:01 PM

Gee, no Los Angeles-area date. I sure wonder if they'll play Coachella....

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:05 PM

I like this band and all, but....When they played just one year ago there were tickets still available at MHOW the night of the show. I remember bowery presents had sell out for all three nights (1 MHOW, 2 bowery), but it did not sell out all that fast. And as I said, they were still selling ticks noght of.

How may people showed up to that Gas Light Anthem show a few months back?

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:06 PM

I think they played T5 earlier this year. How many tix did they sell for that one?

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:07 PM

such a joke. this band will go the clap your hands route in a year, watch.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:07 PM

Clap your hands say meh

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:10 PM

Radio City MEHsic Hall

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:10 PM

TerMEHnal 5 sucks!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:11 PM

i saw them open for muse at msg and it was TERRIBLE

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:21 PM

if you paid to see muse at MSG, well, you deserved that

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 2:36 PM

Very much a stretch for Cold War Kids... even if they sold out T 5... Radio City is in a different league...tickets will be much higher , etc... it took Spoon 15 years to get to RCMH. I think Bright Eyes will be fine because Conor has a crazy devoted following and hasn't played as B E in awhile plus I think last time he sold out a week at Town Hall or something.. and he has strong openers in Superchunk & Wild Flag...

CWK will have problems with the $50 price tag. it would be an awesome place to see em but theyre over shooting themselves.

shoulda booked beacon.

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 3:14 PM

Anybody who saw these guys opening for Muse back in '06 will know that Radio City is a big stretch for them. I mean, seriously? Radio City? For the Cold War Kids? Did I read that correctly?

(Okay, I'm done w/ the questions)

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 3:39 PM

Seriously doubt this show won't be downsized, just to chime in.

Who wants to pay $50 for the left upper tier of RCMH of a Cold War Kids show?

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 5:03 PM

I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | December 1, 2010 9:07 PM

Cold War Kids is one of my favorite bands!!! I adore American Indie Rock! It usually suits my mood most of all. That would be great to visit that concert!!! And I would pay $50 to go there! By the way, does anyone know are there any tickets left for this concert in Nashville?

People said the same thing about the national when they announced a radio city gig.......they sold it out

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2010 11:03 AM

The National are from NYC and had some big area plays under their belt and very well acclaimed record... no way in hell CWK sells out RCMH .. they'll close a balcony or two for sure..

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2010 11:14 AM

The national sold out very very quickly.
