Had a feeling that Slick Rick opening up for Passion Pit on New Years Eve was never going to happen. Shit doesn't even make sense.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 2:38 PM

isn't 285 Kent smaller than Ridgewood? is it going to be easier to get into Times Square than that?

Posted by noko | December 31, 2010 2:40 PM

so was it moved due to poor ticket sales?

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 2:45 PM

Ofcourse it was moved to make it more "intimate" setting and due to poor ticket sales.

Todd P can't book shows for shit.

He books the same bands over and over again......always wondering what his other "job" is to pay his rent in LIC....

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 2:52 PM

Capacity at the old venue is like 500. I know it's NYE and Titus play here monthly (at least), but they couldn't sell 500 tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 2:59 PM

Probably because you had to haul ass to that comics store to buy them. Christ that was a pain. It's the 21st century.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 3:00 PM

so the new venue is "sold out" -- and the new venue fits like 100 people.

good job, todd. myself and a bunch of others were going to get tickets at the door. way to screw us over.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 3:03 PM

meh meh

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 3:08 PM

Todd P just wanted his show to be "sold out" what a douche....not like I would went to the show but....

I heard DJ Awesome was added to the Passion Pit show....can anyone confirm?!? That would be his first east coast appearance in years!

Posted by Kevin Griffin | December 31, 2010 3:15 PM

no phones lol

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 4:26 PM

here's a thought... maybe the show had to move because of venue issues and also just sold out because people bought lots of tickets and there's no conspiracy.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 4:37 PM

bands may want shows to "sell out" for exposure, but promoters could give a shit and just want to sell as many tickets as possible. if the show moved to a smaller venue, I can assure you it was not something the promoter was happy to have to do. it means fewer asses in fewer seats and less money all around. what promoter would ever wish for that?

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 4:40 PM

thank christ i didn't buy tickets to titus ahead of time. that show is going to be a fucking hotbox.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 4:50 PM

I dunno if anyone remembers but like 2 years ago Titus was suppose to open for Black Lips at Ridgewood temple, and that show got moved to Market Hotel because of liquor license issues. Perhaps this is the same thing, or maybe Titus just has shitty luck with that venue.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 4:54 PM

@4:26

meaning the venue doesn't have a phone you can call, derrr

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 5:02 PM

Anyone been to this venue? Capacity info?

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 5:14 PM

now we can sneak alcohol in. todd p = no search.

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 5:17 PM

5:02 hahaha oh shit it said thaton the ridgewood one too and i was just as confused. thank you

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 5:25 PM

titus sucks ass

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 6:56 PM

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 7:23 PM

I'm there waiting in line and there's a bunch of tickets everyone is walking in and happy, hand in the air and having a good time free handjobs too best part of New Year's ever!

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 7:27 PM

Staten Island NYE! I'm going to get a dish of hummus pasta and listen to Jerry Vale while sippin on Sambuca

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 7:47 PM

thinking about just staying home, watching the newest Rocky on Fox and jerking off. who's with me?

Posted by Anonymous | December 31, 2010 8:44 PM

oh man, titus was amazing...

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 2:16 AM

Real Estate plays another one of their cookie cutter shows. grrrr they're so perfect they kind of make me mad.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 3:16 AM

New Year's spent sitting on my ass, listening to jazz smoking blunts and tappin' ass. life is good.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 3:29 AM

Titus played a really long set, covering both album, and lots of covers. Also brought lots of people on stage to play. It was a great set! It was also Ian's last show with the band.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 1:39 PM

@1:39 ian's last show? why?

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 1:49 PM

Is Ian really leaving the band? That sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 1:53 PM

Yeah Ian's leaving. That was an amazing show.

Posted by xywho | January 1, 2011 2:11 PM

"Real Estate plays another one of their cookie cutter shows. grrrr they're so perfect they kind of make me mad."

Yeah, we need more bands like Wavves and Best Coast that constantly sing out of key, and can't really play guitar. There's definitely a dearth of talentless shit going around.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 2:28 PM

Fuck you all charging 16.00 for admission to some bullshit loft show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 2:44 PM

Hopefully Ian's doing something good next. That guy's awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 3:19 PM

Ian's next project is opening up a falafel joint on little west 12th.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 3:24 PM

It wasn't a loft show - it was a "show" show... For Real Estate or Titus alone, i'd pay $16 - especially new year's eve. Plus (as mentioned earlier) Titus really delivered a big, heartfelt set - well worth it.

good luck to Ian - That guy's awesome [2]

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 3:28 PM

should've gone to this instead of ariel pink

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 3:32 PM

Ian <3

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 4:05 PM

Happy new year :)

Posted by Cindy | January 1, 2011 4:24 PM

All the sets at Titus were great last night, but Titus was by far the best they bring so much energy. That place was definitely half the size of ridgewood temple though.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 4:34 PM

Whoan?

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 4:57 PM

Show was great but my girlfriend had her jacket stolen off the coat rack as did another girl. People can be huge assholes. Having to go home at 4 am in middle of winter with no jacket really sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 11:21 PM

yeah, the coat situation last night was crazy. three of my friends got their pockets emptied completely and i got my coat stolen. what the fuck was that about?

Posted by Anonymous | January 1, 2011 11:38 PM

people need hummus money

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 12:44 AM

people need hummur money

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 12:59 AM

I guess peoples' trust funds were running dry after the holidays.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 9:27 AM

Todd P. thinks that anyone who complains about having their possessions stolen at one of his shows is a pussy.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 11:13 AM

in all seriousness todd p's "other job" is the trust fund he's been relying on as long as he's been throwing shows, it's easy to throw it all into the wind when there's literally nothing for you to lose, he's just like jelly

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 12:30 PM

^^ i dont know anything about todd p's personal life and have never been to his shows (and i don't have a trust fund myself) ... but who cares if he has a trust fund?? he's putting on all ages shows outside of the corporate music scene and giving kids a place to go see music which isnt possible in the small clubs in manhattan. growing up in a city where all the shows were all ages that resulted in my friends and i getting really into music. he's giving kids in nyc a chance to see bands.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 1:07 PM

^ The kids are alright! (unless their jacket is stolen, or they're stranded in Mexico, or the cops bust the show, or...)

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 3:18 PM

Todd Patrick comes from no money at all. his parents live an a farm and are broke.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 3:42 PM

judging by how much he's been cracking down on outside booze, and how his empire has dwindled to a show or two a month, that trust fund may be running dry if it does exist

that said, would love to see this coat thing taken to judge judy so he can try to explain what his "job" is to her

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 3:42 PM

who leaves anything valuable in a self serve coat rack. you got nobody to blame but yourself, dumbass

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 3:54 PM

let me get this straight... you guys have beef with a show organizer because somebody stole something out of a coat you left unattended at a show? sounds like maybe you still with your parents and don't understand how the real world works

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 3:56 PM

breaking news... NOBODY FUCKING CARES WHAT ANYONE SAYS IN THESE COMMENTS

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 4:03 PM

just found a bunch of iphones hit up my ebay

Posted by Todd P's Other Job | January 2, 2011 4:07 PM

New York scene is in the shitter lately. not many bands and crappy places to see them. Fun shows are rare.

I wish Todd P would come back and book a lot of shows like he used to do, frankly. who could blame him though, I mean who would want to put up with all this bullshit

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 4:35 PM

i don't know anyone with a trust fund. Really. But I hear that phrase used every 12 seconds to describe any indie band/promoter that people are resentful or jealous of - can it just end?

If you hate todd p or his shows, don't go to them. If you're what I consider normal, you'll enjoy going to see mostly small bands in brooklyn, open to all ages and not too expensive- i just don't get the hatred. That show was fun.

Also the hummus jokes are hard for me to understand. I like eating it. I don't think it really makes me a bad person.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 4:57 PM

insert quip about "interns" here.

bv never ever ever gets old!

hummus

what time does daft punk go on

almost broke my macbook air

trust fund douche

hahahaha it's all so brilliant

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 5:23 PM

Man Man at T5 with Gogol was laughable. Ridiculous, pretentious, awful.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 5:38 PM

Who?

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 7:12 PM

"who leaves anything valuable in a self serve coat rack. you got nobody to blame but yourself, dumbass"

^^ sounds like someone is bitter about getting something stolen from them. probably their hummus. hey dumbass, don't bring yr hummus to todd p shows! it's like gold!

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 7:50 PM

I also had my coat stolen. There was nothing in it (I would not leave any valuable in an unattended coat.) But when there is a "coat check" rack with 200 other coats you think it would be safe to leave it there and people would not be assholes. I am not mad at Todd P at all, I am made at the douche bags who stole coats.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 9:07 PM

The venue was changed because of cops snooping around RMT trying to cause trouble for Todd P. What is with all of you kids trying to come up with reasons to be angry at someone who continually brings you good, cheap shows to come to, let alone ones where you can bring your own booze to?

Get over yrselves.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 9:39 PM

Sweet burn, Todd P.

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 9:44 PM

Tears of Tofu played a great set @ The Lavatory!

Posted by Anonymous | January 2, 2011 11:55 PM

ariel pink is todd p

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2011 2:35 AM

because you had to haul ass to that comics store to buy them.

Posted by Massagem Terapêutica | January 3, 2011 7:52 AM

titus andronicus is not good. at all.

Posted by Anonymous | January 3, 2011 11:27 AM

MISSING A COAT??? It's probably still there.

Just wanted to let everyone in coat recovery mode know that Todd P and crew did me a HUGE favor and helped me retrieve what I was certain was stolen. If anyone out there is missing a coat, you should contact them because I saw a bunch of coats were still there, likely repositioned at the hands of a drunken few (mine somehow made it's way under the stage from the coat rack at the door). If only I had a hidden camera so I could see who had a crazier night - me or my coat.

Overall, minus a few arseholes, the rest of the show was festive and had all the trimmings of a toasty warehouse gig.

Posted by James | January 3, 2011 5:49 PM

does anyone have a set list for Titus from the show? I was front and center pretty much the entire time I was there (which was til around 2) amazing energy and performance, but I couldn't really tell which songs were which, I'd love to know what they played for posterity.
