Prince & Janelle Monae @ Madison Square Garden - 12/29/10 (pic by Jake Rocks Off)
Prince

Like he did on 12/18, Prince played Madison Square Garden on 12/29, but this time with help from Mint Condition, Janelle Monae and special guest Cyndi Lauper (though not Sheila E again despite an announcement by MSG that she would be there). Full setlist, a video and a few more pictures below...

I'm not your lover,
I'm not your friend,
I am hummus that you'll never understand.

Do you think Price typed that setlist himself? Or did he give specific instructions to whoever's job it was to replace the word 'I' with a picture of an eye? Or was that the setlist typer's own innovation?

No ass is fantastic enough to distract from a pompadour.

Wasn't sure what to expect last night (especially with those ticket prices), but he seriously rocked it and I had an amazing time. I can't think of a performer that can play the guitar and piano, hit both the high and low notes and dance as well as he can, much less one who is on the senior side of 50. The man is a musical legend and if you have any interest at all in any of his "hit" songs, you will not be disappointed if you see him in January.

Plus, I was truly shocked to hear Cyndi Lauper belt it out with the best of them on Jungle Love.

Hey 11:02, are you 20? You act as if you've stumbled upon daddy's record collection or something.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2010 11:25 AM

My favorite word in the English language is engorged

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2010 11:34 AM

Great to see him doing the old songs again.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2010 3:34 PM

get over it, 1:52

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2010 3:52 PM

Did Gil Scott really die? I've been anticipating an aging singer to croak before 2010 ended.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2010 4:03 PM

video no longer available, copyright, NPG, yadda yadda. boo.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2010 4:09 PM

Gil Scott cancelled some shows last week due to illness so it's possible.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2010 4:16 PM

Hey Janelle...it ain't ya booty, its ya beauty.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2010 4:59 PM

I really hope that's not true about Gil Scott-Heron. There is nothing posted about it anywhere.

Posted by Anonymous | December 30, 2010 5:29 PM

Gil Scott-Heron is very much alive and well, believe me. That guy who posted RIP is a douchel Mcdouche.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 11:48 AM

I don't think its true about Gill Scott-Heron, I did not find anything either

Posted by Bliase Tshibwabwa Don't Give Up | January 1, 2011 1:26 PM
