Judas Priest at PNC Bank Arts Center (more here)

"The 59-year-old Judas Priest veteran blazed through several tracks [at MSG] before stopping to chat with the audience, thanking them very sincerely and introducing the cover songs that he subsequently launched into--these tracks included a Fleetwood Mac cover, a reinterpretation of Joan Baez's "Diamonds and Rust," and the Judas Priest track "Jawbreaker."" [WSOU blog]Rob Halford of Judas Priest played Madison Square Garden in NYC on December 1st and Izod Center on Dec 3rd with Ozzy Osbourne, and the pair have three more dates together on their current trek. Tonight, 12/7, the "Metal God" and the "Prince of Darkness" will be in Grand Rapids Michigan.
Meanwhile, the recently Grammy-nominated Judas Priest have announced that they are calling it quits. The announcement came with news of a European tour, but additional shows "hitting all the major cities throughout the world" are still to be announced for the tour they've dubbed "Epitaph 2011", so stay tuned for those.

As much as I love them, it's hard to be mad about this. They're old, and they've been at it for so long. Glad I got to see them a couple of times in the last decade.
Farewell Priest \m/

This is really the best thing they could do at this point....band still sounds great live, and Halford can still pull most of the tune off. It's laughable to say a 40 year old band will be going out on top, but certainly going out while still vital....

With all the reunion cash in's, it's actually kinda nice to hear someone's breaking up.

Never saw Priest live, hope to catch them on their final farewell.
Since it was Ozzy's birthday that day, did they do anything special?

Pretty sure they've gotten their reunion check cashed in a few times already.
Definitely sad to see them go but when you release a record as bad as Nostradamus, you've got no other option other than to do greatest hits tours until the end of time or just break up.
I'll go see them one last time, though, ticket prices permitting.
