108

A hiatus, a reformation, a break-up, a departure and another reformation all were the prelude to 108's return to the stage on Saturday (1/8). The band played the first of two NYC shows that day (the first of three overall) at Cake Shop. The show took place earlier in the day, and was followed by the ill-fated Forgetters show that eventually led to the the Cake Shop basement being closed down by police (due to capacity concerns).

Cake Shop was predictably packed for 108 too, and the band easily delivered the best set of all the bands on the bill, much like they reportedly did a few hours later at an also-packed Death By Audio. Each show featured different sets and different support: Ensign, Incendiary, and Torchbearer opened Cake Shop, while DBA got Black Kites, Heavy Breath, and Primitive Weapons.

Now that it has resurfaced, How did all that boner killing Krishna business work out for people in the long run? Was the next step christianity? Ideological hardcore straight edge one sidedness = barf.

Incendiary, hahahahah. Not sure that there is a more generic hardcore band out there. They make Madball look original. Awful fucking band. Plus they're douchey Long Island kids. Worst.

It's so awesome to see Aziz Ansari right up front!!

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2011 4:15 PM

You're Indian, you're Aziz Ansari.

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2011 4:20 PM

I'd say incendiary is one of the least generic hardcore bands going, actually. Also they are some of the nicest dudes I've met, not sure what kind of interaction you've had with them but I'm guessing none.

^ Yeah, seriously.

And as far as "douchey Long Island kids", I'd like to know where YOU'RE from, 4:12.

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2011 4:37 PM

We ALL are Aziz Ansari.

Posted by soysalami | January 10, 2011 4:44 PM

these photos prove that the event was a major sausage fest.

yeah, but did you see the girl from that band that played the evening show at this place? no wonder the cops showed up.

I remember seeing 108 play at Wetlands in 1996 w/Snapcase/Earth Crisis. There were some old, creepy hare-krisna guys in their robes jumping on the audience up front while 108 played. Very clear they had no idea what a HC show was, but their creepy grins alluded to the fact that they were having the 'time of their lives' jumping on men without shirts...

hairy krisnas have good free food feasts on sunday.

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2011 5:02 PM

@ 4:48..you are OBSESSED WITH COCKS. WTF dude, you need to give it a rest or you will be SORE man! chill!

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2011 5:16 PM

Don't ever get caught wearing a Shelter t-shirt around Hare Krisnas in NYC. They'll try to rape you.

The Hara Krishan trend in the LES side doesnt acknowledge the corrupt guru nonsense and molestation etc. The majority of Hindus from India dont fall for that business either where as its the white hip kids who fall for it but pretend to so questioning and intelligent.

Posted by Anonymous | January 10, 2011 5:33 PM

looks like 108 singer has been hitting the free food buffet at the krishna temple...

Krishna kids eat mad hummus in Sundays y'all

whoever keeps posting about sausage fest needs a punch in the face. go to the library or an MIA show if you wanna meet chicks asshole.

4:12, I have a strong feeling that I know who you are, because there's only one person I know of who INSISTS on taking shots at Long Island kids every chance they get. Incendiary is the best band out of NY right now.

Oh and to the guy asking where this douche lives, I'm pretty sure it's a kid from the Bronx. A shame.

Could be GregBX. I'm from LI and even though those LI bros can be annoying (as well as the term "Strong Island", ugh), it's not like they're that much worse than the other dipshit cliques that surround the 5 boroughs.

That's all I'll say. Over and out.
